영화자료를 위한 Kormarc 형식의 확장 설계에 관한 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to expand and develop KORMARC Format for motion pictures by extracting and analyzing the data elements of motion pictures. Existing motion pictures cataloging rules and MARC system lack in accomodating the various data elements of motion picutures and ignore characteristics of them. KORMARC Format for motion pictures, therefore, prepared in this thesis expands, devises and designs the existing KORMARC(monography). For this study, three research methods are used in parallel: literature survey, interview and case study. Through the literature survey, the features of motion picture, problems in cataloging and organizing this materials, and the data elements of motion pictures in FIAF are found. In order to grasp practical aspects, interviewing two groups is preceded: one group that is structuring the database of motion pictures, and the other that is occupied in motion pictures. After this, user needs in motion pictures and practical problem in organizing materials are elucidated. In case study, foreign film archives are selected as follows: Centre National de la Cinematographie in France, Staatliches Filmarchiv Der Deutschen Demokratischen Republic in German, Suomen Elokuva - Arkisto in Finland, National Film Archives in British, Ceskoslovensky Filmovy Ustav, Filmovy Archiv in Cesko, Bulgarska Nacionalna Filmoteka Velchevska in Bulgaria, Cinemateket, Svenska Film Institute in Sweden, American Film Institute in American, Museum of Modem Art in American, National Film, Television & Sound Archives in Canada, Filmoteca de la Unam in Mexico. Then data elements that are used in cataloging at foreign film archives are compared and extracted. After this, all data elements are embodied and expanded in KORMARC Format for motion pictures. In constructing this format, USMARC, OCLC MARC are essential reference and KORMARC Format for Non-Books(proposal) and MARC Format for Art Materials(proposal) are referred. And for the compatibility, developed Format takes into account KORMARC Format for bibliographic data. The applications of this format are intended to describe motion pictures appropriatly. By using this format, may be acquired as follows: 1. This format leads to contriving integrated KORMARC system that can take into account each material's characteristics in situation that does not institute KORMARC for non-books 2. It is helpful to establish the database of motion pictures 3. KORMARC Format for motion pictures can describe motion pictures in detail than the past, then make the detailed national filmograpies.;본 연구는 영화자료의 목록을 수용하기 위한 KORMARC형식의 확장 설계에 관한 것이다. 영화자료는 필름을 중심으로 다양한 매체를 통해 생산되고 있으며, 영화산업의 발달과 매체의 특성으로 그 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 그러나 영화자료를 KORMARC형식으로 처리하는 것은 곤란하다. 그것은 KORMARC이 도서를 위주로 개발되어 사용되고 있으며, 국립중앙도서관에서 연구 발표한 비도서자료용 MARC형식도 복잡한 데이터요소를 가진 영화자료를 처리하기에는 부족한 부분이 많기 때문이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 영화자료가 가진 목록데이터요소를 적절히 선정하고 그 요소들을 수렴할 수 있도록 KORMARC형식의 확장을 시도하고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 이루기 위해서 면담, 문헌조사, 사례조사 방법을 이용하였다. 문헌조사로 영화자료의 특성, 목록상의 문제점, 국제필름보관소연맹(FIAF)에서 권고한 영화자료 목록시의 데이터요소를 고찰하였다. 면담을 통해서 영화자료의 데이터베이스 구축에 관련된 목록상의 문제점과 요구사항을 조사하였고, 영화정보를 필요로 하는 영화관계 종사자들의 정보요구도 파악하였다. 또한 외국의 대표적인 필름보관소에서 영화자료를 목록할 때 사용하는 데이터요소를 사례연구로 조사하였다. 국제필름보관소연맹과 외국 필름 보관소의 목록요소를 비교 분석하여 우리나라에 적절한 영화자료의 데이터요소를 선정하였고, 선정된 데이터요소는 영화자료의 확장적 기술과 공유를 위해 MARC으로 설계하였다. 설계시 단행본용 KORMARC과의 호환성을 고려하였고, 영화자료 데이터요소를 KORMARC으로 모두 수용하도록 하였다. 영화자료를 위하여 KORMARC 단행본용을 확장한 KORMARC(안)의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 리더 부분인 06에 g 영사자료를 추가했으며, 디렉토리 부분은 기존의 KORMARC 단행본용과 같다. 둘째, 가변장 제어필드에서 007 형태기술필드는 영화자료에 맞게 설계하였다. 특히 007/11 제작상태를 기존의 MARC에서 볼 수 없는 상세한 수준으로 코드화하였다. 008 부호화정보필드에서는 /22 이용대상자 수준, /23∼27 딸림자료에 관한 사항, /28 자료의 유형, /29 기술수준을 단행본용 KORMARC보다 상세하게 설계하였다. 셋째, 가변장 데이터필드의 변경, 추가, 신설이다. 변경사항은 245 서명/저자사항, 260 제작·배급사항, 300 형태사항으로 기존의 단행본용 KORMARC에 제정된 사항을 영화에 맞게 변경하여 설계하였다. 추가사항은 017 저작권 등록번호, 041 언어부호, 045 작품내용상 연대, 507 원작에 관한 주기, 520 요약주기, 521 이용대상자 주기, 586 수상주기 등으로 KORMARC에 이미 지정된 표시기호이지만 영화자료에 맞게 기술할 수 있도록 데이터요소를 추가하여 설계하였다. 신설사항은 033 이벤츠 날짜와 장소, 044 제작국코드, 257 제작국, 265 수서소스, 301 변경 가능한 형태적 데이터, 340 형태적 매체, 351 자료의 조직과 배열, 508 제작진 주기, 530 연주자와 배역진 주기, 512 사용된 음악주기, 514 스토크쇼트 주기, 517 다양한 타이틀에 관한 주기, 518 촬영/녹음 장소나 일시 주기, 527 검열주기, 532 필름의 길이에 관한 주기, 581 참조 정보원 주기, 587 노미네이트 주기, 590 개봉주기, 591 화상정보의 소재, 592 딸림자료의 소장주기, 655 장르 등이다. 이러한 사항은 KORMARC에 없는 사항이지만 영화자료의 목록을 위해 필요한 사항이므로 새롭게 표시기호를 선정하여 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 영화자료를 위한 확장 KORMARC은 영화자료의 보다 나은 정보화를 위한 것으로 다음과 같은 가능성을 제시하였다. 첫째, 통합 MARC포맷을 구축하는 일환(一環)으로 영화자료를 확장 설계하여 봄으로써 통합 KORMARC형식의 방향을 제시하였고, 자료의 특성을 고려한 MARC을 구축할 수 있게 하였다. 둘째, 영화자료 데이터베이스를 구축하기가 용이하다. 즉 기존 MARC형식에 부합되게 영화부분을 확장하여, 특성있는 MARC시스템을 설계하였으므로 영화자료 데이터베이스 구축이 용이하다. 셋째, 설계된 영화자료를 위한 KORMARC은 상세한 영화목록(Filmographies)을 만들 수 있다. 본 설계안은 이러한 정보의 미비성을 보완한 국가적 수준의 영화목록을 작성할 수 있도록 상세한 목록기술을 가능하도록 설계하였다.
