Abstract
Understanding of Alcoholics is the privilege of Masculism. However, expectation and change of roles and expanding working member as society cause women to allow alcoholic beverage, women alcohol consumption recently increased 54.7% to 80.7% between 1997 to 2000 and caused serious related problems. Even though women’s alcoholic and hospitalization rates are lower than men, research about the alcoholism for women has been mostly focused for men or lack of investigation for the women’s alcoholic symptom. Thus, alcoholism has been known disease for men but solutions for women are highly needed. Various investigations for woman alcoholic patients have been done to understand result widely. But, primary investigations for women alcoholism case studies were limited and researches of mid 1990s were only defined to demographic and clinical characteristics. (Park et al. 1996, Jung et al. 1997; Sung et al 1999). Since year 2000, women alcoholism studies have been mostly focused on psychological and environmental factors. Based on past results, the primary cause for the alcoholism is genetically affected by family tree. Therefore, evidences about the inheritance of alcoholism by generation are used to figure out problems. Also, the close involvement of alcoholic patients’ family for defining and solutions are needed, but most of case studies have been men not for women. Not only family history but, research trend about family cooperation, family adaptation, family stress and maternity are also needed. The Object of this study is analyzing research trend about the family history and the relation of women alcoholism between 1970 to 2012. The Conclusion of this study is based on 50 women alcoholic related journals and studies about family history and relation are cited among these journals Normally if alcoholic patient evolved either father or mother, age for start drinking is faster than normal individual. Thus, acute involvement for alcohol related problems is needed from the close family. And alcoholic can be easily progress due to sexual problems and domestic harassments. Case studies and therapeutic programs for sexual difference between men and women alcoholism are essential for the patients and up to now 7 journals have been published and 1970 to 2012 case studies will be expanded to another year for the future research and related program development. Studies related women alcoholism are 4 journal papers for family cooperation, 1 journal paper for family adaptation, 1 journal paper for family stress and 1 journal paper for maternity and not belong to a family of 7 other journals. most of these papers published between 2001 to 2002. According to research trend on family history and relationship for women alcoholism, qualitative and quantitative involvements are essential, in order to get appropriate therapy to women alcoholic patient due to lack of study. This future study must provide fundamental track for women alcoholic patients and their family.
