나르시시즘현상을 바탕으로 한 무용창작작품 「마주한 공허」에 관한 연구

Abstract

오늘날 사회의 급격한 변화는 사람들의 사고방식과 가치관의 변화를 야기 시켰으며 자본주의 논리가 팽배하면서 개인주의적이고 물질적 경쟁 위주의 집단화를 불러 일으켰다. 또한 개개인을 뛰어 넘는 국가, 사회, 조직, 집단, 사상, 이데올로기에 의한 주체성(Identity)은 사라지고 지나친 자기애를 초래하였다. 따라서 연구자는 현대사회 안에서 이기적이고 자기중심적인 행동으로 타인과 소통하지 못하고 부정적 영향을 끼침으로써 사회의 건강한 구성원이 되지 못하는 나르시스적 인간의 문제점을 제시하고, 긍정적 변화를 꾀하고자 하는데 연구의 필요성을 갖는다. 본 연구는 현대사회에 만연한 나르시시즘현상을 다룬 무용창작작품 「마주한 공허」(2013) 에 대한 분석으로 이루어진다. ‘나르시시즘’이란 자기를 사랑의 대상으로 삼고 거기에 도취되는 심리 상태를 말한다. 자기애적 성향은 자기 자신을 가치 있는 소중한 존재로 사랑하고 자신의 욕망과 이익을 추구하며 살아가는 것으로 인간에게는 자연스럽고 정상적인 건강한 나르시시즘으로 보다 행복한 삶을 살아가는데 도움을 준다. 그러나 나르시시즘이 병적으로 강해지면 지나치게 자기중심적인 행동으로 타인의 감정에 공감할 수 없으며 과장된 자아 감각으로 상황을 정확하게 인지할 수 없게 된다. 따라서 인간관계에서 많은 문제를 일으켜 성숙한 삶으로 나아가지 못해 사회적 고립으로 이어지게 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사회 안에서 개인을 긍정적 변화로 이끌어 내어, 공동체 의식을 함양함으로써 조화로운 삶을 이루고자 하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 무용창작작품 「마주한 공허」에서는 현대사회의 급격한 변화에 따른 개인의행동과 변해가는 심리과정을 표현하기 위해, 총 세 개의 장으로 구성하였다. 주제와 내용, 공간사용과 장면별 구성, 무용수의 이동경로와 움직임으로 나누어 작품을 분석하고, 상징적 의미의 오브제를 사용함으로써 안무자가 말하는 주제를 효과적으로 전달하고자 하였다. 작품의 1장에서는 현대사회를 살아가는 인간의 모습을 나타낸 것으로, 사회의 급격한 변화로 인해 나타나는 인간의 심리를 표현하였다. 안무자는 이와 같은 내용을 표현하기 위해 장면에 따른 조명과 오브제인 책상과 의자를 사용하여 공간상의 범위를 제한하여 장면 속 고립된 이미지를 표현하였다. 또한 무대중앙 뒤쪽의 깊은 곳에서 관객과의 거리감을 유지한 채 뒷모습만 보이며 움직이는 무용수를 통해 개인주의적이고 이기적인 현대인의 모습을 나타내었다. 2장에서는 점차 ‘자기’ 안으로 침잠하는 나르시스적 인간의 모습으로 현실과는 동떨어진 환상과 왜곡된 현실에서 살아가는 모습을 표현하였다. 장면이 바뀌는 시점에 순간적인 암전과 무음악으로 장면의 전환을 시도하였으며, 파란색과 붉은색 계열의 조명을 사용하여 나르시스적 인간의 부정적인 환상을 부각 시키고자 하였다. 또한 제한된 공간을 확장시켜 움직임의 역동성을 발전시켰으며 무용수의 시선을 무대 천장으로 향하는 움직임을 연속적으로 사용하여 과장된 자신이 내면에 고착되었음을 인지하는 나르시스적 인간의 모습을 드러내고자 하였다. 3장에서는 나르시스적 인간이 자신의 정체성과 가치관의 혼란을 느끼며 결국 자신을 정확하게 인지하고 극복하고자 하는 의지를 보여 줌으로써 건강한 삶의 회복에 대한 희망적인 모습을 전달하고자 하였다. 무대중앙을 긍정의 의미를 부여한 B구역으로 설정하였으며, 무용수가 무대를 좌우로 가로지르며 빠른 속도로 뛰어다님과 동시에 주변을 살피는 듯 한 시선처리와 움직임의 높낮이, 속도의 조절을 통해 변해가는 심리과정을 표현하였다. 또한 오브제인 의자를 긍정적인 의미를 부여한 B구역으로 옮기면서 앞으로 돌려 오브제의 위치와 색을 변화시켜 긍정적인 결말을 전달하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 현대사회에 만연한 나르시시즘 현상을 바탕으로 창작한 무용창작작품「마주한 공허」를 통해 현대사회의 불안정한 시대 흐름 속에서 행복한 삶의 가치와 의미를 찾도록 하는데 연구의 의의를 가지며, 자기를 바르게 인식하여 건강한 나르시시즘으로 사회 안에서 긍정적인 구성원으로써 조화로운 삶의 중요성을 인식시키고자 하였다. ;Rapid changes in today’s society have changed transition of people's thought and values. Prevailing logic of capitalism has brought collectivization focusing on individualism and material competition. It has caused excessive narcissism and the loss of identity based on country, society, organization, community and ideology beyond individual. Thus, researchers should suggest narcissistic problem which causes negative impact for being a healthy member of society due to a selfish and self-centered behavior in modern society and sought positive change. This study has analyzed 「faced void」(2013), dance work dealing with the phenomena of narcissism prevalent in modern society. 'Narcissism' means psychological state of intoxication of oneself by making oneself an object of love. Narcissistic tendencies are to love one and sought self-desire and interest. Healthy narcissism helps human to live happier life. However, excessive narcissism makes people be disconnected to other's sentiment due to an excessive self-centered behavior and not to accurately aware circumstances due to an exaggerated self-sense. Therefore, it creates a lot of problems and leads to a social isolation. This study aims to generate positive changes in people and to cultivate community spirit so that it could accomplish harmonious life. newly choreographed work「faced void」(2013) consists of three chapters to express individual's behavior in accordance with rapid changes in modern society and change of psychological process. It aims to effectively deliver the director's intention by constructing stage according to theme, contents, space and scene, analyzing work based on moving route and move of dancers and using symbolic objet. The first chapter represents human living in modern society. It expresses psychology of human derived from rapid changes of society. The director represents isolated image to restrict spatial scope using different lighting, desks and chairs. In addition, the director describes self-centered and selfish modern man through dancers moving with their backs appears in the back of the center stage. The second chapter represents narcissistic human gradually isolating oneself living in a fantasy and distorted reality. Changes in the scene were attempted through momentary dark change and an absence of music. And negative fantasy of narcissistic human was highlighted using blue and red lights. In addition, dynamic movement was developed by expanding limited space. It tries to exhibit human who have been starting to aware that narcissistic human has adhere to inner mind by using successive movement of staring the ceiling. The chapter three conveys hope of recovering healthy life by showing narcissistic human confused with identity and value who wants to exactly aware of himself and to overcome. The center of the stage has been designated to B area with positive meaning. Changes in psychology has been presented by adjusting movement of dancers, who are running in a fast pace across the stage, height of movement, pace and dancer's gazing. Moreover, it tries to convey positive conclusion by changing chairs to B area which has positive meaning and revolving the chairs to the front which have white color. This study has its meaning in that it tries to discover value and meaning of happy life in the midst of unstable flow of the time through 「faced void」, a creative dance work based on narcissism prevalent in modern society. And it aims to let people aware the importance of harmonious life by accurately aware themselves in the frame of healthy narcissism as a positive members of society.
