멀티미디어를 위한 디지털 포맷의 활용

Abstract

디지털 기술의 발달은 정보화 사회에서 가장 기본이 되는 컴퓨터, 방송, 가전부문, 통신 등 여러 분야에 동화상, 고화질, 그리고 고음질의 멀티미디어 시대를 열었다. 최근 이와 관련된 연구개발이 진행되고 있어 멀티미디어 관련기술은 그 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 특히 컴퓨터의 다 기능화와 초고속통신망이 가능하여 지면서 방송환경에 있어서도 본격적인 변화를 가져왔다. 고품질의 다채널 방송이 가능하게 되고 디지털 전송방식에 대한 연구로 새로운 압축표준의 개발이 촉구되면서 디지털 방송이 등장하였다. 본 논문에서는 현재 정부의 디지털 방송화의 발표로 관심이 고조된 디지털 방송의 기본 원리인 디지털 포맷의 이론적 고찰과 정보통신망의 디지털화를 중심으로 인터넷 방송과의 연계성을 알아보았다. 실용화 단계로 접어들고 있는 우리나라 디지털 방송의 현황을 조사하기 위하여 디지털 방송 추진현황과 진행 과정상의 문제점을 살펴보았다. 또한 디지털 방송의 선두인 미국, 유럽, 그리고 일본의 최근 동향을 통하여 해외의 디지털 방송 동향과 우리나라의 경우를 비교 분석하였고 방송환경의 변화를 디지털 방송의 장점과 발전 전망을 통하여 알아보았다.;The development of digital technology has opened the erea of multimedia with high animating image and high sound quality in various fields such as computer, broadcasting, electronic appliances and communication, which are the basic elements of information society. Especially, multy function of computer has brought change in broadcasting environment. Multichannel broadcasting becomes possible, and digital broadcasting appears with the promotion of new pressed standards. This paper puts its main focus on the theoretical examination of digital format, which is the basic element of digital broadcasting, and interest in it becomes elevated by the current government's announcement of digital broadcasting. Especially, in a practical aspect, digital broadcasting is divided into satellite and over ground broadcasting, and this study focuses on over ground broadcasting. To investigate the environment of Korean digital broadcasting, this study looks at the present situation of developing digital broadcasting and problems in its progress. Also, this study compares cases of Korea with digital broadcasting through the current siltation of leading countries of digital broadcasting such as America, Europe and Japan and examines change of the environment of broadcasting through prospects of development.
