교육사상에 나타난 여성의 교육에 관한 연구

Abstract

The feminist perspectives found on the cognization that women are oppressed by the patriarchal ideology in existing social structure. Based on such understanding, this study examines the reason why women are placed in the peripheral positions in the social structure, and the reason why women to be dehumanized. And it is hard to achieve their self-realization, from the viewpoint of the alienation of woman. Hitherto, most of the studies on the relations between schooling and sex discrimination were concentrated on the way how schooling contributes to the reproduction of sex discriminative socio-economic structure, and it is hard to find the articles which discuss the relations between schooling and the alienation of women from the standpoint of educational ideal. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the women's educational thought of Plato and Rousseau, and the conception of liberal education that is discussed by the modern analytic educational philosopher which is based on analytic philosophy from feminist viewpoint. This study aims to set forth "Gender Sensitive Educational Ideal" as a new educational ideal. To achieve these purposes, first, I proved that the nature of issues on women exists in the alienation of women ; and the phenomena of alienation of women which are raised from the whole realms of schooling, for example, educational ideals, the curriculum, the leading principles of each school, the reciprocal actions beteen teachers and students and so forth. Second, I examined the arguments that criticize the invisible women in the history of educational thoughts, and found practical examples from Plato and Rousseau's educational thoughts. On the other hand, I inquired the alienation of women which was incurred from the ideal of liberlly educated person. At the conclusion, I set forth the "Gender-Sensitive Ideal" as a new ideal which may overcome the alienation of women, and I suggested feminist pedagogy as a practical possibility to do that, and emotion education as a way of teaching.;여성학적 시각은 여성이 교육을 포함한 모든 사회구조내에서 남성중심의 가부장적 이데올로기로부터 억압되고 있다는 인식에 근거를 두고 있다. 본문에서는 이와 같은 인식에 기초하여, 여성이 사회구조적으로 주변적 위치에 놓여지고 비인간화됨으로써 자아실현을 이루기 어렵게 되는 원인을 여성소외에서 찾고자 한다. 이제까지 교육과 성차별의 관계를 다루어 온 연구들은 주로 학교교육이 성차별적인 구조의 재생산에 어떻게 기여하고 있는가에 촛점을 맞추고 있으며, 학교교육과 여성소외의 관계를 교육이념의 측면에서 논의한 연구는 드물었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 플라톤과 루소의 여성교육사상 및 분석철학에 기초한 현대 교육철학에서 논의되고 있는 교양교육(liberal education)의 개념을 여성학적 시각에서 비판하고 새로운 교육적 이념으로서 '성을 고려한 교육이상'을 정립하는 데 그 목적을 둔다. 이러한 연구목적을 이루기 위해서 본 논문에서는 먼저 여성 문제의 본질이 여성소외에 있음을 밝히고. 교육이념, 교육과정 및 학교생활 등 학교교육 전반에서 드러나는 여성소외의 현상들을 검토했다. 다음으로 교육사상사에서 여성이 비가시적 존재임을 비판하는 논의를 검토하고 그 구체적인 사례를 플라톤과 루소의 교육사상속에서 밝혀보고자 했다. 한편 현대 분석교육 철학에서 논의되는 자유교양민(liberally educated person)의 이상이 내포한 여성소외의 측면을 검토했다. 마지막으로 여성소외를 극복하기 위한 교육의 지향성을 '성을 고려한_교육이상'으로 보고 그 구체적인 실현 방안으로서 여성해방론적 교육학(feminist pedagogy)과 교수방법으로서의 정서교육을 검토했다.
