Abstract

The portfolio aims at three following purposes. First, it encourages the learner to use the target language in a context which he is going to use in his workplace. Which means the learner can learn the target language through contextualized and meaningful use of the language rather than learning sentence-level usage of the language. Second, the learner can practice his productive language skills through presenting relevant business skills such as organizing, making charts, tables, and making presentations. At the end of the course, he may become a more fluent speaker through accomplishing tasks and speaking practices. Lastly, the learner can acquire rich, creative and autonomous language skills through learning and discussing case studies and reviewing each unit. Activities and tasks provided in this portfolio will help the target learner acquire language skills for effective business communication.
