노인성별에 따른 죽음준비교육 요구차이에 관한 연구

Abstract

인간이라면 누구나 죽음을 맞이하게 된다. 특히 노인에게 흔히 나타나는 현상이기에 젊은이보다는 노인이 가까이 다가온 죽음을 준비하는 것이 중요하며, 같은 노년층이라도 남성노인과 여성노인은 생의 과정이 다르고 교육수준 및 사회경험이 성별에 따라 다르기 때문에 성별에 따라 죽음준비교육을 실시하는 것이 중요하다 하겠다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 죽음에 대한 태도, 죽음의 준비, 죽음준비교육 프로그램 요구에 관한 설문조사를 기초로 노인성별에 따른 죽음준비교육 프로그램을 제시하였다. 연구 결과는 남성노인보다 여성노인이 죽음에 대한 두려움이 컸으며, 남성노인이 여성노인보다 오래살기를 희망하였다. 또한 죽음의 의미를 남성노인과 여성노인 모두 죽음이 자연스러운 현상이라고 생각하면서도 남성노인은 생의 단절로 여성노인은 내세의 시작으로 생각하는 경향이 있었다. 죽음준비정도에서는 여성노인이 남성노인보다 많은 것(영정사진, 장지, 수의 등)을 준비하고 있었으며, 유언방식에서 여성은 직접말로 하는 것을, 남성노인은 유언장을 선호하였으며, 장례유형에서도 여성노인은 화장을 남성노인은 무덤을 선호하여 서로 희망하는 장례가 달랐다. 죽음준비교육 프로그램에 대한 요구를 분석해 보면 여성노인이 남성노인보다 죽음준비교육에 대한 참여의사가 높았으며 교육강사로는 여성노인은 성직자를 남성노인은 죽음준비교육 전문가를 선택하였다. 교육내용으로는 여성노인은 심리적 접근방법, 영적 접근방법, 사회적 접근방법, 신체적 접근방법을 선택하였고, 남성노인은 심리적 접근방법, 사회적 접근방법, 법적 접근방법을 선택하였다. 이처럼 남성노인과 여성노인은 죽음에 대한 개념 및 태도가 다르고 죽음준비교육에 있어서도 서로 다른 요구가 나타났다. 위의 결과로 성별에 따른 죽음준비교육 프로그램을 제시하면 남성노인은 죽음준비교육 전문가 및 의사, 법조인, 장의사를 강사로 하여 죽음의 의미탐색, 존엄한 죽음과 장례문화 살펴보기, 유언장 작성 및 인생정리, 장례식 계획세우기로 구성을 하고, 여성노인의 경우 죽음준비교육 전문가와 성직자, 의사를 강사로 하여 죽음의 의미 탐색, 죽음의 본질과 가치 그리고 종교에서의 죽음, 평화로운 죽음과 인생정리, 미래 삶에 대한 준비로 프로그램을 구성하였다. 이상의 내용을 정리해 보면 죽음 준비교육은 분명 우리 사회에서 요구되어 지는 추세이나 아직 이를 위한 제도적 장치가 마련되지 못한 상태로 이를 위해서는 지역사회 또는 교육 기관이 적극적으로 죽음준비교육을 개발하여야 할 것이다. 죽음준비교육은 현재의 삶과 미래의 삶이 활기차고 풍요롭게 되기 위한 교육으로 인식되고 이를 통해 삶을 질을 높이며 인간이 추구하는 행복을 성취할 수 있도록 안내하는 역할을 하여야 할 것으로 본다.;Everyone has to meet one´s death. Especially, Death is commonly appeared the aged, therefore, it is important that the old prepare for one's death than the young do. Also, because male and female has different life style, education level and social experience, it is important that Death Preparation Education is carried out according to sex distinction. Therefore, this thesis presents Death Preparation Education, which is followed by Sex distinction, on the basis of questionnaires related to attitude about death, preparation for death and demand for program of Death Preparation Education. Study result shows that old men have more fear than old women. And, old men hope to live long than old women do. Also, old men and women think that the death is natural phenomena. but, old men regard death as end of this world .on the other hand, old women regard death as start of the next. In degree of death preparation, old women are likely to more get ready for death than old men do(a scroll of portrait, a burial place, shroud etc.). In method of a will, old women prefer to speak directly while old men prefer to make a written will. And, in type of funeral ceremony, which is different between women and men, old women prefer to cremation while old men prefer to get buried ground. Also, In the analysis of demand for death preparation education program, old women's participation intention are higher than old men's participation intention in education. As for a teacher, old women prefer a minister while old men prefer an expert of death preparation education. As for education contents, old women chose in order of psychological approach, spiritual approach, Socilal approach, physical approach while old men chose in order of psychological approach, Social approach, legal approach. like this, It shows that there are many difference between women and men for a concept and an attitude about death. and they have different require for death preparation education. As an above result, it is presented Death Preparation Education, which is followed by Sex distinction. old men's program, which is taughted by expert of death preparation education, doctor and undertaker, consists of meaning search of death, majestic death, making a will, life rearrange and planing funeral. and old women's program, which is taughted by expert of death preparation education, minister, and doctor, consists of meaning search of death, nature and value of death, death in religion, peaceful death, life rearrange and preparation for future life. In summary of the contents above, death-preparing education is very in need in our society, but there is no systematic device, so each community or education authorities should develop death-preparing education more positively. Death-preparing shold also be recognized as a plan for making today's and tomorrow's life dynamic and affluent and play a role to guide human beings to achieve their happiness and elevate there life quality.
