수줍음과 공격성의 관계에서 또래 괴롭힘 피해와 대인불안의 매개효과 검증

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to enhance the understanding shyness in adolescents by researching their exposure level of peer victimization and the possibility of developing into interpersonal anxiety, in addition, proving how the negative experience and emotion influence of on aggression level. The subjects were 288 male and female 1st graders out of middle school located in Gyeong gi province. For analysis method, structural equating model test was conducted to verify the mediating effect of peer victimization and interpersonal anxiety in the relationship between shyness and aggression. Dual mediation model for peer victimization and interpersonal anxiety was set up in shyness and aggression relationship based on the precedent study. The results present that peer victimization served as a mediation effect in the relationship between shyness and aggression. In the relationship between shyness and aggression, interpersonal anxiety was significant mediation. Based on these result, it can be assumed that shyness develops into interpersonal anxiety in adolescent period, which also influence on aggression level. However, peer victimization held little influence on developing interpersonal anxiety. Considering its mere influence, studies on the other possible variants and its mechanisms should be followed up. This study has its’ significances in: covering significant subject, adolescent shyness distinguished from childhood and adulthood, negative influence of peer victimization on the relationship between shyness and aggression level, and verification of mediation effect on interpersonal anxiety. This provides the basis for the provision on which safe learning environment should be served to all the students including shy ones and follow up study on how to guide and consult the victims of peer victimization. It also implies the importance of developing and providing various programs for shy children to develop ways to control their anxieties and prevent an early stage of interpersonal anxiety.;본 연구의 목적은 수줍음이 있는 청소년에 대한 이해를 높이기 위해 수줍은 청소년이 또래 괴롭힘의 피해에 노출되는 정도와 대인불안으로 발전하는지에 대해 확인하고, 이러한 부정적인 경험과 정서가 공격성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 검증하는 것에 있다. 본 연구는 경기도에 위치하고 있는 중학교 1학년 남, 여학생 288명을 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 수줍음과 공격성의 관계에서 또래 괴롭힘과 대인불안의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 구조방정식 모형을 사용하였다. 이를 위해, 선행연구에 기초하여 수줍음과 공격성의 관계에서 또래 괴롭힘 피해와 대인불안의 이중매개모형을 설정하였다. 검증 결과 수줍음과 공격성의 관계에서 또래 괴롭힘의 피해가 매개효과를 나타냈다. 이는 청소년의 수줍음이 또래 괴롭힘의 피해에 영향을 미치며 이러한 부정적인 경험이 공격성에 영향을 미치는 효과를 나타내는 것이다. 수줍음과 공격성의 관계에서 대인불안의 매개효과 또한 유의하였다. 수줍음이 청소년기 대인불안으로 발전하고 공격성에도 영향을 미치는 효과를 짐작할 수 있다. 다만 또래 괴롭힘의 피해가 대인불안에 미치는 영향이 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 또래 괴롭힘의 피해와 대인불안의 관계 사이에서 다른 변인들이 존재할 가능성과 관련 변인들 간의 역동적인 메커니즘을 파악하는 후속연구가 이루어져야함을 시사한다. 본 연구는 유아기, 성인기와 구분되는 청소년기의 수줍음과 대인불안을 연구했다는 것과 수줍음과 공격성의 관계에서 또래 괴롭힘 피해의 부정적인 영향력, 그리고 대인불안의 매개효과를 확인할 수 있었다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. 이는 앞으로 교육현장에서 수줍은 청소년뿐만 아니라 모든 청소년에게 보다 안전한 환경을 제공해야 하는 근거를 제공하고, 또래 괴롭힘 피해를 경험한 청소년들을 어떻게 지도하고 상담해야 할 것인가에 대한 후속 연구의 필요성과 수줍음 기질을 가진 아이들을 대상으로 청소년 초기 대인불안으로 발전하지 않도록 불안을 스스로 다스릴 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 개발하고 제공하는 것이 얼마나 중요한 것인지 시사한다.
