졸업연주회 프로그램을 중심으로 한 L. V. Beethoven, R. Schumann, H. Wolf, C. Debussy, G. Menotti의 성악작품에 대한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 필자가 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업연주회에서 연주했던 작품들에 대한 연구로서 각 곡을 분석함으로써 각 작곡자의 음악적 특성을 살펴본 것이다. Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827)은 고전파 음악의 대가로 약 60여곡의 성악곡을 작곡했다. 그의 초기의 작품인 Concert aria "Ah! Perfido"는 총 266마디에 이르는 긴 곡으로 Scene와 aria로 구성된다. 자기를 배반한 연인에 대한 복수심과 사랑을 극적으로 표현하고 있는 이 곡은 조성과 빠르기의 변화가 많고 음역이 넓은 대규모의 성악곡이다. Robert Schumann(1810-1856)은 Franz Schubert와 함께 독일 낭만주의 가곡을 발전시킨 작곡가이다. 그의 가곡은 시에 대한 깊은 해석과 피아노 반주의 역할이 두드러진다. "Auftra¨ge"에서는 피아노 반주에 많은 기교가 요구되어지고 "Meine Rose"에서는 시에서 받은 영감을 아름다운 선율로서 표현하였다. Hugo Wolf(1860-1903)는 독특한 낭송적 Style을 통해서 시의 내용을 음악에 잘 표현하였다. "Nimmersatte Liebe", "Das Verlassene Ma¨gdlein", "Elfenlied"에서는 감정적 절정부에서 증3화음과 반복되는 리듬동기를 사용하여 Wolf의 특징이 잘 드러난다. Claude Debussy(1862-1918)의 「Ariettes Oublie´es」는 Paul Verlaine에 의한 6개의 시로 구성된 노래이며 이 곡에서는 교회 선법, 전음음계, 당김음, 계류음등을 많이 사용하여 인상주의 분위기가 잘 드러난다. Gian-carlo Menotti(1911- )는 이태리 오페라의 전통과 현대적 기법을 적절히 사용하여 극적효과가 뛰어난 오페라를 작곡했다. 「The Old maid and the thief」는 그의 초기 경향을 대표하는 작품으로 현대인의 양면적 속성을 풍자적으로 다루고 있다. 하녀 Laetitia의 아리아 "Steal me, Sweet thief"에서는 짧은 레시타티브안에서 극적효과가 잘 드러나며 아리아의 선율은 단순하며 아름답다. 이상의 작품들은 각각 시대와 언어적으로 다양하며 각 작곡가에 따른 음악어법의 특성등을 잘 나타내주고 있다.;The writer performed a graduation recital on October 10th, 1991 for the M.M.degree. This thesis aims to investigate the backgrounds and analyze characteristics of the performed. pieces which were composed by five composers. Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827) was the greatest composer of the classical period and composed about 60 vocal pieces. Concert aria 'Ah! Perfido' which was produced in his early stage consists of a scene and aria, and is comprised of 266 measures. Retaliatory spirit and love for going against lover are dramatically expressed in the work. It has many varieties of form and tempo. It is a large scale vocal composition with a wide compass. Robert Schumann(1810-1856) was the composer Who developed the German romantic Lied with Franz Schubert. Concern with poetry and the role of the piano accompaniment were reimarkable characteristics in his Lied; For "Auftra＂ge" much technical skill is needed for the piano part. In "Meine Rose" inspiration given by the poem is expressed by a beautifuI melody. Hugo Wolf(1860-1903) well expressed poetry in music using the declamation style. In "Nimmersatte Liebe" "Das Verlassene Magdlein" and "Elfenlied" his characteristics are well represented. He used unique har- mony and repetitive rhythmic motives for an emotional climax. Claude Debussy(1862-1918) initiated Impressionism and was contributed to the development of the 20th century's modern music. 「Ariettes Oublie´es」 which was dealt with in this thesis was composed to 6 poems by Paul Verlaine. An impressionistic mood was shown in these pieces by using church modes, whole tone scale, syncopation and suspension. Gian carlo Menotti(1911-) composed operas which are distinguished for their dramatic effect. He applied the tradition of Italian opera to a modern style. A one-act opera 「The old maid and the thief」 was composed for radio. This piece represented his early period's trend and modern society. Laetitia's aria ''Steal me, Sweet thief" has a dramatic effect in short recitative style. It's melody is 1 simple and beautiful. The works mentioned above are varied in period and language, and well represent the musical characteristics of each composer.
