한국희곡에 나타난 여성관

Abstract

現代에는 韓國女性이 男性과 거의 같은 權利를 누릴 수 있다는 것을 否定 할 수는 없을 것이지만, 약 반세기전만 하여도 韓國의 女性은 一種의 奴隸같은 生活을 하였다. 奴隸라고 까지는 表現되지 않았지만 信性이 거의 無視되고, 自己運命의 開拓者기 보다는, 自身의 運命이 家族制度나 社會制度에 依해 크게 좌우됐다. 그들의 生活은 단지 生存이 있을 뿐 삶의 보람이나 價値觀을 찾아서 建設해 가는 것은 아니었다. 이러한 급격한 女性의 地位의 變化를 다 각도로 分析하면 여러 가지 原因과 結果가 나오겠지만 이러한 硏究는 아직도 實驗的단계 내지는, 理論의 定立段階를 지나야만 可能한 것이다. 따라서 本稿는 時代的인 側面에서 각 時代마다 나타나는 女性像을 捕捉해 나갔다. 보는 觀点에 따라서 같은 韓國의 女性이면서도 여러 가지의 女性像이 있을 수 있는 것이다. 社會的인 제요소의 作用과 半作用, 時代的인 흐름의 歷史性과 必然性은 어느 정도 共通되는 女性像을 만들고 있다. 演劇이 社會의 反映이라는 것은 再論할 必要도 없지만 韓國이 日帝下에 있을때의 文化의 沈滯로 이렇다 할만한 演劇이 없었다는 것과 西洋文物이 들어오면서부터 그 影響은 여러 戱曲作品에서 찾을 수 있다는 점을 생각하면 더욱 뚜렷하다. 그리고 女性像과 같이 意味가 쉽게 잡히지 않는 까다로운 硏究에 있어서는 戱曲이 가장 適當한 資料로 여겨진다. 그래서 本稿에서는 戱曲作品을 中心으로 했다. 韓國의 女性들은 예로부터 演劇을 즐겨 했는데 이런 것은 그들이 現實에서는 찾지 못하는 情緖的인 滿足, 人間的인 欲望을 演劇속에서 發見하는 때문인지도 모른다. 끝으로 이 論文에 나타난 韓國의 女性像을 볼 때, 그것은 永遠히 변해가는 過程이지 하나의 固定된 觀念이 아닌 것이다. 그리고 그 변하는 가장 큰 原因은 女性自身이 그들을 어떻게 생각하는가 하는 self-concept 가 변하기 때문이다. 女性自身이 스스로 奴隸같이 생각하면 그러한 生活을 했고, 그들 自身을 創造할 수 있는 人間이라고 믿으면 그들은 價値創造를 할 수 있는 것이다. 現代엔 自己自身의 判斷에 따라서 事態를 보다 많이 把握하며 結果도 自身이 責任지게 되었다. 男便中心柱義, 女性解放運動은 어느 것도 이상적인 韓國女性像에 適合한 것일 수는 없는 것이다. 男子와 女子가 서로를 認定하면서 尊重하는 것, 그리고 人間本能을 무조건 抑制하는게 아니라 되도록 人間本能의 狀態로 가기 위해서 努力하는 것이 보다 나은 女性像을 만드는데 밑거름이 된다.;At present, no one would argue that women in Korea have the vary same right just as men do in almost all field. But, he might want to add that; as late as 50 years ago, Korean women led a kind of slave life. This may never expressed in such a term, but is understood. The ladies were part of the home, but, in the true sense of meaning, home life is not part of the Korean ladies. If we examine the every possible reasons, we may find some cause and effect of this sudden changes. But this kind of research is still in empirical stage or theory development stage. This paper strive to analyze the several images of Korean women divided by the different period of time. Though, the images could be the several, and the methods to study could be various, we often could find an ever lasting images from the written dramas. It goes without saying that a drama is a reflcction of the society. When Korea was under Japanese control, there was little written drama to discuss about. And the time the Western culture begins to influence the Korean society, we can find the vivid evidence from the various dramas. It is far more true that a drama could be a main sources to study a delicate matter such as the image of Korean women. The written drama, therefore, is considerably quoted to this paper. Korean women are very interested in seeing the dramas. It is mainly because the dramas provide some emotional outlets for the ladies. Traditional society had so many not to do things and taboos which prohibit the normal emotional avenue. Finally, this paper concludes that the images of Korean women is continuing process rather than a fixed one. And the main cause of changing image might be the ever changing self-concept of women. Now, they tend to stick to their own interpretation of situation. Husband oriented system as well as women liberation type neither can be an ideal situation for the image of Korean women. A common expectation of justice between man and wife, and selective adaption to human nature rather than in attempting to make human nature conform to one side wish can provide the best setting for the ideal images of the women.
