2000년대 이후 국내 한글 연구의 동향 분석

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate domestic trends in Hangul research from a comprehensive perspective in an effort to suggest some of the right directions for Hangul research. Studies of Hangul have lately been on the rise in number, and the research topics of these studies have increasingly been diversified. Domestic academic journal articles that dealt with Hangul as research topics in every academic discipline between 2000 and 2013 were selected for analysis. After the articles were classified into nine by area of research topic, they were analyzed in the following way. First, a frequency analysis was made to make a quantitative analysis by time period to find out the distribution of the areas of research topic, and then a social network analysis was conducted to set up a network of the areas of research topic to determine the linkage among research topics. Second, each area of research topic was divided into subareas, and the distribution of the subareas was analyzed. Thus, the trends in domestic studies of Hangul that were conducted in the 2000s were analyzed from a new standpoint instead of being confined to typical methods of classification. Chapter 1 described the background and necessity of the study to pose a problem. And the purpose of the study was described, and the composition of the study was explained in order. Chapter II analyzed the history of Hangul research to find out the flow of it, and the concept of social network analysis and degree centrality were briefly explained. Degree centrality is one of analysis methods that was used in this study for data analysis. In addition, the growing recent research cases of Korean linguistics that attempted to introduce social network analysis were explained. Chapter III described the process and methods of the study including data collection, keyword analysis, subject area setting and data classification. Nine areas of research topic were selected: creation of Hangul, historical materials of Hangul, information technology and Hangul, visual arts and Hangul, Hangul education, modern standards of Hangul, sociocultural history of Hangul, Hangul-related policy, and cognitive science and Hangul. And then the areas were classified into subareas. Chapter Ⅳ gave a detailed explanation on the results of the previous chapter by time period and by area of topic to determine pervasive recent trends in studies of Hangul and the flow of the studies between 2000 and 2013. In Sections A and B, the entire period between 2000 and 2013 was divided into five terms by the unit of three years, and the research trend in each term was analyzed in detail. In addition, the distribution of the areas of topic was analyzed, and a network of the areas of topic was set up to confirm the distribution of the areas of topic, degree centrality and the flow of change in each term. In Section C, the distribution of the subareas of research topic was analyzed by time period to check the distribution of the subareas and the flow of change. Finally, Chapter V gave a summary of the results of the study, and made some suggestions on new tasks for Hangul research and the right directions for that. This study is of significance in that it attempted to take a new approach toward Hangul research in terms of graphology's challenge that focuses on how to encompass contemporary advances of which have been dealt with on numerous issues, from letters on the Rosetta Stone to smart phone texts of modern people.;본 연구는 최근 양적인 증가와 함께 연구 주제가 다원화된 국내 한글 연구의 경향성을 포괄적 시각에서 살펴보고 이를 통하여 한글 연구의 나아갈 새로운 방향을 고찰하고자 함을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 논문은 2000년부터 2013년까지 전 학문분야에 걸쳐 한글을 주제로 하는 국내 학술지 논문을 분석 대상으로 하였으며 이들을 9개의 연구주제영역별로 분류하여 다음과 같은 방법으로 분석을 실시하였다. 첫째, 시기별로 나누어 계량적 관점에서 빈도분석을 통해 연구주제영역의 분포 현황을 살펴보았고 다시 사회연결망분석(Social Network Analysis)을 통하여 연구주제영역 간 관계망을 도출하여 이들의 연결 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 둘째, 각 연구주제영역별로 세부주제영역을 도출하여 이들 세부 주제영역의 분포 현황을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석의 과정을 통하여 2000년대 이후에 이루어진 국내 한글 연구의 동향을 학문 고유의 영역을 탈피하여 새로운 관점에서 살펴보았다. Ⅰ장에서는 연구의 배경과 필요성에 대한 논의를 통하여 연구의 문제를 제기하였다. 또한 본 연구의 목적을 설정하고 이를 위하여 설계한 연구의 구성을 단계별로 나누어 제시하였다. Ⅱ장에서는 한글 연구사 검토를 통한 한글 연구의 흐름을 제시하였고 본 연구에서 적용하게 될 사회연결망분석(SNA)의 개념과 분석 기법 중 연구의 분석에 도입하게 될 연결정도중심성(Degree Centrality)에 대하여 간략히 설명하였다. 또한 최근에 점차 증가하고 있는 사회연결망분석 도입을 시도하는 국어학 연구의 사례들을 소개하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 분석 대상이 되는 자료의 수집과 주제어 분석, 주제영역의 설정, 자료 분류 등 일련의 연구 분석 시행의 과정 및 방법을 명시하였다. 분석의 과정에서 ‘한글 창제’, ‘한글 사료’, ‘한글과 정보기술’, ‘한글과 시각예술’, ‘한글 교육’, ‘한글 현대 규범’, ‘한글 사회문화사’, ‘한글 정책’, ‘한글과 인지과학’의 9개 주제영역을 도출하였으며 이들 주제영역별로 세부주제영역을 도출하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 Ⅲ장에서 밝힌 과정을 통한 분석 결과를 시기별, 주제영역별로 나누어 살펴보았으며 이를 통해서 2000년부터 2013년까지 이루어진 한글 연구의 최신 동향 및 흐름을 종합적으로 규명하였다. A절과 B절에서는 전 시기(2000∼2013)를 3년 단위로 1기부터 5기까지 나누어 시기별 분석을 실시하고 각 시기별로 주제영역별 분포 분석과 주제영역 간 네트워크 시각화를 통하여 각 시기별 연구 주제영역 분포와 연결정도중심성을 확인하고 이들의 변화 흐름을 밝혔다. C절에서는 연구 주제영역별로 도출된 세부주제영역의 분포를 시기별로 분석함으로써 각 주제영역의 하위 주제영역의 분포와 변화 흐름을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 Ⅴ장에서는 분석 결과를 요약하고 한글 연구의 새로운 과제와 연구 방향에 대하여 제언함으로써 논의를 정리하였다. 본 논문은 로제타비석의 문자 연구로부터 현대인의 스마트폰 문자사용 연구까지 방대해진 현대의 문자 연구를 어떻게 아우르고 어떠한 시각에서 접근할 것인지에 대한 문자학의 고민을 한글 연구에 적용하여 새로운 시각으로의 접근을 시도하였다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.
