人間形象에 반영된 現實性 硏究

Abstract

'內容'과 '形式'의 관계에 대한 문제제기는 현대회화의 흐름에 있어서 수세기에 걸쳐 항상 반복되어 왔다. 개인의 創造的 行爲로써 순수조형의 추구와 인간의 內面性 표출만을 강조하였던 抽象繪畵는 일상의 現實生活과 유리된 채, 공허한 형식만으로 남게되어 藝術을 大衆으로부터 疏外시키는 現狀을 낳고 말았다. 이에 무엇보다도 예술가가 한 個體로서의 人間임을 깨달아야 한다. 인간의 존재가 社會的 狀況을 떠나서는 무의미하듯이 예술가 또한 그 時代 社會的조건에 영향을 받을 수 밖에 없는 것이다. 따라서 작가는 그 사회의 시대적 상황에 대한 확고한 意志를 가져야 한다. 그러므로 인간의식의 산물인 예술작품 또한 시대적·사회적 상황과의 관련성 안에서 사람들에게 자신의 現實을 認識할 수 있도록 깨우치는 것이어야 한다. 따라서 本 論文에서는 한 歷史的 段階에서 그 사회적 조건을 조명하여 대중에게 현실에 대한 총체적이고 객관적인 인식과 批判意識을 제시하였던 19세기 리얼리즘회화의 기본입장과 아울러 '예술의 대중화'를 이룩하였던 팝아트의 대중적 표현양식의 의미를 해석하여 그 예술의 사회적 의의를 규명하였으며 그같은 시각에 근거하여 인간 모습을 통해 현대인의 環境과 精神狀況을 표현하여 대중과의 共感帶를 형성하려 한 본인의 작품세계를 평가하고자 하였다. 이에 본인은 현대를 살아가는 인간을 實存的 人間象으로 파악하고 현대문명에서의 '人間性 喪失'과 '疏外'의 문제를 人間形象에 반영시킴으로써 人間存在의 문제를 喚起시키고자 하였다. 즉 인간에게 주어진 現存의 가치를 인간형상에 담아 그 모습을 통해 그 사회의 시대적 상황속에서 겪는 精神的 彷徨을 묘사하고자 한것이다. 이와같은 현실반영의 입장에서 현실적 존재로서의 '人間形象'의 의미를 대중에게 이해시키기 위해서 본인은 일상생활의 체험과 밀착된 소재들을 작품에서 다루려고 하였다. 이러한 측면에서 볼때, 內容과 形式의 兩面性은 늘 공존해야 함을 인식하면서 본인의 작품을 分析하였다. 表現過程에 있어서는 사실적인 묘사로 단순한 再現의 차원이 아닌, 현실에 대한 객관적 인식을 표현하려 하였으며 素材선택에 있어서도 인간적 상황이 놓인 현실적 이미지들로 표현하고자 하였다. 여기서 회화는 완성된 하나의 작품으로 그치는 것이 아니라 대중과의 의사소통 수단으로서의 기능도 수행해야 한다는 입장을 취하였다. 이러한 實踐的 硏究를 통해서 오늘날 인간이 처한 현실상황에 대한 총체적이고 객관적 인식과 함께 그 문제점들을 대중에게 제시함으로써 인간성 상실·소외등 잠재된 인간적 문제들을 작품을 통해 환기시키는 계기가 된다고 생각한다. 그러므로 회화는 예술가가 경험한 현실에 성실하게 응답함으로써 인간과 예술과의 疏遠해진 관계를 극복할 수 있다고 믿는다.;The question of the relationship beween content and form has been on issu for long while in mordern time. The effort of personal credtive activity and abstract painting to represent human subjectivity is removed form reality. Therefore art has been removed form popular sentiment. Human condition is meaningless without social condition ; so is meaningless the project of the artist. Therefore the project of the artist should be directed to the predicament of human condition. Artist must have a historical orientation. Artistic products must reveal historical and social meaning of the author of the time. In this perspective, the objective of this study is to evaluate my own works in regard to the 19th century realism and 20th century pop art form. 19th century realism is a form of art of social critlcim and the 20th century pop art is a form of popularization of art. By combining the two prespectives, the author tries to establish a critical position of artistic work that integrate social enviroment and human subjectivity. The position of the author is to present in the art form the existential condition of mankind and to show the alienation of man. In order to show the alienation of man, the author puts the man in social condition and realistically describe the spiritual loss. The author thinks that the artist work is to represent the gap between the experience and the real life. The author belienes the art is not simply the expression of reality but representing the reality of the condition of human living. Therefore art is a form of communication between the mass and the artist. Thereby artists can come closer to the audience by responding to the societal perception of the reality.
