도시의 수변공간 디자인연구

Abstract

우리나라의 도시 수변공간은 1970년대 이후 급격한 도시화, 산업화와 함께 선점식 난개발, 개발의 상충, 경합 등 각종 도시문제가 가장 많이 발생되는 도시공간 중 하나로 노출되어왔다. 선진국에서는 이와 같은 도시문제를 일찍이 경험하여 1960년대 중반이후 도시 수변공간개선에 박차를 가해왔으나 우리나라는 1990년대 중반부터 비로서 도시 수변공간에 대한 적극적 관심을 갖기 시작했다. 그러나 아직 도시 수변공간 이용 및 개선에 대한 뚜렷한 대책이 미흡한 상황이다. 본 연구는 서울의 대표적 경관자원인 한강 수변공간조성의 변화의 필요성을 보여주기 위한 환경디자인 연구이다. 서울의 도시환경 체계에 적합하고 다양한 도시민의 행태를 지원할 수 있는 방향을 모형사례를 통해 제시하려 한다. 본 연구는 한강 수변공간에 대한 생태적 가치를 회복하고 도시민이 복잡한 도심에서 벗어나 자연친화적이고 다양한 친수공간을 경험할 수 있는 행태를 지원해 도시민들이 쾌적한 삶을 영위할 수 있는 환경을 계획하고, 도시환경의 미적 질에 대한 사고의 전환을 밝혀 도시환경에 적합한 수변공간을 제안하는데 연구의 의의를 두고 있다. 1장에서는 현재의 우리나라가 갖고있는 수변환경의 현황과 그 문제에 대한 전반적인 견해를 제시하고 환경디자인 입장에서 본 문제점을 제시한다. 또 연구의 공간적 대상범위를 정하고 전반적인 연구과정의 체계를 정한다. 2장에서는 문헌자료를 통해 수변공간(Waterfront)에 관한 전반적인 이론을 고찰하여 수변환경의 특징을 정확하게 인식한다. 3장에서는 관련문헌과 선행연구를 통하여 수변공간개발에 대한 선진 외국과 현재 우리나라의 사례분석을 통해 유형화를 한다. 4장에서는 연구의 대상공간을 정하고 선정의 타당성과 디자인 전제를 밝힌다. 그리고 도시 수변개발의 환경디자인 모형사례를 제시하기 위한 대상지 현황의 분석과 계획, 디자인 도출과정을 거쳐 최종안을 제시한다. 5장에서는 새로운 도시 수변공간의 환경디자인 모형사례의 평가를 내리고 연구의 전과정을 통해 내린 결과와 의의를 정리한다. 이와 같은 과정을 거쳐 내린 연구는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 도시 수변공간은 인간의 전유물이 아니며, 생태적 가치와 의미가 무엇보다도 중요하다. 도시 수변의 공간 조성은 치수위주나 조경 일색의 공간이 아니며, 도시의 기능을 만족시키고 생태적 회복을 꾀하는 가치 있는 공간의 형성을 의미한다. 도시 수변공간에서 가장 우선 시하는 것은 오픈스페이스의 확충과 연계, 미관광장의 확충, 보차분리방식 도입에 의한 보행자 안정성의 확보, 각종 위락·문화시설의 수변공간 내 집중배치, 제방도로의 금지, 환경보전과 수변공간 이용의 조화, 경관과 친수공간확보 등을 들 수 있으며 이를 도입시키기 위해서는 서울의 도시기능과 한강의 자연보전과 복원, 개발이 균형을 이루도록 개발되어야 함을 알았다. 본 연구자는 결과물로 제시한 도시 수변의 공간조성 모형사례가 서울시 한강 수변이 보다 건강한 환경으로 조성될 수 있도록 새로운 방향을 제시하는데 도움이 되는데 의의를 두고 있다.;Urban waterfront space of Korea have most seriously exposed as the most problematic urban space due to preoccupied insufferable development, contradictory development, and competition. These urban issues were raised earlier on and solved from mid-1960s in developed countries, yet, Korea started to have interest in the urban waterfront space from mid-1990s. However, we do not have a clear countermeasure for its utilization and improvement. This research is a case of model to show the need for change in Han River waterside space promotion. I want to suggest a direction which is appropriate for the urban system of Seoul, and also can support various needs of residence thereof. This research demonstrates a model of suitable criterion for the development of waterfront space in Han River, which would enable urban population of Korea to get out from complicated urban areas and enjoy environment-friendly waterfront areas to enhance the quality of life. Chapter 1 shows current status of waterfront designs to see what the problem is in the viewpoint of environmental design. Also, the boundary of research and its structure is demonstrated. Chapter 2 looks into general theory on waterfront space from various sources in order to properly recognize the characteristic of waterfront area. Chapter 3 exemplifies waterfront development in Korea and other developed countries using various relevant sources and researches. Chapter 4 clarifies the horizon of the research, appropriateness of this choice, and presumption of the design. Also, analysis of the space, space programming, and design results are demonstrated. Chapter 5 provides the valuation on the new example of waterside environmental design, and synthesizes the result and objective of this research. Thus, the result of this research can be summarized as the following. The waterfront space is not fully owned by human beings, and its ecological value and meanings are the most important part. The arrangement of the waterfront should satisfy the capacity of urban areas, and rehabilitation of the space. The most important things in waterfront area can be pointed out as the following: expansion of open space areas and tourist areas, security of passer-bys, various placement of culture and tourism in waterfront space, prohibition of roads in waterside, protection of the environment, and safe utilization of the area. The objective of this research is to suggest a healthier environment of waterfront area of Han River in Seoul by showing the example of waterfront space arrangements as a result of the research.
