노인의 성격 유형과 생활 적응에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 일반적인 개인적 특성과 성격유형들 간의 관계를 파악하고, 그리고 각 성격유형과 생활적응간에 관련성이 있는가를 구명하려는데 그 목적이 있다. Ⅱ에서는 노인의 성격유형과 생활적응에 관한 이론적 고찰로서 첫째, 노년기의 성격이론을 성격의 개념과 노년기의 성격발달과 특성 그리고 성격유형에 대한 정의로 나누어 보았으며, 둘째 노년기의 생활적응을 생활적응의 개념과 노인의 생활만족도에 대해서 살펴보았다. Ⅲ에서는 연구방법 및 분석방법으로서 조사도구를 알아보았다. Ⅳ에서는 응답자들의 일반적인 특성과 연구결과를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 서울 시내의 65세 이상의 일반 남자와 여자를 중심으로 설문지조사를 하였다. 조사부분에서는 첫째, 응답자들의 일반적 특징 둘째, 각 성격 유형별인 적극적통합형, 의존적수동형, 실패과장형, 자기부정형에 대한 성별, 연령, 배우자유무, 교육수준, 최근까지의 직업, 수입유무, 가족의 총 월수입, 여가활용방법, 동거형태와의 상관관계 세째, 생활만족도와 일반배경 변인과의 상관관계를 살펴보았다. 그리고 마지막으로 노인의 각 성격유형과 생활만족도와의 상관관계를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 적극적 통합형은 남자노인, 연령이 낮을수록, 배우자가 있는 경우, 교육수준이 높을수록, 가족의 총 월수입이 높을수록, 수입이 있는 경우, 부부만 살고 있는 경우, 최근까지의 직업이 전문직이었던 경우, 그리고 공식적인 단체나 협회에 가입하여 활동하는 경우에서 의미있게 나타났다. 의존적 수동형은 교육수준이 낮은 경우에 의미있는 차이를 보였고 실패과장형은 여자노인에게서, 배우자가 없는 경우, 연령이 낮을수록 그리고 가족의 총 월수입이 낮은 경우에 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타내었다. 그리고 자기부정형은 가족의 총 월수입이 낮은 경우, 혼자 살고 있는 경우에 유의미하게 나타났다. 그리고 생활만족도는 교육수준이 높을수록, 가족의 총 월수입이 높을수록, 배우자가 있는 경우에, 그리고 결혼한 자녀부부와 함께 살고 있는 경우에 높게 나타났다. 또한 성격유형과 생활만족도간의 상관관계를 분석해 보면 각 유형 모두 생활만족도와 유의미한 상관관계를 보였는데 그 중에서 적극적 통합형과 의존적 수동형은 생활만족도가 높아 적응의 유형이라 할 수 있고, 실패과장형과 자기부정형은 생활만족도가 낮아 부적응의 유형으로 볼 수 있다.;This paper intends to grasp the meaning of the relations between general characteristics and personality types, and to examine the relations between each personality type and life satisfaction. The 1st chapter is a previous examination before the main study of personality types and life adjustment of old age. The 2nd chapter deals with the personality theory, personality types and life adjustment of the old age. It involves theoritical consideration. The 3rd and 4th chapter deal with analysis made by statistical method. The respondents of the questionaire are from men and women of over 65 years old, living in Seoul, the Capital of Korea. Personality types are classified into four types. Type A is the active-integrated coper. Type B is the independent-passive coper. Type C is the failing overcoper. Type D is the self-negating undercoper. The general characteristics of respondents was investigated under 9 categories : sex, age, educational level and the like. Upon investigation, the following facts were found. Type A proved significant to man, young people, married one, highly educated people, people who has large family income, married couple who lives only two, special worker, people who are working in formal group or association. Type B was to uneducated people. Type C was to woman, single, young people, small income earner. Type D was to people who has small family income, single person. According to the results of the analysis of the correlation between personality types and life satisfaction, each personal type showed the valuable correlation with life satisfaction. That is, Type A and Type B are the representative type of adaptation, on the other hand, type C and type D are the unadapted type.
