한국형 베일리 영유아 발달검사 3판 인지척도 국내 적용을 위한 타당성 연구

Abstract

This study is to validate Korean Scales of Bayley Infant and Toddler Development Third Edition(K-Bayley-III) cognitive scale for domestic application. The research questions were focused on such issues as content and relevance of items, adequacy of starting items, clarity of instruction to the examiner and child, administration procedures, and scoring criteria through analyzing item difficulty and item pass rates. 367 infants and toddlers from 16-days old to 42-months-15days o1d live in Seoul and the suburbs were the subjects for this study. They were recruited through internet participant program. The Korean Bayley-III were conducted by trained researchers at nurseries where the participants attend in a lab of Ewha Womans University or clinic rooms of Seoul Municipal Hospital. The test lasted about an hour for each participant. The Results of the study are as follows: First, The adequateness of item arrangement was checked by item difficulty analysis based on Item Response Theory. Overall difficulty of items was appropriate from -2.054 of the easiest item to 2.878 of the most difficult item. Some items that were too easy or too difficult compared to other items were studied. Second, pass rate of items were studied. Starting items for 17 age stages were quite sound with average rate of 80%. Items with low pass rates were H~M stage starting items and some of first 3 items for each stage. Since those items thought to be problematic, changes in starting points were considered. Third, content validity was examined by three of developmental psychology experts, they confirmed the relevance of items of K-Bayley-III cognitive scale. Concurrent validity of K-Bayley-III and K-Lieter-R yielded a moderate correlation of .503 (p < 0.01). Furthermore, to adjust the level of difficulty, amendments to the administration procedures and scoring criteria were made.;본 연구는 보건복지부 사회서비스 R&D ‘한국형 영유아 발달검사 서비스 개발’사업으로 진행된 미국판 베일리 발달검사 3판(Bayley-III)을 한국형 영유아 발달검사로 개발하기 위한 예비연구의 일부이다. 본 연구에서는 인지 척도를 중점적으로 살펴본다. 본 연구는 Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Third Edition (Bayley, 2006; Bayley-III)이 개발될 때 예비연구에서 검토되었던 문항의 내용 및 적절성, 시작 문항의 적절성, 지침서의 명료성, 시행절차, 채점 기준 등을 연구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 번역 및 수정 위원회를 구성하여 예비연구본을 마련하고, 검사를 실시하여 난이도 및 문항 통과율을 살펴보고자 한다. 또한, 내용 타당도 및 K-Lieter-R과의 공인타당도를 검증한다. 본 연구의 주요 목적은 한국형 베일리 영유아 발달검사 3판 인지척도의 표준화본 마련의 토대를 다지는 것이다. 연구 대상은 서울 및 수도권에 거주하는 생후 16일 ~42개월 15일의 367명 영유아였으며, 인터넷 참여 프로그램을 통해 성별, 거주 지역, 모 학력 비율 따라 모집하였다. 양육자나 보호자와 함께 서울 은평 시립 병원 및 이화여자 대학교 연구실을 방문하여 약 1시간 동안 검사를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 문항 반응 이론(IRT)을 적용하여 개별 문항의 난이도를 분석하였다. 전체적으로 난이도가 –2.054로 매우 쉬운 1번 문항부터 문항난이도가 2.878로 매우 어려운 90번 문항까지 적절히 배치되어 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 한편, 일부 주변 문항보다 쉽거나 어려운 문항과 시리즈 문항의 난이도를 검토하였다. 둘째, 전반적인 문항 통과율 경향과 각 연령 단계별 시작점에 해당하는 문항과 이어지는 두 문항, 즉 시작 규칙에 해당하는 처음 세 문항에 대한 문항통과율을 확인하였다. 월령이 높아질수록 각 문항의 통과율은 증가하는 양상을 보였다. 일부 문항과 연령 단계에서 통과율의 급격한 변화가 있었다. 시작 세 문항의 통과율은 대부분 80%이상으로 비교적 양호하였으나, H ~ M 단계의 시작점 통과율이 95%에 못 미쳐 수정이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 타당도를 검토하였다. 예비연구본 마련을 위해 구성된 번역 및 수정 위원회에서 인지척도의 각 문항이 영유아의 인지를 측정하는데 적합한지 확인하여 내용 타당도를 검증하였다. 공인타당도를 확인하기 위해 K-Leiter-R과 K-Bayley-III 인지척도와의 관계를 살펴보았다. K-Leiter-R의 전체지능지수와 K-Bayley-III 인지척도의 합산점수는 중간 정도의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고(r =.503, p > 0.01), K-Leiter-R의 유동적 추론 합산점수와 K-Bayley-III 인지척도 합산점수 간에도 유의미한 상관이 나타났다(r =.412, p > 0.05). 위의 연구 결과를 토대로, 향후 K-Bayley-III 표준화본 작성에 반영되어야 하는 문항 순서 조정 및 시작점 변경을 제안하였다. 더불어, 난이도 조정을 위한 시행 방법 변경과 채점 기준의 완화 및 강화가 필요한 문항들에 대해 논의하였다.
