손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기가 유아의 대인문제해결사고 및 감정조망수용능력에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets on Children's Interpersonal Cognitive Problem-solving and Affective Perspective-taking Ability. The meaning of this study is supply effective activities that make children reason conflict resolution strategies and be sensitive to the feelings of others for the field of early childhood education. The research assignments which were set about it are as follows: 1. Does the participation in conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets make differences in interpersonal cognitive problem-solving of four-years-old children? 2. Does the participation in conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets make differences in emotional perspective-taking ability of four-years-old children? The experiment was carried out to find out the influence on the interpersonal cognitive problem-solving and affective perspective-taking ability of four-years-old children by conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets. The object of study is 47 four-years-old children in A Kindergarten of Seoul. The experiment was lasted for 6 weeks from 25, March 2013 to 2, May 2013, and applied the 14 times of conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets to the experimental group. The conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets was collected conflict cases that often happens in the daily life of four-years-old children on the basis of conflict types classified by Malloy & Murray (1996), and was written with reference to the case of Kim Hee-itae (2004) and the guidebook of Dinkmeyer (1970). And the conflict-situation-discussion was carried out according to the discussion steps proposed by Lee Eun-hwa & Kim Young-ok (2008). In order to find out the level of interpersonal cognitive problem of infants, I used "Preschool Interpersonal Problem-solving" test which Shure (1992) developed and Younerstrom, Wolpaw, Kogos, Schoff, Ackerman, and Izard (2000) modified. and in order to measure emotional perspective-taking ability, I used the test tool modified and translated by Shin Hyeon-ok(1996) on the basis of the test tool of emotional perspective-taking ability by Hudson, Forman and Brion-Meisels (1982). In order to investigate the effect of experiments, I analyzed the differences by t-test after doing pre-tests and post-tests about the experimental group and the comparative group. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets has been shown to promote interpersonal cognitive problem-solving of four-years-old children. Especially it showed a positive effect on the use of pro-social strategies in sub-areas of interpersonal cognitive problem-solving test. It can be interpreted as a fact that the experience of the conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets promote interpersonal cognitive problem-solving ability and positive problem-solving strategies of infants. Second, the conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets has been shown to make a positive impact on the affective perspective-taking ability of four-years-old children. It can be interpreted as a fact that using hand puppets make children to be sensitive to the feelings of others and to be able to have empathy with others. In conclusion, through the conflict-situation-discussion using hand puppets children solve conflict by themselves and it can be interpreted as a fact that having the opportunity to empathize with others make children develop interpersonal cognitive problem-solving and affective perspective-taking ability. These results shows that the process of discourse about conflict-situation has the meaning educationally in that solving conflict is not purpose(answer), the importance is in the process of solving conflict by themselves and understanding others.;본 연구는 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기가 유아의 대인문제해결사고와 감정조망수용능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였으며, 유아들이 갈등해결전략을 추론해보고 다른 사람의 감정에 민감해지도록 하는 효과적인 활동방안을 유아교육현장에 제공하는데 의의가 있다. 이와 관련하여 설정된 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기의 참여여부에 따라 만4세 유아의 대인문제해결사고에 차이가 있는가? 2. 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기의 참여여부에 따라 만4세 유아의 감정조망수용능력에 차이가 있는가? 본 연구는 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기가 만4세 유아의 대인문제해결사고와 감정조망수용능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 실험연구를 실시하였다. 연구대상은 서울시에 소재한 A공립초등학교병설유치원의 만4세반 유아 47명이며, 실험은 2013년 3월 25일부터 5월 2일까지 실험집단 유아들에게 총 6주에 걸쳐 14회의 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기 활동을 실시하였다. 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기는 Malloy와 Murray(1996)가 분류한 갈등유형에 기초하여 만4세 유아들의 일상생활에서 자주 일어나는 갈등의 사례를 수집하고, Dinkmeyer(1970)의 지침서와 김희태(2004)의 사례를 참고하여 작성하였다. 또한 이은화·김영옥(2008)이 제시한 토의단계에 따라 이야기 나누기를 진행하였다. 유아들의 대인문제해결사고의 수준을 알아보기 위해서는 Shure(1992)가 개발하고 Youngstrom, Wolpaw, Kogos, Schoff, Ackerman과 Izard(2000)가 수정한 ‘유아 대인간 문제해결(Preschool Interpersonal Problem Solving)’ 검사를 번안하여 사용하였으며, 유아의 감정조망수용능력을 측정하기 위해서는 Hudson, Forman과 Brion- Meisels(1982)의 조망수용능력검사도구를 기초로 신현옥(1996)이 수정ㆍ번안한 것을 사용하였다. 실험의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 실험집단과 비교집단을 대상으로 사전․사후검사를 실시하였으며, 그 차이에 대해 t 검정으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기 활동은 만4세 유아의 대인문제해결사고를 증진시키는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 대인문제해결사고검사의 하위 영역 중 친사회적 전략의 사용에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 유아교육기관에서 손인형을 활용하여 갈등상황에 대해 이야기를 하는 경험이 유아의 대인문제해결사고능력을 증진시키며, 긍정적인 문제해결전략을 발달시키는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 둘째, 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기 활동은 만4세 유아의 감정조망수용능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 유아가 손인형을 통해 갈등상황을 바라보고 다른 유아들과 함께 생각과 느낌을 나누면서 좀 더 다른 사람의 감정에 잘 공감하고 이입할 수 있게 된 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 결론적으로 손인형을 활용한 갈등상황 이야기 나누기를 통해 유아 스스로 갈등을 해결하고 다른 사람의 감정을 공감하는 기회를 갖게 되면서 대인문제해결사고와 감정조망수용능력이 발달된 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 결과는 갈등을 해결하는 데 정답이 있는 것이 아니라 스스로 해결하고 다른 사람의 입장에서 이해하는 과정을 중시하는 이야기 나누기의 과정이 교육적으로 의미가 있음을 시사한다.
