교회 내 성폭력 피해 여성의 치유를 위한 목회상담적 고찰

Abstract

본 논문은 대부분 남성 목회자와 여성 신도 사이에서 왜곡된 성서적 메시지나 믿음 체계를 이용하여 발생하는 교회 내 성폭력 피해 여성의 치유를 위한 목회상담적 돌봄을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이러한 목적을 위해 교회 내 성폭력에 대한 이해와 더불어 기독교적 자원을 활용하여 교회 내 성폭력 피해 여성들의 치유를 위한 목회상담적 방법론을 제안하였다. 성폭력은 피해자와 피해자의 가족에 이르기까지 심각한 신체적, 심리적, 정신적, 사회적 후유증을 남기며 전반적인 삶의 영역에 매우 파괴적인 결과를 가져다준다. 그런데 교회의 구성원 사이에서 발생하는 교회 내 성폭력은 일반 성폭력과 유사점도 있지만 왜곡된 성서적 메시지나 믿음 체계를 이용하여 성폭력이 이루어지는 점에서 독특한 양상을 보이고 신학적인 문제점들까지 초래한다. 신학적 이유로 자행되는 교회 내 성폭력은 피해 여성들로 하여금 판단력을 상실하게 하여 자신들의 경험을 제대로 인식할 수 없게 한다. 따라서 오랜 기간 동안 지속적으로 성폭력 상황에 노출시키며 그 피해가 다수로 이어진다. 성폭력 상황을 인식한 후에는 용서나 사랑과 같은 기독교 윤리적 덕목들로 인하여 신앙적 혼란에 빠진다. 더불어 기독교 전통 속에서 교육받은 여성들이 대부분 남성적 하나님 형상을 형성하고 있기 때문에 하나님은 남성 목회자의 편에 서서 자신들의 상황에 별 도움을 줄 수 없다고 여겨 신앙적 위기에 놓이게 된다. 그러므로 교회 내 성폭력을 다루는데 있어서 정서적인 측면뿐만 아니라 영적인 측면까지 고려하여 다루어져야 한다. 그러므로 본 논문은 교회 내 성폭력 피해 여성을 위해 여성 억압적인 요소들이 많은 기독교 자원을 밝히는 작업과 교회 내 성폭력과 관련된 신학적 문제를 밝히는 목회신학적 논의를 하였다. 목회상담의 특징은 내담자의 심리적 어려움을 돕는 것과 더불어 내담자가 하나님과의 관계를 올바르게 정립하도록 도와주고 기독교적 자원을 활용하는 것에 있다. 본 논문은 교회 내 성폭력 피해 여성들의 치유에 있어서 부정적인 영향을 미치는 기독교적 자원을 밝히는 것과 동시에 기독교적 자원을 활용한 목회상담적 돌봄의 방법을 제안하였다. 사회와 교회는 여성이 목소리를 내지 못하도록 억압하여 왔다. 그러나 시편의 고백들은 찬양과 감사부터 분노와 과잉 살육, 복수심을 자유롭게 드러내는 인간 본연의 목소리라고 주장하는 월터 브루그만(Walter Brueggemann)의 시편 이해에 따라 하나님 앞에서 언어적 자유로움을 가지고 부정적인 감정을 표현하는 시편의 탄식시를 활용하여 교회 내 성폭력 피해 여성의 위한 돌봄의 방법을 제안하였다. 시편의 탄식시를 만남으로써 성폭력 피해 여성들은 부정적인 감정을 긍정하고 수용 받는 경험을 할 수 있을 것이며 자신의 감정을 제대로 인식할 수 있는 계기가 될 것이다. 이로 인해 여성을 억압해 오던 성서의 메시지는 해방의 메시지로 전환될 것이고 남성적 하나님 형상은 피해 여성의 고통을 들어주며 고통 속에 함께 머물러주는 분으로 다르게 인식되어 하나님과의 관계를 회복하고 신앙적 위기에서 벗어날 수 있게 될 것이라고 여긴다.; This paper aimed to explore pastoral counseling and care to heal female victims of sexual violence between male pastors and female believers within churches due to distorted biblical messages or faith systems. In order to fulfill this purpose, this study suggested a way of pastoral counseling methods to heal these women by using Christian resources and understanding the issue that is similar to general types of sexual violence but also causes crises in faith and theology. Sexual violence will leave serious physical, psychological, mental and social aftermaths to victims and their families both, leading to destruction of their entire lives. Sexual violence in churches happen most generally between male pastors and female believers. This shares in common with general sexual violence that destroys human lives. However, there are unique features as it takes place based on distorted biblical messages or faith systems, causing theological problems. This violence will disable women to properly understand their experiences and expose them to long-term violence. This can be extended to a large number of believers, too. Also, women who have received education containing Christian ethical virtues such as forgiveness and love will fall victims to chaos in their faith. As these women have been subject to education under Christian tradition and established their understanding of male God, they will think that God will be on the pastor's side and won't help them, which is a crisis in terms of faith. Hence, this study identified Christian resources filled with suppressive elements against these victims and discussed pastoral and theological issues to clarify such issues. The goal of pastoral counseling is to help clients to overcome psychological problems and establish proper relationships with God while using Christian resources. This paper presented Christian resources negatively influencing healing of female victims of sexual violence in churches and suggested methods of care based on pastoral counseling using Christian resources. The society and churches have oppressed women not to make their voices heard. However, based on Walter Brueggemann's understanding that confessions in the Psalm are the human voices freely expressing exaltation, gratitude, anger, excessive killing, and revengeful feelings, this study suggested a method of care for these victims by using laments in the Psalm which allow negative feelings under linguistic freedom in God. As women read the laments in the Psalm, they will experience accepting and taking negative feelings and have a chance to recognize their own feelings appropriately. This will make a shift of biblical messages which have suppressed women to messages of liberation. At the same time, the form of male God will listen to a female victim's suffering. God will be recognized somewhat differently in a way to help victims to recover their relationships with God and escape from the crisis met in terms of faith.
