무용창작작품 「Lucid Dream」에 나타난 키덜트 성향에 관한 연구

Abstract

오늘날 현대인들은 급속도로 정보화된 사회와 갈수록 심해지는 각박한 일상 속에서 벗어나 풍요로운 삶을 추구하고자 다양한 방법을 통해 즐거움을 찾는다. 힘들고 지친 일상에서 아무 걱정도 없고 순수했던 아동기나 유아기 시절을 그리워하던 현대인들은 어린아이와 같은 유쾌하고 재미있는 것을 추구하여 심적 위안을 얻고자 한다. 이처럼 행복하고 편안한 삶에 의미를 두고 즐거움을 누리려는 사회적 분위기 가운데 키덜트(Kidult)가 문화코드로 등장하면서 대중문화와 순수예술 분야에서도 키덜트를 활용한 시도가 다각적으로 이루어지고 있고 이러한 현상은 사회문화 전반에 걸쳐 확대되며 그 가치가 중시되고 있다. 키덜트 문화는 기계화되고 획일화된 사회에서 자아정체성을 탐구하는 개인의 개성표출과 어린 시절의 향수를 통해서 현실에서 도피하려는 현대인의 일탈심리 표출로 출현하였으며 특정 연령의 세대를 지칭하는 것이 아니고 전 연령에 걸쳐 폭넓게 존재하는 현상이다. 따라서 본 연구자는 이러한 사회문화의 흐름 속에서 무용작「Lucid Dream」(2012)을 창작하였고 이를 통해 사회의 불안과 긴장 속에서 삶의 위기를 느끼는 현대인들에게 키덜트 현상이 주는 긍정적인 영향력을 인식시키고자 하였다. 무용창착작품「Lucid Dream」은 사회현상인 키덜트를 주제로 하였고, 현대인의 미성숙한 내면이 현실에서 받은 스트레스와 상처가 회복되는 키덜트 현상을 통해 치유되는 과정을 표현하였다. 이 과정은 무용수의 심리 변화에 초점을 맞추며 총 3장으로 내용을 구성하였고, 무대에서의 이동경로와 움직임, 오브제의 이미지를 통해 작품을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1장은 겉모습만 어른이 되어버린 아이어른이 현실 속에서 불안함과 두려움을 느끼는 심리를 나타낸 장면으로 무용수가 진회색우비를 입고 등장한다. 이 오브제는 ‘겉모습만 어른인 모습’을 상징하며 각박한 현실에 놓여있는 아이어른을 의미한다. 무대 뒤쪽 상수와 하수를 좁은 범위로 사용하며 제한적인 움직임을 보이고 느린 템포로 낮은 수평적 평면을 사용하며 상징적인 공간으로 설정된 무대 상수 뒤쪽에 우비를 벗어 두고 점차적으로 움직임을 확장시켜 현실에서 벗어나고 싶은 심리를 표현하였다. 2장은 현실세계와 직면하게 된 아이어른이 내면의 경계에서 혼란스러워하지만 그 안에서 희망을 발견하여 자신의 동심을 통해 행복을 느끼는 모습을 표현하였다. 작은 전구로 장식된 빛나는 하얀 튀튀를 직접 착용하여 작품의 절정을 표현해주는 매체로 사용하였으며 자신의 어린 시절을 기억함으로써 행복감을 느끼는 심리상태를 확장된 빛으로 상징하였고, 동심으로 돌아가 심적으로 치유 되는 과정을 이미지화 하였다. 1장과는 대조적으로 무대의 중앙을 중심으로 하여 좌, 우의 공간을 넘나들며 넓게 활용한다. 턴 동작이나 높은 레벨의 뛰는 동작들에서 표출되는 에너지강한 움직임을 보이며 감정의 상태가 정점에 이르는 모습을 표현 한다. 마지막으로 3장은 동심을 통해 행복을 되찾고 다시 현실세계로 돌아가는 모습으로 마음의 안식을 되찾은 후 무대 상수 뒤쪽에 벗어놓은 우비를 다시 잡으며 현실과 직면할 준비를 한다. 이전에 억압된 이미지로 보여 졌던 것과는 달리 우비를 자유자재로 다루며 무대 상수 뒤에서 하수 뒤쪽을 향해 길 조명을 따라 천천히 퇴장한다. 이처럼 긍정적으로 현실을 극복한 모습을 보여주며 작품이 마무리된다. 무용창작작품「Lucid Dream」은 급변하는 사회 속에서 키덜트 현상이 주는 긍정적인 영향력과 가치를 인식시키고 이러한 예술 창작 활동을 통하여 치열한 경쟁과 일상에 지친 우리 현대인들에게 마음의 치유와 새로운 활력을 충전해 주고자 하였다. 또한 오늘날 키덜트가 사회적으로 부상하여 이미 미술의 영역에서는 활발하게 적용되고 있고 이를 활용한 디자인을 다양한 산업에서도 응용하고 있듯이 무용창작 활동에서도 키덜트가 새로운 모티브로써 다양한 형태로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.;In contemporary society, people seek pleasure through various means to escape the hard daily routines amid the rapid advancement of information-based society and to lead prosperous. Contemporary people, who long for their pure childhood or toddler period in which they had no worries, pursue pleasant and interesting things, like children, to seek psychological comfort in their hard and exhausting daily routines. With a growing number of people seeking to put an emphasis on the happy and comfortable lives and have pleasure, the Kidult has emerged as a cultural code and many attempts have been made in multifaceted ways to apply the Kidult in the mass culture and pure culture sectors. This phenomenon has been spread to overall social culture and has taken on an added significance in terms of the value. The Kidult culture emerged as a manifestation of the personality of individuals who explore the self-identity in the society characterized by the mechanization and once-size-fits-all stereotype, and represents the reflection of contemporary people's desire to escape the reality through the nostalgia for childhood. It is a phenomenon that exists widely for people of all age, not referring to the particular age group. Thus, this researcher created the 「Lucid Dream」(2012), a dance artwork, based on such social cultural trends, and through that, attempted to raise the awareness towards the positive influence of Kidult for contemporary people who feel the crisis of life amid the social instability and tension. 「Lucid Dream」(2012), a dance artwork, was themed around the Kidult, a social phenomenon, and expressed the healing process through the Kidult phenomenon in which the contemporary people with inner immaturity experience the alleviation of stress and healing of scars. This process focuses on the psychological changes of dancers and consists of three Chapters. The results of the analysis of the artwork, which was conducted through the use of stage space, movement motion of dancers, image of object, can be summarized as follows. Chapter 1 presents a scene expressing the anxiety and fear felt by the grown-ups who are still a baby inside, and features the dancer dressed in dark gray raincoat. This object symbolizes the adult-child who is adult only the outside, and means the adult child facing the hard reality. The upstage and downstage behind the stage was used based on narrow range to present the limited movement and motions, and the low horizontal plane was applied with slow pace. The psychology pursuing the escape from reality was expressed by the motion of taking off the raincoat at the back of the upstage which was set as the symbolic space and gradually expanding the movement and motion. Chapter 2 presented the adult children's discovery of hope and experience of happiness through the innocence of childhood although they are confused at the inner boundary when they face the reality. The gleaming white tutu, decorated with small bulb, is directly worn by the dancer and thus serves the function of expressing the climax of the artwork. The psychological state in which they recollect their childhood and feel the happiness was symbolized by the expanded illumination, and furthermore the process by which they experience the psychological healing based on the innocence of childhood was represented visually. In contrast to the Chapter 1, the movement and motion covered the left and right space from the center of the stage, thus utilizing the space broadly. The turning motion and jumping act of high level show the energetic movement expressed from the motions, and embodied the process in which the emotional state reached the climax. Finally, Chapter 3 shows the discovery of happiness through the innocence of childhood and the preparation to face the reality by returning to the real world, regaining the peace of mind, and picking up the raincoat from the rear side of the upstage. The dancer disappears slowly while handling the raincoat adroitly, following the trail of lights, towards the backside of downstage, unlike the previous suppressed image. In this way, the artwork is finalized by presenting the way that the reality is overcome based on the positive attitude. 「Lucid Dream」, the creative dance artwork, attempted to make contemporary people perceive the positive influence and value of Kidult phenomenon in the rapidly changing society and add new vitality and healing of mind through this creative artistic activity for the people in the contemporary society who face the cutthroat competition and hard routine. In addition, the Kidult may be used in various forms as new motif for creative dance activities as it has come into limelight in the society and has been already applied actively in the fine art area, and furthermore, the designs using the Kidult has been applied extensively in various industries.
