설치유형을 통한 조형분석에 관한 연구

Abstract

현대미술의 경향은 조형개념의 다변화로서 과거로부터 내려오는 고유의 개념과 양식에 구애받지 않고 표현재료와 표현영역의 확장으로, 평면적 시각에서 입체적 공간으로, 더 나아가 환경조형으로 확장해 가고 있다. 새로운 공간의 인식과 공간 이미지의 확산으로 탈쟝르의 경향을 띄며, 전 쟝르에 걸쳐 오브제의 실험이 가져온 직접적인 영향과 새로운 소재 개발의 방법론으로, 섬유 설치작업(Installation)은 새로운 표형양식으로서 총체적 예술 영역의 자리를 굳히고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현대미술에서 전개된 섬유 설치작업이 현대 섬유예술 안에서 어떠한 위치를 차지하고 있는가를 규명하기 위해 섬유 설치작업의 개념과 유형분류를 통해 그에 따른 조형적 특성을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 연구내용으로는 20세기 섬유예술의 등장과 더불어 섬유 설치작업의 발달과 전개를 밝히고 국내외 여러 설치작품의 유형분류와 조형적 특징을 살펴봄과 동시에 본 연구자의 설치작품의 미적 형식을 분석 연구하고자 한다. 연구 결과 섬유 설치작업의 설치유형 분류에 있어서 내부공간, 외부공간, 복합형, 3가지로 공간 활용 범위를 제한하고 걸기(hanging), 드리우기(suspended), 자의적 배치(scattered), 장치 (setting), 날리기(flying), 세우기(standing), 놓기(grounding)로 분류하였다. 섬유 설치작업은 섬유의 실용적 의미를 넘어선 미적 수단으로서 공간과 함께 3차원의 입체구조를 가지는 환경조형으로서 인간이 그 안에 「존재할 수 있는」 열려진 개념으로 새로운 현실을 창조하게 되었다.;The concept of art has become diversified and changed in a great deal recently, and the materials and scopes of expression has also increased. Therefore, the current trend of art is enlarging its range from the two-dimensional presentations to the three-dimensional spaces, and further, to the environmental art, without adhering to the traditional concepts and styles. There is a remarkable tendency to escape from the categorization of art fields due to the realization of the new spaces and the generalization of the space images, and the experiments with "object" have resulted influences over almost all types of art. In this context, the fiber installation is consolidating its position as a representative field of contemporary art, being to new style of expression in the 80's and a method for the development of new materials. The purpose of this study is to analyze the formative characteristic of the fiber installation using the method of classification for the concepts and modes, in order to examine what position the installation, which has developed in modern art, occupies in the contemporary fiber art. This study indudes the advent of fiber art in the twentieth century, the origin and development of fiber installation, the classification and formative characteristic of several domestic and foreign installation works, and The analytical examination of the aesthetic style of my own installation work as well. The results show that the fibrr installation has three space utilization types : indoor, outdoor, both indoor and outdoor, and it can be classified into seven modes ;hanging suspended, scattered, setting, flying, standing and grounding modes. The fiber art installation is an enviromental art that goes beyond the limit of the fiber with the practical meaning, and it presents the three-dimensional quality with the space as an aesthetic resource.
