결승(結繩)의 조형표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

과거에는 단순한 삶을 유지하기 위한 생활의 방편으로서 요구되어 졌던 공예가 산업의 발달과 생활양식의 변화로 이제는 더 나은 생활공간과 정서적 차원에서 다양한 변화 발전을 보여 주고 있다. 따라서 오늘날의 염색공예에 있어서도 실용성을 추구하는 목적에서 벗어나 심미적인 목적으로 예술성을 추구하고 작가 나름대로의 내적 의식이나 이미지 표현을 중요시하는 조형예술로 발전해 가는 경향을 띄고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 우리 민족에게 있어서 오랜 세월동안 생활과 밀접한 관계를 맺어 온 짚을 이용한 생활용구를 대상으로 하여 자유롭고 생명력있는 내면세계를 공간적으로 표현함으로써 새로운 감각의 조형세계를 추구하는데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로는 예술과 표현, 공간이 갖는 조형의식과 미적체험을 주관적으로 형상화할 수 있는 이미지에 대해 고찰하고, 작품제작에서는 대상물에서 얻은 율동적이고 생동감있는 이미지 표현을 위해 질서있는 공간을 형성하도록 했다. 이러한 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 작품제작과 분석을 통해 다음과 같은 결론에 도달했다. 첫째, 농경생활의 산물인 짚으로 만든 생활용구는 서민의 애환이 담겨있는 소재로써, 본 연구자의 내적 이미지를 직관적인 미적체험을 통해 시각적으로 표현하는데 적절한 소재였다. 둘째, 선의 유기적인 반복으로 얻어지는 대상의 형상화는 창조적 의지와 개성의 표현양식으로 조형적 의의가 있음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 작품제작중 변화의 시도로써 사용한 다양한 재질감의 면(綿)은 색감을 적응하는데 어려움이 있었지만 대상의 깊이있는 공간표현에 효과적이었다. 넷째, 작품제작중 문제점으로는 화면구성에 있어서 특색있는 공간구도를 형성하는데 어려움이 있었고, 다양한 재질의 면(綿)의 사용으로 배색과정에서 연구자의 의도를 표현하는데 다소 미흡한 점들이 있었다. 모든 제작과정 및 연구과정에 대한 미흡한 점들의 분석을 통하여 앞으로의 창작활동에 대한 연구정진의 새로운 계기로 삼을 것이며, 작가의식의 반영과 더불어 대상의 조형적 탐구와 기법의 효과적 표현 가능성을 추구해 나가면서 주관적인 조형적 가치관을 재정립해 나가고자 한다.;Industrial arts, just required to keep one's life as a simple means of making a living in the past, has recently shown various changes and development due to the change of living spheres and industrial development, in the respect of a living space and emotional level. Accordingly, today's industrial arts trend to develop into the plastic arts which pursue the art for esthetic purpose escoping from the practical purpose, and view the treater's own inner consciousness and image- expression as important. In this respect, making daily goods made of straw whcih has had close and long relations with Korea on object of this study. I aimed to seek for new sense of formative world through expressing spatially one's inner life with liberty and life force. As theoritical backgrounds for this, the sense of formation with art, expression and the beauty of space, and the image enabling us to form an esthetic experience subjectively, have been considered. And for the work creation, I have tried to form a systematic space so as to express a rhythmical and vigorous image taken from the objects. Finally I come to the following conclusions through these theoritical backgrounds. 1. The objects, daily goods made of straw which contain common people's joys and sorrows, were suitable materials to express my own inner image visually through intuitive aesthetic experience. 2. Object formalization, resulted from organic repetition of lives, has formative significance as a pattern of expressing one's creative will and personality. 3. Various touch of the materials, used as a trial to make changes in creating the work, was effective to the deep expression of the space of the objcts, though it was somewhat difficult to apply the sense of color to that. 4. While creating the work, I had difficulty in forming specific space in the composition of a scene and in expressing the mood of transfering my mentality in the color arrangement due to the various aspects of the materials, which can be dedicated as the problem from the work creation. Therefore I analyzed anything insufficient shown in the course of producing and studying, in order to make it new motive enabling me to advance the study for my further creation activities. And I also make endeavor to reestablish subjective sense of value on formalization, pursuing the possibilities of effective expression of the skills and formative observance of objects with reflection of the creator's consciousness.
