켈트 영성과 선한 창조 안에서의 악의 문제

Abstract

본 논문은 하나님의 형상으로 지음 받은 인간만이 만물을 지배하고 다스려야 한다는 기독교의 왜곡된 생각에서 벗어나 모든 만물이 상생하며 공존하는 길로 나아갈 수 있는 그 변화의 대안을 기독교 역사 안에서 오랜 시간 덮어두었던 켈트 전통에서 찾아보고자 한다. 켈트 기독교는 그동안 서구 정통신학에서 주목받지 못해온 기독교 내 신비주의 영성이었다. 이에 본 연구자는 지금까지 교회 안에서 의심을 넘어 위험한 것으로 간주되어온 켈트 기독교 영성이 지구적 생태 위기에 응답할 수 있는 소중한 신학적 자산으로 기능할 수 있음을 밝히고자 한다. 먼저 켈트 영성을 대표하는 펠라기우스는 선함을 지닌 창조의 본래성과 하나님의 형상을 지닌 인간을 설명하였다. 그런데 인간이 잘못된 행위를 하게 되어 선이 가려지는 것을 악이라고 설명하였다. 같은 사상적 흐름을 이어가고 있는 에리우게나도 하나님은 온 생명의 본질이고, 모든 만물이 하나님의 빛 가운데 존재하기 때문에 본질적으로 창조는 선하다는 견해를 가지고 있다. 또한 요한의 전통을 중요하게 생각했지만 동시에 베드로의 전통 또한 간과하지 않고 두 전통의 중요성을 강조한다. 마지막으로 에크하르트는 피조물 안에서 하나님과의 경험을 강조하며, 비우고 그대로 둠으로써 부정의 길을 탐구해야한다고 말한다. 이러한 비움이 뒤에는 하나님의 나타나심을 경험하게 되는데, 에크하르트는 돌파라는 말을 통해 하나님과 하나 되는 과정을 설명한다. 이처럼 공통적으로 나타나는 켈트 영성가들의 사상을 통해서 켈트 영성의 특징을 도출할 수 있다. 켈트 영성은 우주가 영원한 존재의 자궁에서 나왔다는 믿음을 전제로 하며, 모든 만물 안에 있는 조화에 대한 기억이신 켈트 그리스도의 이미지를 가지고 있다. 그래서 그리스도는 우리에게 우주에서 가장 강한 음표는 바로 사랑이라고 일러 주시는 것이다. 이러한 사랑의 관점으로 온 우주를 바라보게 되면 모든 만물이 함께하는 하나의 찬송이 이루어지고, 그 노래는 하나님의 중심을 공유하여 더 풍성해지고 다채로워지는 켈트 영성의 특징을 보여준다. 그러나 뉴엘의 켈트 영성 연구는 창조가 원인이 되어 발생하는 고통과 아픔에 대한 구체적인 언급 없이 창조의 선함만을 강조한다. 이와 같은 주장은 삶의 모든 슬픔과 기쁨을 당당하게 마주한 켈트 영성의 본모습을 제대로 보여주지 못하는 것이다. 그리고 악의 문제를 창조의 선함이라는 대전제 아래 포괄해버리는 선의 전체주의적 관점도 뉴엘 연구에 있어서 한계로 남는다.;This thesis aims to discuss Celtic Christianity focusing on a win-win and coexistence of all things. It elinamtes the distorted thinking that only a human being with the image of God can rule over all nature. Celtic Christianity is mysticism spirituality that has not been received attention in Western traditional theology for hundreds years. It has been regarded as a dangerous spirituality in the church. However, it may be one of the valuable theological assets, which can change the global ecologic crisis to a firmly stable circumstances. The first characteristic of Celtic spirituality is that the universe started in the womb of eternal being. This can help us discover the origin of all creation that is often forgotten and realize the dangerousness of human chauvinism and being captured by narrow-mindedness. The second characteristic is the Celtic Christ who has the memory of harmony in all things. Celtic Christ helps us memorize our true selves and reminds us as we live in the global system. A third characteristic, Celtic Christ shows that Love is the most powerful note in the universe. The Celts have believed that Love is a beat of life and it is the strongest sound when the universe spreads out. This leads the entire universe to love perspective. Lastly, there is a song that all creation can participate in. This song has derived from the center of God Being and we can share the same center through it. The more we are connected closely in relationship of the created world, the more colorful the song will be. The characteristics of Celtic spirituality are found by spiritual people in a study by Philip Newell. According to his study, Pelagius has explained essential nature and human beings who has been created in the image of God. Thus the goodness might be hidden or secreted by evil. Also, Eriugena has thought that the God is the essence of all life because everything is in middle of the God's light. He also has regarded the tradition of John as important as the tradition of Peter. He has emphasized the harmony of two traditions. Lastly, Eckhart has emphasized the divine experience within all creation and explained via negative. He has mentioned the oneness of the God by breakthrough. According to Newell's mentions, he is inclined to more emphasize the goodness of creation rather than evil of creation. Whereas author would like to bring natural disasters into question, because it always happens to the problem of evil about creation in daily life and it is not the world of fullness of the God's grace and love without any more suffering of people from natural disaster. The author wants to point out that the Newell's opinion just maintaining only goodness of the creation makes Celtic spirituality romanticized. Also Author considers that Newell's opinion might cause totalitarianism of goodness.
