리본을 응용한 웨딩드레스 디자인

Abstract

패션에 있어서 인간은 특정한 표현양식을 통해 시대의 사회적인 상황, 미적 가치, 자아를 표출한다. 웨딩드레스는 미적 규범이 엄격하여 변화하는 속성을 지닌 여느 패션에 비해 디자인이 획일화되고 보편화되어 있다. 결혼을 위한 특별한 의미를 담은 예복으로서의 기능을 갖기 때문에 일반복식과는 달리 보수적인 성향이 짙어 상대적으로 디자인의 변형폭이 좁은게 사실이다. 이러한 웨딩드레스의 성격은 현대에 와서는 특별히 어떠한 형식에 얽매이지 않는 시대의 양상에 따라 디자이너의 개성이 자유롭게 표현되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 패션의 다원화에 맞게 일회성에서 벗어난 웨딩드레스를 모색하는 동시에 수공예적인 리본장식의 확대로 개성있는 웨딩드레스의 고부가가치를 창출하려고 한다. 본 연구의 내용과 방법은 이론적 연구로서 문헌을 통해 웨딩드레스의 개념과 역사를 살펴보았다. 다목적 복식의 활용방법은 과거의 사례를 통해 확인하였고, 최근 콜렉션을 통해 다목적 웨딩드레스의 여러 사례를 표집, 분석하였다. 리본의 개념을 장식요소 안에서 알아보고 특성, 소재, 종류를 확대해 조사했다. 마지막으로 리본을 활용한 디자인을 유형분류하여 리본의 여성스럽고 우아하며 귀여운 이미지를 표현하고자 했다. 상기의 연구를 토대로 웨딩드레스의 다목적 용도와 리본의 장식성을 다양하게 디자인해 총 8점의 작품을 제작하였고, 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다목적 복식의 웨딩드레스는 평상복으로 착용가능한 활용적 가치를 지니므로 의복의 폐기시기를 단축하게 되어 경제성을 증가시킬 수 있으며 또한 다목적성의 다양한 시각적 효과는 현대소비자의 변화에 대한 끊임없는 욕구와 개성표현을 충족시키는 가능성을 제시할 수 있었다. 둘째, 리본장식의 활용으로 기능성을 강조한 웨딩드레스 디자인에 웨딩드레스 본연의 로맨틱하고 화려한 이미지가 부가되어 웨딩드레스의 아름다움을 증가시킬 수 있었다. 셋째, 레이어드, 착탈식의 형태변화에 대한 다목적성이 부합되어 여러 의상의 아이템을 조화롭게 코디네이트함으로써 복식이 주는 변화에 대한 유희성을 나타낼 수 있었다. 넷째, 리본의 다양한 크기, 부착위치, 기능, 형태 등의 변화로 귀엽고 여성스러운 이미지의 웨딩드레스의 심미성을 극대화시킬 수 있었다. 다섯째, 리본의 소재로는 하늘거리는 망사나 의상과 동일소재인 실크 등을 사용하여 광택과 무광택, 투명과 불투명의 질감대치, 작은 size의 unit(단위)사용과 큰 size의 악센트 기능 등 리본장식이 줄 수 있는 역할을 다각도로 시도했다. 본 연구에서는 웨딩드레스의 실루엣과 소재를 기존의 단순한 방식에서 벗어나 조형성과 경제성의 다양한 측면으로 접근하여, 각 유형별로 적절한 표현방식을 적용하여 새로운 웨딩드레스 디자인을 연구 제시하였다. 앞으로 후속 연구로서 디자인의 다목적성과 장식적 요소가 적절하게 조화된 웨딩드레스에 관련된 연구가 체계성있게 확대 전개되길 기대한다. ;Concerning fashion, human beings represent the social status, the aesthetic value and the ego ideal of the current age through certain modes of expression. Exceptionally, the design of wedding dress whose aesthetic norms have been so strict has been relatively uniform and universalized, compared to other sections of fashion with high changeability. It is true that wedding dress has less diverse designs, as it is highly conservative dislike general clothes to the extent that it functions as a dress suit containing the special significance of wedding use. In nowaday wedding dress section, however, individual characters of designers have been reflected free according to the trend of age kicking off a certain formality. The purpose of this study was not only to visualize designs of wedding dress unbound just to single use to follow the fashion tendency of diversification, but also to create high value-added, characteristic wedding dress by developing handmade ribbon ornaments. For content and methodology of this study, as theoretical research, literature review was conducted to examine the concept and history of wedding dress. Reviewing previous cases provided the information on how to put multipurpose clothing to practical use in the past, and several cases of multipurpose wedding dress were collected and analyzed through recent collections. In addition, the concept of ribbon was clarified in the light of ornamental factor and its features, materials and types were investigated extensively. At last, the designs applying ribbons were classified depending on types to express the womanly, elegant and cute image of ribbon. Based on the above context, total eight pieces of wedding dress were produced with diversifying multipurpose applications of and ornamental ribbons for wedding dress. Findings of this study were as follows: First, multipurpose wedding dress was practically available of functioning as ordinary clothes, which extended disposal time of it and increased its cost-effectiveness. Also, the diverse visual effect from its multipurpose attribute suggested the potential to meet continuous desires for variation and characteristic expression among modern consumers. Second, the inborn romantic and splendid image of wedding dress became stronger through applying ribbons to wedding dress with emphasized functionality; consequently, which contributed to highlighting the beauty of wedding dress. Third, in accordance with its multipurpose attribute, layered or removable forms were designed and several items of clothes were coordinated harmoniously, which enabled to represent playfulness from varying clothes. Fourth, varying sizes, attached positions, functions and forms of ribbons enabled to maximize the aesthetics of wedding dress with cute and womanly image. Finally, soft gauze or silk, the same material as the dress, was used as materials for ribbon to try to represent various roles of ribbon through textural contrast from lustrous vs. lusterless or transparent vs. opaque materials, and accentual contrast from small size vs. large size in unit. This study suggested new designs of wedding dress by approaching its formativeness and cost-effectiveness in the several aspects out of the conventional mode covering relatively simple silhouettes and materials, and by applying suitable expressions for each type. In future, it is expected for further studies on wedding dress combining properly multipurpose designs and ornamental factors to be followed systematically and extensively.
