생명존중의식 함양을 위한 미술과 도덕과 통합수업 계획 개발 및 적용

Abstract

Modern society is familiar to life's convenience and plentifulness because of the rapid development of science and technology. But, it caused mammonism and materialism and Korean society showed the highest speed of crime increasing rate and its rate of suicide was the highest among the OECD countries, not Eastern Land of Courtesy, because of the overflowing of human selfishness. The most serious problem is the trend of human life cheapening. In mass communication, there are continuously news which let our mind heavy and terrible and the behavior cheapening life is always conducted every day without mass communication. It's more serious problem that the sense of guilt for the behavior is gradually disappeared, Life is valuable thing which cannot be damaged thoughtlessly. We must call if we conduct proper education into a problem so as to treat and recover the world spreaded by evil gradually and negative phenomena caused. The system of current education seems to be not positive. Modern society is continuously changed every day and education must be changed continuously for it. Education must be improved based on the social demands and the most important demands of learners. Based on the interests and experiences of learners, it must be related and applicable to their actual life. The curriculum reflected by those changes and demands is rightly combined education of small-scale studies. The combined education lets learners study in relation to actual and concrete life. Classes related to subjects are effective method of studying, that students can remember intellectual theory or concept students learned for a long time. The purposes of this researcher are to let ethics subject treating theoretical knowledge improve the standard of awareness for all of lives such as family include oneself, neighbors and all of human in the world, animals and plants, natural environment, etc. through the classes combined by art subject of passage for indirect experiences so that children can apply it to actual life, obtain an experience understanding and internalizing correct knowledge for the reasons to treat it valuably, apply it to actual life and learn the attitude of practicing. By expressing theoretical and conceptual contents learned in ethics subject, art subject is related to aesthetic experience. Therefore, the problem related to actual life is raised by combined art subject and ethics subject, indirect experience can be obtained by the solution process and it can be applied to actual life. The combined classes can be very effective for value's internalization and personality forming of children who need life education and the whole-person education. To achieve it, this research theoretically considered life and life respect awareness through the precedent researches and documentary inspection, examined the current situation and problems of life resect education in elementary school and found the direction of life respect education. And then, by applying the class program combined by art and ethics to classes, it intended to measure the degree of their life respect awareness's improvement. Among the forms of combined education, cobweb model was selected among the Forgarty(1998) models, as a combination of small-scale studies and the class of <Making of story picture-book including life respect awareness> was developed. The purposes of this class is to let students respect life in relation to the actual life, study methods to solve problems, ethical contents, form the concept of life respect, discuss the process of problem-solving with life respect among the learners, apply and manufacture the solutions to the contents of picture book, internalize life respect awareness and improve the interests in art and ethics. The subject of this research is total 25 people and one mixed classroom in the third grade of C Elementary School located in Cheonwang-si. The period of experiment was Jan. 28, 2013 to Feb. 01 and combined classes of art and ethics, developed by this researchers To one experimental group, this research applied the combined class of art total 8 times. For one class of experimental group, the combined classes of art and ethics was applied. Among the results of experiment, The materials which can be treated statistically, frequency analysis, matching sample T-test were conducted by research problem with SPSS ver 12.0 program. And, practical results, class activity paper, learners' descriptive evaluation which cannot be statistically analyzed drew the results through the qualitative analysis. The results of this research can be abstract. The combined class of art and ethics was conducted for experimental group so as to cultivate life respect awareness. As the result, life respect awareness showed significant results in the survey of questionnaire. In the test of life respect awareness, pre-average (M=80.48) was improved by 15.44 score in comparison with post-average (M=95.92). Among them, there was outstanding changes of awareness in several questions, In the test of self-respect which can examine the degree of respecting their own lives, there was significant results. 10.32 scores were increased between pre-average(M=33.52) and post-average(M=43.84) and the combined class of art and ethics, developed in this research, <Making of story picture-book including life respect awareness> proved the significance of educational effects for cultivating children's life respect awareness. Also, in the field of elementary art education, it's significant that the combined class between art and other subjects can be applied to the education fo life and life respect. Educational approach for cultivating life respect awareness is very important item and must be researched continuously. Certain concept for life and awareness of importance must be continuously conducted through the not only elementary schooldays but also the whole life. Various and practicable classes of various methods, which can be adapted to middle school students, high school students and furthermore, adults should be developed. Researches for it should be continuously conducted, several directions for the combined curriculum with other subjects by focusing on art subject, conduct more active researches, more active researches, developments and verification can be accomplished so as to be applied to actual field. Efforts and outcomes for cultivating life respect awareness should be accomplished in educational site of the school.;현대사회는 비약적인 과학과 기술의 발전으로 삶의 편함과 풍요로움이 익숙해진 사회이다. 하지만 그 이면엔 물질․화폐 만능주의로 인한 인간의 이기심이 팽배해졌다. 한국사회는 OECD국가 중 범죄 증가률의 속도가 가장 높으며 자살률은 1위인 나라가 되었다. 생명경시풍조현상의 문제는 심각하다. 연일 매스컴에선 우리의 마음을 무겁고, 무섭게 만드는 소식을 보여준다. 생명을 경시하는 행동은 매체를 통하지 않더라고 주변 곳곳에서 쉽게 볼 수 있다. 더욱 문제는 이런 행동에 대한 죄의식이 점점 없어져 간다는 것이다. 생명은 소중하며 함부로 해할 수 없는 존귀한 것이다. 현대사회에서 일어나고 있는 부정적 현상들에 대처하고 극복하기 위해 우리는 제대로 된 교육을 하고 있는가를 문제 삼아야 한다. 현대사회는 매일 같이 끊임없이 변화되어가고 있으며 그에 맞춰 교육 역시 끊임없이 변화 해가야 한다. 교육은 사회의 요구, 그리고 가장 중요한 학습자들의 요구를 바탕으로 개선되어야 한다. 학습자의 흥미와 경험을 바탕으로 그들의 실제적인 삶과 연관 되며 적용 가능할 수 있게 해야 한다. 이러한 변화와 요구를 반영한 교육과정이 바로 간학문적인 통합교육이다. 통합교육은 학습자의 실제적․구체적인 삶과 관련된 학습에 용이하다. 과목의 연계를 통한 수업은 학생들이 배운 지적인 이론이나 개념을 오랫동안 기억할 수 있는 효과적인 학습 방법이다. 본 연구자는 연구의 목적을 미술과목과 도덕과목의 통합수업을 통해 자신을 포함한 가족과 이웃 그리고 세상의 모든 인간, 동·식물, 자연환경 등 모든 생명의 소중함에 대한 의식수준을 향상시키며, 소중하게 다루어야 하는 이유에 대한 올바른 지식을 이해하고 내면화하는 경험을 한 후 실제 생활에 적용하여 실천할 수 있는 태도를 익히도록 하는 데 두었다. 더불어 미술과와 도덕과에 대한 흥미를 높이는데 목표를 두고 있다. 미술과는 도덕과목에서 배운 이론과 개념적 내용을 미술활동을 통해 표현해봄으로써 미적체험으로 연결된다. 그러므로 미술 과목과 도덕과목을 통합함으로써 실생활과 관련된 문제를 주고 그 해결과정을 통해서 간접경험을 할 수 있으며 이는 실생활에서도 적용이 가능하다. 이런 통합수업을 통해 생명 교육과 전인 교육이 필요한 아동에게 가치의 내면화와 인격형성에까지 매우 효과적인 수업이 될 수 있는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 먼저 선행연구 및 문헌조사를 통하여 생명과 생명존중의식에 대해 이론적 고찰을 한 후 초등학교 생명존중교육의 현황 및 문제점을 알아보고 생명존중교육의 방향성을 모색하였다. 그 후 미술과와 도덕과의 통합 수업 프로그램을 만들어 수업에 적용함으로서, 학생들의 생명존중의식 향상의 정도를 측정하고자 하였다. 통합교육의 유형에서 간학문적 통합으로 포가티(Forgarty, 1998)의 모형 중 거미줄 모형을 선택하여 <생명존중의식이 담긴 이야기 그림책 만들기> 수업을 개발하였다. 연구대상은 총 25명으로 서울시에 소재한 C초등학교 3학년 남녀 혼반 한 개의 학급으로 선정하였다. 실험 기간은 2013년 1월 28일부터 2월 1일까지 이며, 총 8차시로 실험집단 한 반에 본 연구자가 개발한 미술과 도덕과 통합수업을 적용하였다. 실험 처치하여 얻은 결과 중 통계적 처리가 가능한 수집 자료는 SPSS ver 12.0 프로그램을 사용하여 연구문제에 따라 빈도분석, 대응표본 T-test를 실시하였으며, 통계적으로 분석 할 수 없는 실기 결과물 ․ 수업활동지 ․ 학습자의 기술 평가 자료는 질적 분석하여 결론을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 생명존중의식 함양을 위해 실험집단에 미술과와 도덕과의 통합수업을 실시한 결과 생명존중의식 설문지 조사에서 유의미한 결과가 나왔다. 생명존중의식 검사 사전 평균(M=80.48)에서 사후 평균(M=95.92)로 15.44점이나 향상되었고 이 중 몇 몇 문항에서 눈에 띄는 의식의 변화가 있었다. 같이 검사한 자신의 생명에 대한 존중정도를 알아 볼 수 있는 자아 존중감 측정 검사에서 역시 유의미한 결과를 보였다. 검사 사전 평균(M=33.52)에서 사후 평균(M=43.84)로 10.32점이나 향상되어 이번 연구에서 개발된 미술과 도덕과 통합수업 <생명존중의식이 담기 이야기 그림책 만들기>가 아동의 생명존중의식을 함양하는 데 교육적 효과가 있음을 검증했다는 의의를 갖는다. 또한 초등학교 미술교육 현장에서 미술과와 타 교과와의 통합수업이 생명 ․ 생명존중 교육에 활용될 수 있다는 의의를 갖는다. 생명존중의식 함양을 위한 교육적 접근은 매우 중요한 사항이며 앞으로 계속 연구가 이루어져야할 분야이다. 생명에 관한 확실한 개념과 중요성에 관한 인식은 초등 뿐 아닌 전 인생에 걸쳐서 계속해서 이루어져야 할 교육이다. 이 분야가 앞으로 중학교 고등학교 더 나아가 성인에게 까지 적용할 수 있는 여러 방식의 다양하고 실천 가능한 수업이 개발되어야 할 것이다. 이에 관한 연구가 지속적으로 이루어져 미술과를 중심으로 한 타 교과와의 통합교육과정에 대한 여러 방향을 모색하여 실제 교육 현장에서 활용될 수 있도록 더 활발한 연구와 개발과 검증이 이루어져 생명존중의식의 함양을 위한 노력과 그 결실이 학교 교육현장에서 이루어지길 바란다.
