국민학교 교사의 교수에 대한 신념과 실제

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 국민학교 교사들의 교수에 대한 신념과 실제 교수 행위의 경향과 각 변인(학교유형별, 성별, 경력별, 변인별)에 따른 신념과 실제의 차이 정도 및 신념과 실제 교수 행위의 차이를 가져오는 원인에 대해 알아보는 것이다. 이와 같은 연구 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 첫째, 국민학교 교사의 교수에 대한 신념은 어떠한가? 둘째, 국민학교 교사의 실제 교수 행위는 어떠한가? 셋째, 국민학교 교사의 교수에 대한 신념과 실제의 차이는 각 변인에 따라 어떻게 다른가? 네째, 국민학교 교사의 교수에 대한 신념과 실제의 차이를 가져오는 원인은 무엇인가? 연구대상은 서울 시내 공·사립 국민학교 교사 489명을 대상으로 Peters등이 제안한 교수에 대한 교사의 신념 및 실제의 경향을 알아볼 수 있는 교사용 자기 평가 질문지를 배부하여 회수(86.5)된 423명의 질문지 가운데 연구에 적합한 409부를 분석하였다. 분석방법은 SAS(Statistical Analysis System) 프로그램을 사용하였으며, 빈도, 백분율, 그리고 X^(2)검증을 통해 분석하였으며, 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 국민학교 교사의 교수에 대한 신념은 성숙주의(58.2)가 가장 많았고, 다음은 상호작용주의(16.4)였으며 행동주의(4.6)가 가장 적었다. 2. 국민학교 교사의 실제 교수 행위 역시 성숙주의(38.2)가 가장 많았고, 상호 작용주의(21.5), 행동주위(14.7)순으로 나타났으며, 신념에 비해 실제 교수 행위에서는 성숙주의가 낮아지면서, 상호작용주의와 행동주의가 증가함을 알 수 있다. 3. 변인별로 교수에 대한 신념과 실제의 차이를 분석한 결과 학교유형별에 따른 공·사립 국민학교 교사 모두 신념과 실제에 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 성별에 따른 남·여 교사 모두 신념과 실제에 유의한 차이를 보였다. 또한 경력과 관계없이 모든 교사들은 그들의 신념과 실제에 유의한 차이를 보였고, 학력이 증가함에 따라 신념과 실제간의 차이가 줄어들고 있으나 반드시 비례한다고 볼 수는 없다. 4. 교사가 인식하는 교수에 대한 신념과 실제의 차이를 가져오는 원인을 경제적 지원 및 교구의 부족(18.4), 학급당 과밀한 아동수(17.8), 교사의 노력과 자질부족(16.6)등으로 나타났다.;The purpose of this study is to analyse teachers' educational beliefs about instruction and their teaching behavior among elementary school teachers. The cause of conflict between beliefs and behavior of teachers is investigated. To achieve these objectives the following questions were proposed: 1. What is the tendency of elementary school teachers' beliefs about instruction? 2. What is the thendency of elementary school teachers' teaching behavior? 3. What- is the difference between teachers' beliefs about instruction and their teaching behavior according to variables. 4. What is the cause of the teachers conflict due to the inconsistency between their beliefs about instruction and teaching behavior? The subject of this study was 409 teachers of both, public and private elementary schools. Data were analysed frequency, percentage, and X^(2). The results of this study were as follows. 1. The analysis revealed that, of the 409 teachers, 58.2% of them held beliefs about instruction classified as maturationist, 16.4% of them held interactionist belief, and only 4.6% of them held behaviorist beliefs. 2. The analysis revealed that 36.2% of them showed teaching behavior classified as maturationist, 21.5% of them showed teaching behavior classified as interactionist, and 14.7% of them showed teaching behavior classified as behaviorist. 3. According to the variances, the difference between teachers' beliefs about instruction and teaching behavior according to the institution and sex is significant. And the difference between teachers' beliefs about instruction and teaching behavior according to the amount of teaching experience and educational level is also significant. 4. The causes of differences between teachers' beliefs about instruction and teaching behavior are viewed by teachers as: poor physical environment and a shortage of teaching materials, high teacher-student ratio, and a lack of effort by teachers themselves to name a few.
