老子의 道와 政治

Abstract

In the Chunqiu-zhanguo (春秋戰國) period of ancient China, all philosopher and litary scholars tried to solve the historical circumstance problem. So, Laotzu (老子) 's philosophy was created in the same process. Since then, people have interpreted Laotzu's philosophy variously with their own view. But their research omit details about the process and the system of Laotzu's philosophy. They only tend to concentrate on analyses of partial terms. Therfore, according to critic's view, Laotzu has been estimated either a nililist or a politician. Also, he has been judged either an idealist or a materialist. This is the reason that no one trys ' to make Laotzu alive ‘, Simply because they exploit Laotzu's philsophy for their philosophical proposition or bring into releif a field of propits. Laotzu's philosophy is constructed by Metaphysics which is based on political criticism and criticism of society. This is made in a process of ruination of current situation. Tao (道) is not only the origin of Universe but also the direction which shows the right direction of life. The intimate relation between Metaphysics and political thought is a specific character of Chinese philosophy and this defines Laotzu's philosophy. The political ideal which Laotzu proposed is not to reign, but to satisfy all man's basic desires. Through the study which search for a cause of alienation and repression, Laotzu finds irrational things that come from established law, value and system. And he suggests to abolish those irrational things. Laotzu's philosophical purpose is not to have pure thinking, but to synthesize the thingking and the practice. The purpose of this study is reconstruction of Laotzu's philosophy comprehensively. And it intends to examine a possibility to make Laotzu's philosophy alive through 1. the process of Laotzu's philosophy. 2. Metaphysical system of Tao, 3. political thought which is based on Metaphysical system of tao, and 4. the historical progress of Laotzu's philosophy.;中國 春秋戰國 시대의 百家爭鳴은 당시의 사회적 정치적 혼란상황을 해결하려는 의도에서 비롯되었고, 老子哲學도 그러한 과정에서 탄생했다. 이들에게 철학은 단순한 사유의 학이 아니라 실천적인 것과 관련되어 있는 것이다. 그러나 후대의 평가는 노자철학을 단순히 순수사유의 측면 혹은 통치술적인 측면에 치우쳐 파악하는 경향이 있어 왔다. 이것은 노자철학의 본 뜻을 이해하고 있는 것이다. 본 논문은 노자철학에 있어서 '道와 政治사상 '의 연관에 대해 고찰한 것이다. 먼저 Ⅱ장에서는 노자라는 개인의 문제, 노자와 『노자』의 시대문제, 『노자』에 나타난 사상문제를 다루는 문헌비평과 노자철학의 형성과정에 대해 다루었다. 여기서는 그가 전국시대의 혼란상을 목격한 후 사회불합리의 원인을 발견하고 대안을 제시하는 과정에 대해 재구성하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 道의 형이상학 체계에 대해 고찰하였다. 형이상학적 사유의 특색과 道의 성격, 道의 효용에 대한 고찰을 통해, 道가 형이상학적 체계의 정점이자 정치원리이기도 하다는 것을 밝혔다. Ⅳ장에서는 道의 원리에 따르는 정치이상의 모습에 대해 고찰했다. '小國寡民' 이라는 이상사회관에 대한 고찰을 통해 노자는 소외없는 대동을 지향하는 정치이상을 계시한다. 이것은 중국철학사를 통해 전체정치를 비판하는 반지배의 이상을 나타내는 흐름으로 계승된다. Ⅴ장에서 이러한 흐름에 대한 고찰이 '노자철학의 역사적 발전' 이라는 주제 아래 정리되었다. 이러한 재구성과정에서 발견된 노자철학의 발전가능성에 대한 고찰을 시사함으로써 글을 맺었다. 이 연구는 '단순히 글자만 보고 뜻을 해석하는 것' 이 아니라, 가능한 한에 있어 노자의 시대와 철학적 과제 등에 대해 종합적으로 접근함으로써 노자철학을 재구성하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 그러한 과정을 통해 노자철학을 오늘날 다시 되살릴 수 있는 가능성을 고찰하여 전통과 현실을 접목시키는 것이야말로 전통철학에 대한 올바른 접근이 될 것이다.
