유치원과 국민학교 교육의 연계성에 관한 공립유치원 원장과 교사의 인식

Abstract

본 연구는 유치원과 국민학교 교육의 연계성에 관한 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사의 인식에 어떤 차이가 있는지를 알아보는데 목적을 두었다. 연구대상은 충청북도내의 11개 시·군에 설립된 총291개 공립유치원의 원장과 교사 각각 1명씩을 대상으로 하였다. 연구도구로는 이 귀윤, 이 경우, 이 기숙(1989)에 의하여 개발된 "유치원과 국민학교 1학년 교육의 연계성에 대한 실태" 질문지를 본 연구자가 수정하여 사용하였다. 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 공립 유처원의 원장과 교사는 유치원의 교육목적 및 목표에 대하여 어떻게 생각하고 있는가? 2. 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사는 유치원의 교육과정에 대하여 어떻게 생각하고 있는가? 3. 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사는 유치원의 교수방법에 대하여 어떻게 생각하고 있는가? 4. 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사는 유치원에서 이루어지는 평가에 대하여 어떻게 생각하고 있는가? 5. 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사는 유치원의 물리적 환경에 대하여 어떻게 생각하고 있는가? 6. 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사는 교사교육에 대하여 어떻게 생각하고 있는가? 7. 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사는 유치원과 국민학교 교육의 연계성에 대한 관점이 어떠한가? 8. 공립 유치원의 원장과 교사는 공립 유치원 운영에 대한 관점이 어떠한가? 자료처리는 하위 영역별로 나누어진 문항에 대하여는 원장과 교사간의 인식 차이를 알아보기 위하여 t검증으로 분석하였고, 교육과정, 물리적 환경·연계 실태에 대하여는 백분율에 의한 빈도 처리와 x^(2)검증을 하였으며, 연계성에 대한 인식과 실제 교육과정 운영과의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 상관(r)을 보았다. 분석된 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 유치원 교육목적에 대하여는 교사가 원장보다 더 중요하게 인식하였다. 2. 유치원 교육목표 설정시 고려할 점에 있어서 교사는 유아의 흥미와 발달을 더 중요시하는데 비하여 원장은 문교부 교육과정을 중요시하였다. 3. 원장은 유치원 교육과정에 대하여 잘 모르고 있었고, 교사는 국민학교 교육과정에 대하여 잘 모르고 있었다. 4. 원장과 교사가 모두 교육과정 공동 개발의 필요성을 인식하나 교사가 원장보다 절실하게 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 5. 원장의 공립 유치원에서의 교수방법에 대한 인식과 교사의 실제 교수방법간에는 차이가 있었다. 6. 평가는 원장이 인식하고 있는 것보다 교사가 실제 현장에서 더 자주 실시하였다. 7. 국민학교 저학년 교실을 흥미영역 중심으로 운영해야 할 필요성에 대하여 교사가 원장보다 더 필요하다고 인식하였다. 8. 교사교육에서 유치원과 국민하교간의 상호교육에 대한 이해의 필요성은 원장보다 교사가 더 많이 인식하였다. 9. 유치원과 국민학교 교육의 연계성에 대하여 교사는 원장보다 서로간의 연계가 잘 이루어지지 않았다고 인식하였다. 연계 교육의 필요성에 대해서는 교사가 더 많이 인식하였다. 10. 원장은 공립 유치원이 국민학교 운영에 도움이 된다는 인식이 더 높게 나타났으나 유치원 운영에 어려움을 느끼는 경우도 많았다. 교사는 원장과 교사의 교육관의 차이, 국민학교 업무 과중으로 인한 유치원 교육과정 운영의 어려움, 학부모의 협조 부족 등의 어려움을 느끼고 있었다.;This study attempts to investigate the perception between the principals and teachers of the public kindergarten in recognizing the articulation of the kindergarten and the elementary school. The principals and the teachers from 291 public kindergartens in the province of ch'ung ch'ongbuk-do were selected as the study. The questionnaires developed by Kui Yoon Lee, et a1. (1989) were revised by the researcher, and used as the tool for this study. In order to deal with the subclassfied questions which examine the perceptual difference between the principals and the teachers, t-test was computed. And Frequency ,percentage and Chi square (X^(2)) were employed to process the data about the curriculum, the physical environment, and the state of the articulation. In addition, the Correlation (r) was calculated with to see if there is any relationship between the recognition of articulation and the actual performance of the curriculum. Analyzed results of the study are as follows: 1. The teachers recognize the importance of the educational goals more keenly than the principals. 2. In establishing the educational goals, the teachers put their emphasis on the children's interest and developmental stage, while the principals are more interested in the curriculum put forward by the Ministry of Education. 3. The principals are not fully aware of the curriculum of kindergarten. On the other hand the teachers are not well acquainted with that of the elementary school. 4. Both the principals and the teachers recognize that the joint development of the curriculum is necessary. However, the teachers' recognition of it is more serious than the principals 5. There exist differences between the principals' understanding of teaching methods and the teachers' actual teaching methods. 6. Evaluations on the educational scenes are performed more frequently than the principals expect. 7. The teachers are conscious of the necessity that the primary grade (k-3) students should be educated with interest-orientation more acutely than the principals. 8. The teachers put more emphasis than the principals on the necessity of the mutual education between the kindergarten and the elementary school in educating the teachers. 9. The teachers rather than the principals are aware that the education in the kindergarten is not well. connected with that in the elementary school. As a result they recognize the necessity of the connective education more acutely than the principals 10. The principals believe more that the kindergarten can be of service to the management of the elementary school, but the trouble with them is that the management of the kindergarten has its own difficulties. On the other hand the difficulties which the teachers find are as follows: the difference between the principals' and the teachers' educational view, the trouble in practing the curriculum of the kindergarten that results from the excessive work in the elementary school, the lack of the parents' cooperation, etc.
