상담자의 해석형태와 내담자의 인지양식이 상담효율성에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The present study is to examine the effects of counselor's interpretation and client's cognitive style on efectiveness of the first counseling. For the porpose of the present study, it was examined the differential effectiveness of two counselor's interpretation styles(tentative interpretation and absolute interpretation style) when delivered to subjects who were classified as field-dependent and field independent accordign to cognitive style. A total of 72 female college students were preselected as subjects by GEFT(Group Embadded Figure Test), and then divided into two groups, which were field-dependent and field-independent. Subject in both the field-dependent and field-independent, group were randomly assigned to one of two experimental conditions: tentative or absolute interpretation. Subjects listend to the audio-taped analogue counseling and evaluated the Counselor Rating Farm-short, added questionare and post questionare. The dependent variables for this experiment were subject's perception of the counselor's social influence (expertness, attractiveness and trustworthness), the helpfulness of counselor's interpretation arid the subjects' willingness to be counseled by the counselor in the study. The experiment was designed by 2(interpretation style) x 2(cognitive style) and MANOVA and ANOVA were applied to analyse the data. The results of this study are as fallows. First, interaction effect between interpretation style and cognitive style was not significant for the CRF-S, the helpfulness item and the willingness item. Second, subjects perceived more highly the counselor's attractiveness in the tentative interpretation style than in the absolute interpretation style. Third, the subject who are field-dependent than field-independent perceived more highly the counselor's attractiveness. The results of the present study showed that counselor's tentative interpretation than absolute interpretation has an important effect on counseling outcome and also when client's cognitive style is field-dependent, which has an positive effect on effectiveness of counseling outcome.;본 연구는 상담자의 해석형태와 내담자의 인지양식이 초기상담에서 상담의 효율성에 미치는 영향에 대해서 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목적을 위하여 상담자의 해석형태는 잠정적 해석형태와 단정적 해석형태로 조작하고,내담자의 특성으로는 인지양식의 장독립성과 장의존성으로 분류하여 상담의 효율성을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 피험자로는 72명의 여대생을 장의존적 집단과 장독립적 집단으로 각각 36명씩 선정하였다. 그리고 각조건별로 18명씩 무선 할당하여 모의상담을 실시한후, 피험자에게 상담자평가질문지, 추가질문지 사후질문지를 평정하도록 하였다. 종속변인으로 상담자 평가에서는 신뢰성, 전문성,호감도 점수를 사용했고 추가질문지에서는 해석의 도움정도와 상담자와 만나고 싶은 정도를 사용하였다. 자료는 MANOVA와 ANOVA를 이용하여 통계처리하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상담자의 해석형태와 내담자의 인지양식간에 상호작용은 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 피험자들은 단정적 해석형태보다 잠정적 해석형태일 때 상담자에 대한 호감도를 높게 지각하였다.(p<.05)그러나 상담자에 대한 전문성과 신뢰성, 해석의 도움정도, 상담자와 만나고 싶은 정도에 대해서는 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 장독립적인 사람들보다 장의존적인 사람들이 상담자에 대한 호감도를 더 높게 지각하였다(p<.001)그러나 역시 나머지 종속변인에 대해서는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 본 연구결과로, 상담자의 잠정적 해석형태와 단정적 해석형태를 비교할 때 잠정적 해석형태가 보다 효율적인 상담자의 언어반응이라는 것과 아울러 내담자의 인지양식이 장의존적일 때 상담의 효율성에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 부분적으로 밝히고, 앞으로 해석연구를 위한 방향과 본 연구의 제한점에 대해 논의부분에서 다루어졌다.
