졸업연주회 프로그램을 중심으로 한 G.F.Haendel, G.Mahler, M.Ravel, M.Head, G.Rossini의 성악작품에 대한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회 프로그램에 대한 연구로서 각 작품의 음악적인 배경과 특징에 대해 알아보았다. George Fridrich Ha¨ndel(1685~1759)은 바로크시대의 대표적인 작곡가로서 특히 오페라와 오라토리오로 명성을 얻었다. "Let the bright Seraphim"은 오라토리오 「Samson」 중에 나오는 곡으로 선율은 비교적 단순하지만 힘찬 곡이다. "Meine Seele ho¨rt im Sehen"은 종교적 주제를 다룬 작품으로 「Neun Deutsche Arien」중 6번째 곡이며 violion obligato를 가진 Da Capo Aria로 되어있다. Gustav Mahler(1860~1911)는 후기 낭만시대의 대표적인 작곡가이며 그의 가곡 작품들은 교향곡에 뒤지지 않는 중요한 의미를 가지고 있다. 그의 대표적인 연가곡 "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen"은 초기에 속하는 작품으로 낭만적이고 민요적 요소가 많이 나온다. Maurice Ravel(1875~1937)은 프랑스 고전주의의 전통과 인상주의를 혼합하여 독특한 양식을 만든 작곡가이다. 그의 "Five Greek Folk Songs"는 5곡으로 된 연가곡이며 민요를 수집하여 편곡한 곡으로서 선법을 사용하였다. Michael Head(1900~1976)는 영국의 작곡가로서 현대 작곡가이면서도 전통적인 곡의 형식을 고수하였다. "Over the Rim of the Moon"은 4곡으로 된 연가곡으로서 현대음악에 많이 사용되는 4도·6도·7도의 음정도약도 가끔 쓰였다. Gioacchino Rossini(1792~1868)는 19세기 전반기의 가장 중요한 이탈리아 오페라 작곡가로서 50여개의 오페라 작품을 남겼다. 「La Gazza Ladra」는 2막으로 된 작품이며, 아리아 "Di piacer mi balza il cor"는 기쁨에 찬 마음을 노래한 것으로 선율은 순차와 도약진행이 대조를 이루고 있고, 장식음이 많이 사용되었다.;This study on the program of graduation recital for the completion of the master's course aims to investigate the musical background and characteristics of each work performed. Georg Fridrich Ha＂ndel(1685∼1759) is a representative composer of the baroque period. Especially, he made a reputation with opera and oratorio. As for "Let the bright Seraphim", an aria in the oratorio, 『Samson』 , has a vigorous, but comparatively simple melody. "Meine Seele ho＂rt im Sehen" is the 6th song among 『Neun Deutsche Arien』 with which religious themes were dealt. The form of this work is Da Capo Aria with violin obligato. Gustav Mahler(1860∼1911) is a representative composer of late-romantic era. His songs have as an important meaning as his symphonies. His representative song cycle, "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen" is one of his earlier works which contains many elements of folk song. Maurice Ravel(1875∼1937) makes the special mode by mixing the tradition of French classicism and impressionism. As for "Five Greek Folk Songs", folk songs were collected and arranged, and a mode was used to unify this song cycle which comprises 5 songs. In spite of the fact that Michael Head(1900∼1976) was a modern English composer, he kept. to the traditional mode of song. "Over the Rim of the Moon" is a song cycle composed of 4 songs. Though it is composed according to the traditional technique of composition, there are interval jumps of a 4th. 6th, and 7th which are frequently used in the modern music. Gioacchino Rossini (1792∼1868) was the most importent composer of Italian opera in the first half of the 19th century. He left 50 operatic works. His opera, 『La Gazza Ladra』 is consisted of two acts. The aria, "Di piacer mi balza il cor" sings of the heart full of joy. The melody is composed of contrasting phrases in conjunt and disjunct motion. At the same time there is a consisderable use of decorative rhythm.
