- Many companies, not only Korean but also foreign, in Korea require their applicants’ Oral Proficiency Interview-computer based (OPIc) or Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) scores and a spoken English job interview. As is well known, it is important for Koreans, especially university students, to improve their English proficiency. This portfolio is targeted at12 pre-sessional students studying in their fourth year in university, who are about 22 ~ 24 years old living in Seoul. Since they major in marketing in college, they want to work in marketing-related fields in Korea. Since several companies in Korea allow graduating students to apply for their available positions, they place ads to hire new recruits either the first or second half of every year. Thus, the target students for this portfolio want to study practical English to help them to prepare for a job search, business English skills, and working in both multinational and Korean corporations in Korea.
