21현 가야금 독주곡 <큰 산은 깊은 골짜기를 품는다네> 분석 연구

Abstract

한국 전통 음악에서 창작음악의 활동은 1942년 김기수의 「세우영」을 시작으로 많은 작곡가들에 의해 전통악기를 위한 국악 창작곡이 출현하게 되면서 더욱 활성화 되었다. 특히 이성천은 1981년 21현 가야금을 처음으로 선보인 후 꾸준히 21현 가야금 작품을 발표하며 창작음악 발전에 있어 큰 역할을 했다. 그의 작품들 중 본 고의 연구대상인 ‘21현 가야금 독주곡 제 63번 <큰 산은 깊은 골짜기를 품는다네>’는 2001년 가야금연주자 박희전의 위촉으로 작곡된 21현 가야금과 장구로 연주하는 곡이다. 작곡가 이성천의 21현 가야금 독주곡 <큰 산은 깊은 골짜기를 품는다네>는, 각 장에 등장하는 악곡 설명의 요소들을 선율에 적용시켜 깊은 골짜기를 품은 백두대간의 모습을 음악화하였다. 전체 악곡은 1악장-2악장-3악장으로 진행되며 변화하는 박자와 템포를 통해 분위기가 고조된다. 곡이 후반부로 진행 될수록 풍부한 화음과 새롭고 화려한 연주기법들이 등장하며, 마지막 부분에서 최고음역과 가장 큰 악상이 나타나면서 선율은 더욱 확대되고 음악적으로 극대화된다. 이는 악곡설명에서 이야기하는 화자의 시선이 꼬부랑 소나무에서 깊은 골짜기로, 깊은 골짜기에서 백두대간으로 점차 확대되는 모습을 악곡에 그대로 적용시켰음을 보여준다. 따라서 21현 가야금 독주곡 <큰 산은 깊은 골짜기를 품는다네> 는 이성천의 표제적 성향과 자연주의적 사상이 잘 나타난 곡이라 할 수 있다.;Korea's traditional music, activities in the justices of the 1942 "Sewuyeong(세우영)’ by many composers, starting with traditional instruments for the traditional music is creative music emerged as two more were activated. 21 string gayageum Lee seong-cheon 1981 introduced for the first time after a steady 21 string gayageum published works, and creative music played a large role in the development.
