해외 사례 분석을 통한 국내 지오웹 기반 교육 사이트 구축방안

Abstract

Due to the growth of the Internet, the user’s demand for using convenient web pages is increasing and a user-friendly internet environment has been created. This brought the expansion of a Web 2.0 concept and additionally enabled us to obtain extensive spatial information. In particular, if we utilize satellite images and spatial information, the applicable area of the Geo Web seems to be expanding to the whole our society. This also has affected the field of education, and thus various discussions and studies are being done on the educational effectiveness of the web environment to collect and to manipulate spatial information. In overseas cases, Geo Web-based educational sites have been built so that teachers or students can use them to take advantage of the educational purposes. In Korea however, it is difficult to find such cases. If Geo Web-based educational sites are built and provided in Korea, a frame to be able to use the map services and spatial data for the educational purpose will be arranged. The purpose of this study is to present the criteria to analyze web-based educational sites overseas and to analyze home and foreign sites based on those criteria. This study is also aimed to propose the development plan of domestic Geo Web-based educational sites by the implications through analyzing overseas cases. As the sites to be analyzed, foreign sites including Google in Education, USGS Education, NASA Education, and OS Education, as well as Korean portal sites such as Naver, Daum, Vworld being operated by a public institution of Korea were selected. This study also attempt to examine the services provided by sites in aspects of contents and functions. Hereunder are the methods proposed to build the domestic Geo Web–based educational sites proposed by on the basis of analyzing the results of domestic and foreign sites. First, tutorials need to be arranged to guide the usage and educational use of web map services. Second, educational materials to deal with various subjects and topics need to be provided by using the existing map services and the geospatial data established already. Third, a variety of functions such as mashup, visualization, and spatial analysis should be provided so that users can take advantage of map services for various purposes. Fourth, a space should be arranged in order for users to share produced educational materials, information, and opinions. Fifth, lastly map services, external geospatial data, and statistics should be linked to ensure users operate.;인터넷의 발전으로 인해 사용자들의 편리한 웹 페이지 사용에 대한 요구가 증가하고 사용자중심의 인터넷 환경이 만들어지면서 Web 2.0 개념이 확대되었고, 이와 더불어 방대한 공간정보들을 쉽게 얻을 수 있게 되었다. 특히, 위성영상과 공간정보 데이터베이스를 활용하면 우리사회 전반에 지오웹의 응용분야는 확대될 것으로 보인다. 이는 교육 분야에도 영향을 미쳐 공간정보를 수집하고 조작할 수 있는 웹 환경의 교육적 효과에 대해서 다양한 논의와 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 해외의 경우, 공공공기관이나 민간기업 또는 개인이 교사나 학생들이 교육을 목적으로 활용할 수 있도록 지오웹 기반의 교육 사이트를 구축해 놓은 사례가 있지만 국내의 경우에는 찾아보기가 힘들다. 국내에서도 지오웹 기반의 교육 사이트를 구축하여 제공한다면 웹 환경에서 제공되는 지도서비스와 공간정보자료를 교육적으로 활용할 수 있는 틀이 마련될 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 해외의 지오웹 기반 교육 사이트를 분석하기 위한 기준을 제시하고, 그 기준에 따라 국·내외 사이트를 분석하는 것이다. 둘째, 해외 사례 분석을 통한 시사점을 통해 국내 지오웹 기반 교육 사이트의 발전 방안을 제안하는 것이다. 분석대상 사이트는 Google in education, USGS education, NASA education, OS education의 해외 사이트와 국내의 포털사이트인 Naver, Daum, 공공기관의 Vworld(브이월드)를 연구대상으로 하였으며, 사이트에서 제공하는 서비스를 내용적·기능적 측면에서 살펴보았다. 국내·외 사이트 분석 결과를 토대로 제안한 국내 지오웹 기반 교육 사이트 구축 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 웹 지도 서비스의 사용방법과 공간정보자료의 교육적 활용안내를 하는 tutorial을 마련한다. 둘째, 지도서비스와 기존에 구축되어 있는 공간정보자료를 활용한 다양한 과목과 주제를 다루는 교육 자료를 제공한다. 자료는 사이트(혹은 기관)의 특성에 따라 다양한 방식으로 제공될 수 있다. 셋째, 사용자들이 지도 서비스를 다양하게 활용할 수 있도록 매쉬업, 시각화, 공간분석 등의 다양한 기능을 제공한다. 넷째, 사용자들이 제작한 교육 자료와 정보 및 의견을 공유할 수 있는 공간을 마련한다. 다섯째, 지도 서비스와 외부 공간정보자료 및 통계자료를 사용자의 조작이 가능하도록 연계한다.
