현대사회에서 나타나는 페르소나적 미의 집착 표현연구

Abstract

While we live getting along with others, there would be an experience that we have thrown a question to ourselves thinking like this ‘Was I such a person?’. This would be a question which oneself of the inner side throws to me due to the sense of difference that feels occasionally in living with putting on the persona which was made due to the desire that others want and I want to being seen to others. In the modern society that is developed and changes rapidly, as we had to have much more abilities in comparison with the past and many more relations were formed due to that, more and more various personas became formed. Originally, as the persona is a concept which mediates a personal inner mental function and a function of the world around that individual, it is true that it has a positive propensity that makes the adaptation to the society possible and helps deal with complicated affairs of modern life. However, due to the expansion of persona in which the self and the persona are equated each other, there were many cases in which we live considering the persona as one’s own self and as the persona made constantly by social requirement or oneself who wants it is eventually connected to the obsession for the persona, it is to become to lose the oneself. This study intends to show our current images that appear due to such a phenomenon through the work. It is said that the beauty is the pulchritude giving a good feeling to the human through the sensory organs like the eyes and the obsession is a thing that the mind always could not focus on the something and is hanging. It is that our images that want to find the true oneself and are not able to get out of other’s eyes at the same time and may be making a new persona again today to wrap oneself beautifully are the obsession over the beauty of a sort of persona. As setting a premium on the other’s eyes, we become to obsess over the appearance after all and such a phenomenon could show with the obsession over the brand or high spec and the social status. The studier, by comparing the fine spec among the phenomena which show in the modern times to the prison or the routine, the stuff to the brand and the uniqueness to the diamond which is a symbol for the high price, intends to demonstrate the situation in which we are confined at the inside of that eventually due to the obsession and such an obsession is repeated and moreover, the conflict between the persona which might be an illusion and the self. I thought that when it comes to the method of expression, as the op art causes the tension and the visual confusion for the watcher by using the optical illusion and the compelling color contrast, it is well suitable for the theme of this study. With this study as a momentum, the studier attached the meaning to offer an opportunity that the individual could think about oneself’s countless personas which was made in living the modern society and about which image my image that the self of inner side wants is through my work. I hope that it becomes an opportunity that could think about the importance of self and about the true happiness for us who live looking only the front with attuning to the frame which others had made.;우리는 타인과 함께 어울려 생활하는 동안 문득 '내가 이런 사람이었나?'하고 자기 자신에게 질문을 던진 경험이 있을 것이다. 이것은 타인이 원하고 내가 타인에게 보여지기 원하는 욕구로 인해 만들어진 페르소나를 쓰고 살아가다가 가끔씩 느껴지는 이질감으로 인해 내면 자신이 나에게 던지는 질문일 것이다. 급속도로 발전하고 변화해 가는 현대사회 속에서 우리는 과거에 비해 더 많은 능력을 갖추어야 하고 그로 인해 더 많은 관계가 형성되어 더욱 더 다양한 페르소나가 생기게 되었다. 본래 페르소나는 개인의 내적 정신 기능과 그 개인을 둘러싼 세상의 기능을 중재하는 개념으로 사회에 적응을 가능하게 하며 현대생활의 복잡한 사건들에 대처하기 위한 긍정적 성향이 있는 것이 사실이다. 하지만 자아와 페르소나가 동일시되는 페르소나의 팽창으로 인하여 우리는 페르소나가 자기 자신의 본 모습인양 살아가는 경우가 많이 있고, 사회적인 요구에 의해 혹은 자신이 원하여 지속적으로 만들어지는 페르소나는 결국 페르소나의 집착으로 연결되어 자기 자신을 잃어 가는 것이다. 본 연구는 이러한 현상으로 인해 나타나는 우리들의 현 모습을 작품을 통해 보여주고자 한다. 미는 눈 따위의 감각기관을 통하여 인간에게 좋은 느낌을 주는 아름다움이라 하였고, 집착이란 어떤 것에 늘 마음이 쏠려 잊지 못하고 매달리는 것이라 하였다. 진정한 자기 자신을 찾고 싶어 함과 동시에 타인의 시선을 벗어나지 못하고 자신을 아름답게 포장하려 오늘도 새로운 페르소나를 만들고 있을지 모르는 우리들의 모습이 페르소나적 미의 집착인 것이다. 타인의 시선을 중요하게 생각 하다 보니 결국 겉모습에 집착하게 되고 그러한 현상은 브랜드에 대한 집착이나 높은 스펙과 사회적 지위 등으로 나타날 수 있다. 본 연구자는 현대에서 보여지는 현상 중 좋은 스펙을 감옥 혹은 틀로, 물건은 브랜드, 유니크함은 고가의 상징인 다이아몬드에 비유하여 집착으로 인해 결국 그 속에 갇히고, 그러한 집착이 반복되는 상황, 또한 허상일지도 모르는 페르소나와 자아와의 갈등을 작품을 통해표현하고자 한다. 표현 방법에 있어 옵아트는, 착시효과와 강한 색상의 대비를 사용하여 보는 이로 하여금 긴장감과 시각적 혼동을 일으키기 때문에, 현대사회에서 나타나는 페르소나와 자아와의 혼란과 갈등을 표현하고자 하는 본 연구의 주제와 잘 맞는다고 생각하였다. 본 연구자는 이번 연구를 계기로 본인의 작품을 통해 개개인이 현대 사회를 살아가면서 만들어진 무수한 자신의 페르소나에 대해 생각해 보고 내면 자신이 원하는 나의 모습은 어떤 모습인지 생각해 볼 수 있는 기회를 제공하는데 의미를 두었다. 타인이 만들어 놓은 틀에 맞추어 앞만 보고 살아가는 우리에게 자아에 중요성에 대해 생각을 하며 진정한 행복에 대해 생각해 볼 수 있는 기회가 되었으면 한다.
