평균율에서의 조화도 향상을 위한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the best temperament system by comparing temperament systems that used in western music. However, there is no perfect temperament system. Since modern age, Equal temperament has been used as a compromise of many temperaments. Equal temperament has decentralized and mitigated concentration of dissonance in the specific interval, which happened in the temperament system. In addition, an advantage of the temperament system was that it did not have any problems in modulation since it is at regular intervals. However, each interval and harmony is not in the integer ratio except octave, there is a problem that dissonance is generated. To solve this problem, this study examined the way to mitigate the dissonance part. This study propose a consonance algorithm based on equal temperament to improve perfect fifth, major third, and major six intervals by using Plomp and Levelt's theory.;본 논문에서는 서양음악에 사용되었던 여러 조율체계를 알아보고, 비교함으로써 최적의 조율체계를 찾아내고자 하였다. 주지하는 바와 같이 완벽한 조율체계는 존재하지 않으며, 여러 음률체계의 타협안으로 제시된 평균율이 근대 이후에 주로 사용되고 있다. 평균율은 특정 음정 간격에 부조화(dissonance) 집중, 전조의 어려움과 같은 조율 체계상에서의 여러 문제들을 완화시켰고, 모든 반음의 간격이 같아 전조를 하는데 아무런 문제가 없다는 장점이 있어, 근대 이후의 거의 모든 음악에 가장 많이 사용되고 연주되고 있다. 하지만 옥타브를 제외한 각 음정이나 화음이 정확한 정수비가 아니기 때문에 옥타브를 제외한 모든 화음에서 부조화가 발생하는 문제가 있다. 이러한 문제해결을 위해, 본 논문에서는 부조화 부분을 완화시키기 위한 방안을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는, 평균율을 기반으로, 완전5도, 장3도, 장6도를 Plomp와 Levelt의 조화도 이론을 바탕으로 조화도를 향상시키는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘을 MATLAB을 사용하여 조화도를 향상시킨 음원을 합성하였고, 청취평가를 통하여 조화도 향상을 확인하였다.
