체크 패턴(Check pattern)에 의한 직물 디자인에 관한 연구

Abstract

고도의 경제 성장을 이룩하였던 한국은 국민의 생활수준이 향상됨에 따라 여가 및 취미생활에 대한 관심이 증가되었다 특히'86서울올림픽 이후 스포츠와 건강에 대한 국민의 의식은 고조되었으며, 이러한 환경과 더불어 고소득층의 스포츠라고 여겨져 왔던 골프(golf)도 연령ㆍ성별ㆍ계층을 초월한 대중 스포츠로서 각광을 받게 되었다. 영국 스코틀랜드 지방에서부터 출현하였던 골프는 다른 격렬한 운동과는 달리 신사적이고 격조있는 매너에 의한 귀족적인 품위를 지니고 있는 정적인 스포츠에 속한다. 골프복(golf wear)도 스윙(swing)ㆍ티업(tee up)ㆍ퍼팅(putting)등의 다양한 동작에 따른 기능성이 요구되지만 전통적이며 우아한 품위를 가진 심미적ㆍ심리적 기능도 요구되고 있다. 일반적으로 스포츠복은 기능성에 따른 소극적인 실루엣의 변화를 특징으로 하고 있기 때문에 대부분 소재 및 패턴 개발이 중요한 부분으로 인식되고 있다. 또한 골프복은 고급 스포츠로서 감성과 품위를 겸비할 수 있기 때문에 젊은층과 여성층에까지 확대되면서 개방스포츠로 인식되고, 스코틀랜드에서 품위의 표상으로서 중요한 위치를 차지하였던 체크문양은 전통성과 다양성 때문에 골프복에 일찌기 도입되어 꾸준히 애용되고 있다. 이에 따라 체크는 급진적인 변화는 없었지만 선의 변화, 색채감각 및 세밀한 구성 등에 의해 예민하게 변화되고 활용되었다. 그러나 복고주위를 표방하는 현대 패션 경향으로 '90년도 이후 다시 각광을 받게 되었던 체크는 2∼3년사이 가장 급진적인 변화를 보이고 있다. 본 연구자는 현 골프복 산업에서 가장 많이 활용되고 있는 체크 문양을 선택하여 선행 연구로는 체크의 기원, 골프의 개념에 대해 알아보았다. 1991년∼1994년까지의 골프복 브랜드에서 주로 사용되어진 체크 문양을 수집 분석함에 있어서 패션트랜드(fashion trend)와의 관련성을 정밀하게 분석함으로써 현 스포츠복 직물의 향후 개발 가능성에 대해 고찰하고자 하였다. 작품 연구로는 조직의 기본인 평직에 의한 체크 문양을 실험하였다. 여기에서 조직의 변화에 의한 다양성보다 경사/위사 교차에 의한 색상ㆍ질감 구성에 따른 감각의 효과를 추구하였다. 또한 현재 활발히 진행되고 있는 산ㆍ학 협동의 차원으로서 본 연구자는 다양한 실험에 의해 창안된 직물 샘플 중 현 트랜드에 맞는 샘플을 선택하여 컨버터 회사에 의뢰, 제직시켰다. 그 결과 실의 굵기, 경사의 밀도, 간격에 따른 부분적인 문제점이 발견되었으며 한국 고유의 직물 개발을 위해서는 훌륭한 디자인과 그에 따른 기술적 문제점 해결 및 직물 문양의 전문성이 최우선 과제라는 점을 인식하였다.;The continuous economical development of Korea and the resulting growth of living standard contribute to the increase of interest in a dilettante life or how to make most of a life of leisure. Especially the two world events, '86 Seoul Asian Game and '88 Seoul Olympics, inspired the nations' interest in sports and health so that golf could be recognized as a game of peoples, not of the rich to be enjoyed by male and female, old and young. Orignated in a provine in Scotland, golf has been regarded as one of the noble sports with high dignity., completely different from other rough sports. Golf wear also need aesthetical and psychological function showing traditional and elegant look, to say nothing of its own function as clothing according to a variety of movements including swing, tee up and putting. The development of materials and patterns for sports wear is recognized as an important step, since most of sports wear are characterized by their undistinctive silhouette due to the original function of sports. As it can be manufactured and expressed with sensitivity and nobility as for the high-class sports, the use of golf wear is expanded to and welcome by the young, especially the ladies. Its check pattern, which are accounted much of in Scotland to indicate his or her dignity, is one of the designs most and ceaselessly used from the beginning for golf wear because of its tradition and diversity. Check has no drastic change in terms of its design but is reflected by or utilize the modification of line or color or the fine organization. The present fashion trend for reactionism results in the most change, during recent 2-3years, in check patterns which come to be highlighted again from the 90's. For this study, some check patterns most used in the golf wear industry during 1991 and 1994 are selected to analyze their relation with the fashion trend in those days and the origin of golf to see the possibility of their development in the future, and the concept of golf are explored. Check patterns by plain, the basic construction, are experimented with the sensual effect using colors and quality from the intersection of warp and weft being pursued rather than any diversity by constructional change. As a way for the Cooperation between Industry and School already being under way, some fabric samples which have been made through various experiments and are suitable for the present trend are chosen and sent to a converter firm to produce them. It is disclosed that there are some problems in the thickness of thread, density of warp, and gap and that outstanding design and special technology to resolve any technical problems and develop fabric patterns are necessary to create our traditional textiles, fabrics.
