어깨 패드(Pad)를 이용한 구조적 의상 디자인

Abstract

15-18세기에는 실루엣을 형성해 주는 후우프(hoop: 파이팅게일, 파니에, 크리놀린 )가 있음으로 해서 의복의 구조적 (構造的) 형태가 존재하였다. 또한 패드(pad)나 심지등을 의복의 여러부분에 사용해 줌으로써 인체의 형태를 그대로 나타내 주기 보다 과장된 형태 나타내 주기도 하였다. 그러나 20세기에 들어와서 실루엣의 과잉장식에서 벗어나 인체의 자연미를 살리게 되었고 따라서 후우프(hoop)나 패드 (pad), 콜셋(corset) 등이 없어지게 되었다. 그러나 패드(pad)는 지금도 어깨에 사용되어 어깨를 각이 진 형태나 과장된 형태로 만들어 주는데 사용되고 있다. 또한 현대에 와서 많은 디자이너들이 실용적이고 기능적인 의복보다는 새로운 감각을 전달하는 조형예술의 표현으로써의 의복으로 그 영역을 확대시켜서 인체의 자연적 형태를 살려주기 보다는 의복에다가 심지, 철사, 패드, 솜, cutting에 의한 바느질선 등을 이용하여 건축물이나 조각물과 같은 구조적 (構造的) 형태의 의상을 표현해 주고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 현대 의상에 나타난 구조적 의상의 실례를 살펴보며 그 구조와 특성을 살펴 보았고 이런 구조적 의상이 갖는 의미를 살펴 보았다. 또 이런 구조적 의상 표현을 위해 어깨 패드(pad)에 대한 역사적 고찰을 해 보았고 어깨 패드(pad)의 형태 변화를 시도해 보았다. 어깨 패드(pad)의 형태는 주로 기하학적이고 구조적인 형태로 디자인해 주었다. 작품은 총 8점 중 실물 5점, 일러스트 3점으로 표현해 주었고 구성 형태는 원피스로 한정하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 옷의 정형만을 목적으로 사용하던 어깨 패드(pad)의 형태를 기하학적이고 구조적인 형태로 표현해 줌으로 인해 어깨 디자인의 새로운 조형적 형태의 가능성을 제시할 수 있었다. 둘째, 현대의상에 나타난 구조적 의상의 특징들을 분석 할 수 있었고 심지, 철사, 바느질선의 활용 등과 함께 어깨 패드(pad)가 구조적 의상표현에 한 좋은 소재와 방법이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 세째, 형식에 메이지 않는 자유로운 바느질 선의 활용이 인체의 형태에 구속받지 않은 기하학적인 어깨 형태를 가능하게 함으로 인해 의복에 3차원적 입체감을 줄 수 있었다. 네째, 패션산업에서 패드(pad) 산업이 중요한 위치를 차지함을 고찰함과 더불어 패드(pad)의 다양성과 개성화의 추구가 가능함을 제시할 수 있었고 패드(pad) 형태의 다양화의 필요성을 제시할 수 있었다.;In the 15th-18th centuries, the structural pattern of clothes was made, by the hoop which forms the silhouette. Furthermore, by using pads or frames in several parts, the shape became rather exaggerated when compared to the original shape of the human body. However, those in the 20th century have come to give up this tendency of excessive decoration for silhouette and have moved towards utilizing the natural beauty of the human body. Therefore, the hoop and corset went out of the world. The pad is still used on the shoulder to express or exaggerate the angled shape. Many fashion designers nowadays extend the territory of fashion design to an expression of the formative arts. Instead of the natural shape of the human body, they express the structural shape of clothes much like an architectural or sculptural work, utilizing pads, wires, cushions, and cutting sewing lines. In this context, this study looks into not simply the structure and characters of the architectonic fashion in modern clothes but also the meaning of structural fashion design. Additionally, after looking over the history of the shoulder pad, I tried some changes in the shape of the shoulder pad to express these structural clothes. I designed the shoulder pad mainly as a geometrical and structural shape. In this study, a variety of possibilities for designing shoulder patterns are suggested through the five, large as life designs and the three pieces of illustrations. The patterns are restricted to an one-piece dress style. The findings of the study are as follows: First, the application of the shoulder pad is discovered to be one of the good method for the structural fashion design. Second, it is possible to analyze the characters in structural clothes of modern fashion design and the pad is realized as a good method of expression in fashion design as like wires, cushions and sewing lines. Third, it is possible to give a three dimensional cubic effect by applying free seam lines and showing the possibility of the geometric shoulder pattern, which is not bound to any human shape. Fourth, the recognition of the importance of the pad industry in the fashion industry suggests the need and possibility for diversification and characterization of the pad.
