복합적 표현에 의한 구조적 공간 연구

Abstract

Modernism deals with the world of alienated individuals in terms of alienation of person, loneliness and loss of humanity in the latter capitalistic period. And, Modernism lets them concentrate its attention inside of self and accordingly creates self-expression of an artist on the requirements, that is, the revelation of internal actuality while reaches an extreme stage. There are signs of an impending downfall of this Modernism at Minimalism. On the other hand, Post-modernism was on the rise in the 1980's that charges a mode of living of society, enterprises, nation and individual to the maximum, not to be minimum. The works of artists who express style and substance of various kinds get rich as time goes on. It was a spirit of the times and it has come Into use the sord of "Pluralism" with sympathy. The notion of "restoration to essence", "quality of plane" is on the decline in the artists' world of the 1980's that has not a dominant style. Installations for one-time use are abundant in number and scribbling is included in it as well. Under this condition, the world of works forms style which denies tradition but has cognizance of the point that can not get rid of tradition completely and tried to adopt new ways of expression. This research is focused on the side of contents and analysis of my works. These works point that there is no necessity of being restricted in the artistic expression, and I ave adopted an abstract form that expresses infinite feelings toward freedom. However the problem in material elements is a question that requires further study. The geometric forms in my works are intended to form a deeper picture plane and the direct stream of movement is in combination with geometric and spiritual factor. In conclusion, I have intended to attain composite and united composition of picture to express two streams of reason and emotion which speak for human consciousness through the power of reason and unrestricted expression. I think that this study will contribute to my future art works as a foundation.;후기자본주의 시대가 가져온 인간의 소외, 고독, 인간성의 상실등의 문제에 관해, 모더니즘(Modernism)은 그 속에서 소외된 개인의 세계를 다루게 되는데, 예술가의 자기표현, 즉 내적현실(Internal reality)을 드러내는 것이 극대화 됨으로써 그 자신의 내적인 것에 주의를 집중시키고 그것의 요구에 따라 창조해 나가는 이러한 모더니즘은 60년대의 미니멀리즘(Minimalism)에 이르러 그 말기적 증상을 찾아볼 수 있다. 한편, 다른 한쪽에서는 최소한이 아닌 최대한의 내용과 형식으로 이 사회, 기업, 국가, 개인의 생활양식을 고발하고, 경종을 울리는 태도를 취하는 이른바 포스트 모더니즘(Post-Modernism)이 80년대에 이르러 대두되었다. 이전에는 볼 수 없었던 잡다한 양식과 내용을 표현하는 일군의 작품들이 갈수록 많아지고, 그것이 하나의 시대적 흐름으로 느껴져 다원주의(Pluralism)라는 말이 공감을 갖고 사용되기도 하였다. 이렇다할 지배양식이 없는 실로 다양한 양식과 개인의 관심세계가 제각기 펼쳐지기도 한 80년대의 화단에서는 '본질로의 환원', '평면성'등의 개념들이 서서히 쇠퇴하는 듯이 보이며, 그 대신 일회적인 설치작업(Installation)이 많아지고, 낙서화(Scribbling)들도 화단에 편입되기도 하였다. 이러한 시대상황에서 본인의 작품세계는 보다 자유롭게 회화본질을 추구함으로써 나름대로 새로운 표현형식을 취하고자 노력하였으며, 본 논문에서는 좀 더 체계적으로 이론적, 정신적 기반을 연구해 보는 기회를 갖고자 하였다. 본 연구는 내용적인 면, 방법적인 면, 본인 작품분석으로 나누어 구성된다. 본인의 작품제작과정에 있어서 독창적이고 실험적인 면으로 예술의 형식적인 측면에 입각하여 조형관계의 본질을 탐구하고자 한다. 본 작품들은 외적개념의 시각적 표현에 제한될 필요가 없다는 점을 인식하고, 인간자신의 내면세계에 존재하는 자유를 향한 무한감정이라는 것을 표현하는 방식으로서 추상적 형식을 취하게 되었으며, 물질적 요소에 대한 문제는 좀 더 연구해보아야 할 과제이다. 본인의 작품에서 보여지는 기하학적인 형태들은 감각적이고 직접적인 흐름을 기하학적이고 정신적인 요소와 결합시킴으로서 좀 더 깊이있는 화면을 구성하고자 함이다. 또한 자유가 제공하는 여러가지 맥락속에서 회화상의 표현가능성을 살펴보고, 끝으로 본인작품을 최대한 객관적으로 검토, 분석하여 보았다. 인간이 가지는 이성의 힘과 자율적인 표현을 통해 인간의식을 대변하고 있는 이성과 감정, 두개의 흐름을 한 화면에 표현하여 종합적이고 복합적인 화면구성을 이룩하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 앞으로 본인의 작품제작에 있어서의 새로운 계기가 되고자 하였다.
