'說文解字'의 部首 選定原則 硏究

Abstract

中國의 字典은 部首 아래 관련된 문자를 배열하는 방식으로 엮어져 있다. 이런 방법은 ≪說文解字≫에서 처음 시도되었는데, 한자의 특성에 적합한 방법이기 때문에 후대의 자전들도 이 방법을 따르고 있다. 그러나 ≪說文解字≫의 부수는 오늘날 우리가 사용하는 자전의 부수와는 성격상 많은 차이가 있다. 이러한 차이는 부수의 개념과 부수를 선정한 원칙의 차이에서 기인한다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본고는 ≪說文解字≫에서 부수는 어떤 개념이며 또 어떠한 원칙하에 부수가 세워졌는지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. ≪說文解字≫는 자전이지만 작자인 허신이 ≪說文解字≫를 편찬할 때에는 문자를 해설하는 것을 목적으로 하였을 뿐아니라, 자신의 사상을 전달하려는 의도도 포함되어 있어서 부수를 선정할 때에도 이러한 편찬의도가 영향을 미쳤음을 발견할 수 있다. 그러므로 ≪說文解字≫의 전반적인 배경을 살펴보는 것은 ≪說文解字≫의 부수 선정원칙을 파악하는 데에 필요한 작업이다. 그래서 제2장에서는 작자 許愼의 생애와 ≪說文解字≫를 저작할 당시의 시대적 배경, 許愼의 문자관과 사상, ≪說文解字≫를 편찬한 의도, 부수배열법을 창안하게 된 배경 등을 살펴보았다. 제3장에서는 ≪說文解字≫에 있는 부수를 종속자가 있는 부수와 종속자가 없는 부수, 독체자부수와 합체자부수로 나누었고 각각의 경우 부수와 종속자간의 관계를 살펴봄으로써 ≪說文解字≫의 부수 선정원칙이 무엇이며 ≪說文解字≫에서 부수는 어떤 기능을 담당하고 있는 지 파악할 수 있었다. 제4장에서는 제3장의 유형분석을 통해 얻어진 결과를 바탕으로 ≪說文解字≫에는 문자학적 원리에 입각하여 글자의 자형과 자의를 고려하여 세운 부수와 문자학외적인 원리, 즉 작자의 사상을 전달하려는 목적으로 세운 부수가 있다는 결론을 얻게 되었다.;The implementation of Chinese dictionary greatly owes to a unique system known as Bu-Shou(部首) arragement. The significance of this method depicts that it has been used to compile groups of words under a correlated Bu-Shou(部首). Ever since this very creative method was first implemented by Xu-Shen(許愼), when he wrote Shuo-Weh- Jie-Zi(《說文解字》) in Dong-Han(東漢) Dynasty, most of the Chinese dictionary editted later have followed this particular method due to the suitable characteristics of Chinese language in the form. However, the Bu-Shou(部首) system of Shuo- Wen-Jie-Zi(《說文解字》) is quite different from those of later Chinese dictionary. The differences, I think, dues to the different principle of the establishment of Bu-Shou(部首) between Shuo-Wen-Jie-Zi(《說文解字》) and later dictionaries. Thus, the purpose of this thesis dedicates to the following two categories. One is to figure out the concept of Bu-Shou(部首) and another is to figure out the establishment of the fundamental mechanics in Bu-Shou(部首) system. Though Shuo-Wen- Jie-Zi(《說文解字》) is a dictionary, the author, Xu-Shen(許愼) tried not only to depict the definition for words, but also made an effort to imply his own ideology which affected the system of Bu-Shou(部首) in Shuo-Wen-Jie-Zi(《說文解字》). So in order to understand how he established the Bu-Shou(部首) system in Shuo- Wen- Jie-Zi(《說文解字》), one needs to know the background of Shuo-Wen- Jie-Zi(《說文解字》). Therefore, in chapter 2, I elaborated a brief summary of Xu-Shen(許愼)'s life, the author of Shuo-Wen-Jie-Zi(《說文解字》): the historical background, his ideology, his thoughts on character, the purpose of writing Shuo-Wen-Jie-Zi(《說文解字》) and, the arrangement of Bu-Shou(部首) system. In Chapter 3, I divided Bu-Shou(部首) system into four parts. The first two parts are Bu-Shou(部首) with Cong-Shu-Zi(從屬字) and Bu-Shou(部首) without Cong-Shu-Zi(從屬子). The third and forth parts are evenly divided into Du-Ti-Zi(獨體字) Bu-Shou(部首) and He-Ti-Zi(合體字) Bu-Shou(部首). Within each case, I have examined the relationship between Bu-Shou(部首) and Cong-Shu-Zi(從屬字) to find out the fundamental system of Bu-Shou(部首) and how the Bu - Shou(部首) functions in Shuo-Wen-Jie-Zi(《說文解字》). Based on the result from the chapter 3, I have found that there are two types of Bu-Shou(部首) in Shuo-Wen-Jie-Zi(《說文解字》). One is established to explain the original meaning of each characters. Another is established to spread his ideology to the Chinese people.
