의미의 함유체로서의 오브제(Objet)에 관한 연구

Abstract

'예술은 자연의 보고(寶庫)이다'라고 한 보들레르(C. Baudelaire; 1821∼1867)의 말이 불과 반세기도 못되어 '예술에는 다루지 못할 테마가 없다'라는 말로 바뀌어질 만큼 20세기의 미술은 다양한 실험을 거쳐 새로운 표현 방법을 모색하게 되었다. 또한 표현 방법의 변화에 따른 인식의 확산에 의해 예술의 가치가 극대화되고 시각의 자유가 무한히 확대되고 있다. 입체파의 빠삐에 꼴레(Papiers colle's) 이후 대상과 화면에서의 이미지 사이에 인습적 관계에서 탈피하고자 직접 작품에 도입된 오브제(Objet)는 독자적인 표현방법으로 현대 미술 속에서 새로운 미학상의 가치를 부여받게 되었다. 예술 작품에 있어서 오브제는 작가의 창의적인 선택과 변용에 의해 관습이나 체제에 가려진 눈과 사고를 뜨게하며, 일상 생활의 사물들도 예술로 환원되어 새로운 가치로 재인식되는 상징적 의미를 지니게 되었다. 이러한 새로운 상장의 전개속에서 작품의 가장 기본적인 요소로 오브제를 택하고 있는 본인은 새로운 표현에 있어서 개방적인 태도를 가지며 다각적인 예술의 흐름을 수용함과 동시에 작품에 내재되어 있는 개인적 의도와 작가의 가치관을 부각시켜 나타내고자 한다. 또한 본인 작품 제작에 있어서 오브제는 형식이자 동시에 내용을 담고 있으며, 오브제를 선택하는 과정에서 시각적으로 들어나는 효과에도 관심을 기울이지만, 이보다 본인의 의도를 함축할 수 있는 오브제를 선택하는데 중점을 두고 있음을 밝히고자 한다. 이에 주변의 여러가지 폐물을 모아 우연히 결합하여 추상적으로 화면을 구성한 쿠르트 슈비터즈(Krut Schwitters; 1887∼1948)와 경험에 의해 선택된 오브제로 자신의 예술 이념을 표현한 요셉 보이스(Joseph Beuys; 1923∼1986), 물질 회화를 통해 우주와 사물의 합일을 작품에 내면화 한 안토니오 따비에스(Antonio Ta`pies; 1923∼) 등을 참고 작가로 선정하여 본인의 작품 분석에 도움을 주고자 한다. 본 논문은 본인의 작품 제작과 관련지어 내용적 측면과 방법적 측면을 연구하고 본인 작품 분석으로 구성되어 있다. 내용적 연구에는 선택에 의해 재인식된 오브제의 의미를 찾아보며, 오브제에 함축된 의미가 생명력임을 서술하고자 하였으며, 방법적 연구에서는 선택된 오브제들의 속성을 분석해 보고, 오브제 작품의 전시 방법으로 인스탈레이션(Installation)에 대해 연구해 보고자 한다. 끝으로 본인의 작품을 제시, 분석함으로써 작품에 대한 반성과 함께 앞으로의 방향 모색을 시도하였다.;The 20th century art has come to a point to explore new methods of expression through various experiments as the words of C. Baudelaire that “Art is the treasure house of nature”, only after half a century, are changed to “There is no theme that art cannot deal”. Also the value of art became greater and the freedom of sight infinitely expanded through the recognition of the new methods of expression in art. The Object which received the new value asthetic started to appear on the painting surface after Papiers Colle^(´)s of the Cubists, and developed into such an important art trend that contemporary art cannot be discussed without it. The appearance of the object in contemporary art has endowed an artistic value to the world of objects and has come out of the foundary of the classical genre of painting and sculpture, and pursued new artistic meaning in everyday life and environment in art. In this aspect as the person who has chosen the object as the basic element in art will keep an open attitude towards new expressions while accepting the diversified flow of art and will attach great importance to personal intention and artistic view on the value in my works. The basic background of all the methods of creation is a reflection of the individuals' view of art and intention, and the experience of emotion in the works. Art is an action that concentrates on the human emotional values. The object in my art form contains the contents. Although I will keep interested in the visual effects, I will concentrate on choosing the object that can suggest my intention. I have selected some artists to refer to help analyze may works : Krut Schwitters(1887∼1948) who collected wastes and, by chance, integrated it his works to compose an abstract canvas, Jeseph Beuys(1921∼1992) who expressed his artistic theory through the object chosen by his personal experience and Antonio Tapies(1923∼ ) who internalized the unity of universe and object through his material painting. This thesis is composed of the study on contents, methodological aspects anel the analysis of my works. In the study of contents, I will search for the meaning of the recognized object chosen and will try to imply the meaning of the object as a life force itself. In the methodological aspects I will analyze the characteristic of the chosen object and will study installation as the display method of the object in a work. Lastly by portraying and analyzing my works I tried to reexamine and explore the direction of my future works.
