Abstract
직물은 오랜 동안 미적 표현 추구의 대상이였으며 그 나라의 전통, 종교, 풍습, 문화를 나타내었다. 동남아시아는 크게 인도네시아, 버어마, 태국, 말레이지아, 필리핀 등으로 나눌 수 있고, 지형, 인종, 언어, 종교의 다양함에도 불구하고 직물의 유사성과 복합성을 가지고 있다. 동남아시아의 전통적인 직물은 지리적, 정치·경제, 환경조건으로 인해 인도, 중국, 이슬람, 유럽의 영향을 받아 변모 하였다. 인도의 영향은 철학, 종교, 무역으로 인해 직물 모티브의 변화, 경사위주의 이카트에서 위사이카트로 전환, 브로케이드 직조된 실크와 금사 직물을 제직하는 것이였다. 그리고 중국의 영향은 자수기법, 꽃무늬, 용문양, 실크사용 타피스트리 직으로 동남아시아 직물을 변형 시켰다. 이슬람은 머리 장식과 몸에 맞는 의복의 재단, 봉제하는 것이고 유럽의 침략으로 동남아시아의 직물 디자인은 자연 세계를 사실적으로 묘사하는 영향을 주었다. 동남아시아 직물의 전통 직조 기법은 평직(plain weave), 타피스트리직(tapestry weave), 브로케이드(brocade), 능직(twill weave), 트와이닝(twining) 등이며, 직물 재료로는 면섬유, 인피섬유(대마, 라미, 아바카), 실크를 사용 하였다. 동남아시아의 전통직물은 강한 토속신앙, 주술적인 요소, 조상, 영혼을 다분히 보여주며 그들의 생활에 중요한 역할을 하였다. 동남아시아의 직물 문양은 신인동형 형상, 신비로운 창조물, 새, 동물, 기하학적 문양(나선무늬, 커브형, 지그재그, 마름모, 평행선) 이 대칭적으로 연속 구성되어 졌다. 또한 동남아시아의 직물은 원시적인 바디텐숀직기(body tension loom) 에서 프레임(frame) 의 발전을 보아 제직 되었다. 동남아시아의 직물 예술은 뛰어난 직조작업의 생산품이며, 외부의 영향과 내부의 전통성, 다양성 위에 복합적으로 구성 되었다. 아시아에서 우월하고 훌륭한 직물문화 전통을 가지고 있는 동남아시아의 직물연구를 통해 섬유예술가에게 새로운 자극과 영감을 주어 우수한 직물을 이해하고 제직하는 길을 마련하고자한다.;Throughout Asia textiles art one of the most powerful and exciting art forms. South-east asian textiles art outstanding works of art, formed by a rich variety of techniques. Many designs and motifs convey important messages significant only to those familiar with the particular social and religious principles of the people who have produced them. The traditional weaving techniques of South-east asia and transformation of textiles art very important. The transfer of motifs techniques, materials and textile usage between the outside world and south east asia has not followed a clear cut path. Also, the foundations of Southeast asian textile art and the various external influences that stimulated its development preclude tidy classification. The Arts of South-east asia were also deeply affected by other external influences. South-east asians were active participants in trade and exchange of ideas and materials. South asian textile-makers selected from a range of available motifs, designs and techniques. Throughout South-east asia, traditional textiles are a visual expression of the fabric of life. Also, the traditional weaving techniques combine with new textile design, technique and motifs. Taking advantage of this, the researcher tried to provide the developmental textile Art for fine, beautiful objects.
