슬래쉬 기법을 응용한 스포츠 패션 디자인 연구

Abstract

In the process of changing into the modern society in late 19th century, by spread of sports development and sports culture through free time's extension and leisure lives by fortune's extension, sports is now affecting of politics, economy, art, movie, TV, advertisement, design and etc. in modern society. Especially, sports is evaluating as one of the most effective factor in fashion and it is not only simple way to spend free time or hobby but also the representative culture type which symbolize modern society by keep changing with social trend and affect the whole culture. Sports wear is developed as 'sports fashion' which is equipped not only simply functionality and activity for sports but also satisfies individuality and esthetic requirement. It means sports wear is developed well in comfort and pleasant way and also seek functionality so it shows that it is coated as daily wear. As another phenomenon to express futuristic style, the slash technique is widely used lately. The slash technique is the most distinguishing decorative method of the Renaissance period that pursued exaggeration and ostentation and it is, from the 90s until now, still a method of expression loved by many designers. At first it was influenced by punk as a method to express antisocial resistance of the youth, but the slash technique gradually used in high fashion showing a more daring and various forms and even its meaning is becoming diverse. Today the attempt to apply the slash technique is visible but much more design development is needed. This study tries to expand the sports fashion expression territory by applying the slash technique design. Also, the material is good in insulation and thermo-keeping, creating an avant-garde sensation by using neoprene that is getting the spotlight these days as a new fashion material. The colors used are those that are used widely in sports fashion including neon blue, neon pink, and yellow-green to try and bring out the sporty sensation. The methods used were first, through researches of precedent researchers, we look at the concepts and entrance background of sports fashion, divided the origins and characteristics of sports fashion into items of Olympic games (gymnastics, soccer, taekwondo, tennis, boxing, horseback riding, and fencing) and analyzed the formative characteristics of those not included the Olympic games (baseball, skin scuba, motorcycles) but gave inspiration to designers. Also, due to the inspiration they give designers, sweat suits with detail lines of different numbers that are worn commonly regardless of which game were included. Moreover, modern sports fashion trend was realized by dividing it into simplicity, futuristic, dynamic, sensuality, and functionality. Second, to apply the manufacturing techniques, slash technique concept was studied, the Renaissance period centered method of expression and aesthetic characteristics of slash technique was looked at, and case analysis on modern fashion design analysis centering overseas collection that used slash technique was carried out. Actual product was designed and produced. The results of the research through production work are as follows. First, laser cutting technique was applied to use the slash technique on neoprene fabric. It can be seen that laser cutting using Adobe Illustrator is effective in producing exact size and pattern. However, bright fabric made a rubber blackening phenomenon which is the nature of neoprene fabric. Therefore, it was realized that the front and back direction choice needs to be made when using laser cutting. Second, it was verified that the neoprene fabric was able to show solid shapes due to its elastic rubber property, hemline handling is not needed because the ply does not come undone, it is double-sided, and it is a material suited for the slash technique. Third, after applying the distinctive element of each sportswear per event to the design, it was proven suitable to symbolically express sports fashion. For example, it was possible to design a sporty sensation by giving details such as uniform gown of boxers, details of the motorcycle uniform, 2/3-lined sweat suits, raglan sleeve and shibori of baseball jackets, and two-way zipper used for functional sportswear. Also, it was possible to design a new sports fashion using a composition of material and color. Fourth, in addition to the slash technique, using the tying, knot technique, twist technique gave slash decoration a solid and a sense of space. Henceforth in the future, leisure and health will become more important, sports fashion will gain more attention, and it is hoped that the functional fashion that moves across the boundary between suits and sportswear will continue to be studied.;19세기말 근대사회로 변화되는 과정에서 부의 확장에 의한 여가시간의 증가와 레제 생활의 확산으로 인한 스포츠 발달과 스포츠 문화가 확산됨에 따라 스포츠는 현대사회에서 정치, 경계, 예술 영화 TV, 광고, 디자인 등 문화전반에 막대한 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히 스포츠는 패션에 가장 중대한 영향을 미친 요인 중의 하나로 평가되고 있으며, 스포츠웨어는 단순히 스포츠를 위한 기능성과 활동성뿐만 아니라 개성과 미적 욕구를 충족시 킬 수 있는 패션성을 갖춘 ‘스포츠 패션’으로 발전되었다. 즉 생활 속에 편안함, 쾌적함과 함께 기능성을 추구하는 방향으로 전개되어 스포츠웨어가 일상복으로 입혀지는 경향이 보이고 있다. 또한, 테크놀로지는 액티브 스포츠용품의 신체적 쾌적감을 증진시키고 신체를 보호하며 효율적인 활동성을 위해서 인체공학적인 유기적 형태의 디자인으로 개발되는데 기여하고 있다. 특히 패션에서는 최첨단으로 인식되는 혁신의 상당 부분이 신소재 개발을 통해 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 현상과 함께 최근 패션 컬렉션에 새롭게 조명되는 퓨처리스틱(futuristic) 스타일을 표현하는 방법으로 슬래쉬기법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 슬래쉬기법은 과장되고 과시적인 스타일을 추구한 르네상스 시대의 가장 특징적인 장식 기법으로 90년대 이후 최근까지 많은 디자이너들에게 사랑 받는 표현 방법이 되고 있다. 초기에는 펑크의 영향으로 반사회적인 저항을 표현하기 위한 젊음의 표현이었지만, 점차 슬래쉬 기법이 하이패션에 사용되면서 보다 과감하고 다양한 형태를 보여주고, 그 의미 역시 다양해지고 있다. 현재 슬래쉬기법을 응용한 다양한 시도가 나타나고 있지만 아직 더 많은 디자인 개발이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 슬래쉬기법을 디자인에 응용함으로써 스포츠패션 표현 영역을 확대하고자 한다. 또한, 소재는 단열성과 보온력이 좋고, 아방가르드 한 느낌을 만들어 낼 수 있어 최근 새로운 패션 소재로 각광 받고 있는 네오프렌을 사용하며, 컬러는 스포츠 패션에서 중요한 컬러 트렌드로 떠오르는 네온블루, 네온핑크, 옐로우그린을 사용하여 스포티(sporty)한 감성을 끌어내려 한다. 그에 따른 방법으로는 첫째, 선행 연구자들의 연구를 통해 스포츠 패션의 개념과 등장배경을 살펴보고, 스포츠 패션의 기원과 특징을 올림픽 종목인 체조, 축구, 태권도, 테니스, 복싱, 승마, 펜싱으로 분류 하였고, 올림픽 종목에는 해당되지 않지만 디자이너에게 영감을 원천으로 자주 사용되는 야구, 스킨스쿠버, 모터사이클을 추가 하여 유니폼의 조형적 특징을 분석하였다. 또한 어떤 종목을 막론하고 공통적으로 입혀지는 트레이닝복과 트레이닝복의 디테일 선인 한줄, 두줄, 세줄 선에서 디자이너들이 많은 영감을 받는 관계로 트레이닝복을 추가 하였다. 그리고 현대 스포츠 패션의 경향을 단순성, 미래지향성, 역동성, 관능성, 기능성으로 분류하여 파악하였다. 둘째, 제작 기법을 응용하고자 슬래쉬기법의 개념을 이해하고, 르네상스 시대 중심으로 표현 방법과 슬래쉬의 미적 특성을 살펴보며, 슬래쉬 기법을 응용한 현대 패션 디자인 사례 분석을 해외 컬렉션 중심으로 사례 분석 하였다. 이상의 연구를 토대로 실제 작품을 디자인하고 제작하였다. 작품 제작을 통한 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 네오프렌 원단을 슬래쉬기법을 응용하고자 레이저 컷팅기법을 적용하였다. Adobe Illustrater를 이용한 레이저 컷팅은 정확한 크기와 문양을 제작하는데 효과 적임을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 밝은색 원단은 네오프렌 원단의 특성으로 고무 그을리는 현상이 나타났다. 따라서 레이저 컷팅 시 컬러에 따라 앞․ 뒷면 방향 선택이 이루어져야 함을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 네오프렌 원단을 사용함으로써 고무성질의 탄력성으로 입체적인 형태감을 표현 할 수 있으며, 올이 풀리지 않아 끝단 처리가 필요 없고, 양면 사용이 가능하여, 슬래쉬 기법에 적합한 소재임을 확인 할 수 있었다. 셋째, 각 종목별 스포츠웨어의 특징적 요소를 디자인에 적용한 결과 스포츠 패션을 상징적으로 표현하기에 적합함을 알 수 있었다. 그 예로 복싱선수의 유니폼 가운, 모터사이클복의 디테일, 트레이닝선 2, 3줄 라인, 야구점퍼의 래글런 소매와 시보리, 기능성 스포츠웨어에 사용되어지는 투웨이 지퍼장식 등 디테일을 주어 스포티한 감각을 디자인 할 수 있었고, 소재와 컬러의 구성으로 새로운 스포츠 패션을 디자인 할 수 있었다. 넷째, 슬래쉬기법에 부가하여 묶기, 매듭기법, 트위스트 기법을 사용한 결과 슬래쉬 장식에 입체적 공간감을 부여할 수 있었다. 향후 미래에는 여가와 건강이 더욱 중요해지고, 스포츠패션은 더욱 주목 될 것이며 정장과 스포츠 웨어의 경계를 이동하는 기능적인 패션은 더욱 더 발전할 것이다. 이에 신소재 개발과 다양한 디자인 개발을 통해 스포츠 패션이 지속적으로 연구되어지길 바란다.
