자연의 패턴화를 통한 도자벽장식 연구

Abstract

오늘날의 공간의 개념은 단순한 기능적인 공간으로서의 의미 뿐 만 아니라 시각적이며 미적인 욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는 하나의 예술의 개념으로 변화되었다. 자연은 우리에게 편안함과 안정감을 느끼게 한다. 우리가 생활하는 공간에 자연을 모티브로 제작한 작품을 설치하는 것은 자연의 느낌을 공간에 부여하여 활력과 생기를 주기 위함이며, 도시생활환경에서 자연을 간접적으로 접하여 좀 더 쾌적한 환경을 만들고자 함이다. 과거부터 자연이 주는 미감을 느끼고자 자연을 모티브로 한 예술 장식품이 공간에 사용되어 왔었고 최근 더 나아가 자연요소를 직접적으로 이용한 장식재가 공간을 구성하는데 사용되었다. 그러나 이런 자연요소를 이용한 장식재는 대량생산을 위한 규격화 된 단순한 형태로 사용되어 자연의 생동감 있고 아름다움을 표현하는데 어려움을 가지고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 자연요소로 만들어진 장식재의 한계성을 보완한 도자 벽장식을 제안하고자 하였다. 도자는 자연의 이미지를 다양하게 형태화 할 수 있고, 그 재료원료 자체도 흙으로 만들어 졌으며, 영구적으로 사용할 수 있는 재료적 특성을 가지고 있음으로 장식재로서 사용되어짐에 유리하다. 본 연구를 위한 이론적 배경으로 먼저 도자 벽장식에 대한 개념과 실생활의 활용에 대하여 살펴보았다. 그 다음 모티브가 되는 자연물의 기하학적 표현연구와 기하학적 패턴방법에 따른 조형원리를 살펴보았다. 자연 속에서 발견되는 아름다운 조형이미지를 단순, 반복과 강조를 통한 기하학적 조형원리로 표현된 도자 벽장식을 디자인 하였다. 첫째, 변화하면서도 그 속에서 규칙을 가지며 조화롭게 성장해 가는 자연의 이미지를 기하학적 형태를 이용하여 패턴화 시킨 도자 벽장식을 제안하였다. 둘째, 기존에 평면적인 벽장식의 형태에서 벗어나 높낮이가 있는 조형미를 가진 벽장식을 제안하였다. 셋째 틀에 짜인 이미지작품이 아닌 자신의 개성과 취향을 고려하여 설치 될 수 있는 유연성을 가질 수 있도록 제작하였다. 넷째 도자기라는 재료적 영구성을 가지고 있어 공간의 장식적 요소로서의 활용에 유리하며 대량생산이 가능한 디자인을 제안함으로 공간의 크기의 제한을 줄였다. 공간의 장식에 대한 관심이 늘면서 여러 가지 장식재가 생산되었고 타일과 같은 도자 장식재도 발전하게 되었다. 도자는 건축적으로나 조형적으로 실생활에 활용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 공간의 장식적 요소로서 유용하게 활용될 수 있는 이점을 가지고 있다. 앞으로 도자벽장식의 발전을 위해 형태의 자유로움을 이용한 창의적인 도자 벽장식 개발과 더불어 재료의 한계성을 넘을 수 있는 전문적인 연구가 함께 되어야 한다고 생각한다.;Nature gives us a feeling of comfort and convenience. Installing artefacts motivated by nature in our living space gives us energy and power or life, and indirectly provides us with the emotional influence of the nature we usually miss out on by living in the concrete jungles of cities. Having changed values from the past, people are eager to live in a more comfortable and stable environment and as a result the art of home decor has appeared. When decorating a space, we use decorations that fuse with natural and artistic features. Although natural things are often used, such as simple shapes, these have limitations as to how well they can express energy and beauty. By using nature, it is possible to express the diverse feelings of the natural world. The material used is made from soils and adds nature to the living space, creating permanent materials. For the theoretical background, I will look at the concept of china-wall-decorations in advance and then the usage of it in our daily lives. Next, I will research the principle of moulding according to geometric use and patterns of nature in various areas of daily life. The research suggests that china-wall-decorations, in which beautiful images of moulding in nature are employed, usuallyexpress simplicity , repetition and emphasis. The first work suggests using geometric patterns, china-wall-decorations are inspired by the uniqueness of a principle of nature and harmonized by the growth of nature. The second piece suggests wall decorations which are dimensional with height, apart from the normal wall decorations which are flatted overall. The third one is built with a flexibility which is not structured but fixed one. The fourth piece suggests that china can be employed in multiple areas due to its timeless as a material for decorating any space. The possibility of such pieces being mass produced can also reduce the limitation of the size of the space. As interest in decorating grows, there have been high expectations for the development of china-wall-decorations. China has huge advantages on using in our daily lives both architecturally and plasticly. In my opinion, there should be more attempts to develop more creative types of china-wall-decorations, for example, by altering the flexibility of the shape and the material used to make of the china. However, this will only be possible when the limitations of the material are overcome by future research.
