아동의 통제 소재에 따른 지각된 유능감

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of perceived competence between Internals and Externals on the levels of important ratings about success. Total 704 pupils of 5th and 6th grade of elementary school were tested. Nowicki and Strickland's Locus of Control Scale for Children was administered to differentiate Internals (n=69) and Externals (n=64). Also Harter's Self-Perception Profile for Children(SPPC) and Important Ratings were used to measure the perceived competence and Importance of success, respectively. The collected data of respondents were analysed by t-test and correlation. The results are as follows; 1. In the high level of perception of importance about success. Internals perceived themselves higher than Externals in social acceptance, physical apperance and behavior conduct. 2. In the low level of perception of importance about success. there were no significance differences of perceived competence between Internals and Externals. 3. In the perception of importance about success, there were no Significant differences between Internals and Externals. As the results of this study, special support and considerations should be given to children with external control belief and low self-esteem at home and school.;본 연구는 아동의 자존감에 영향을 주는 여러 생활의 영역에서 자신의 성공을 중요시 하는 정도와 통제의 소재(locus of control)에 따라 아동의 유능감 지각(perceived competence)에 차이가 있는지를 밝히려고 한 것이다. 이 목적을 위해서 본 연구에서는 첫째, 성공을 중요시 하는 정도에 따라 내외 통제 집단간의 유능감 지각에서 차이가 있는지를 살펴 보았다. 둘째, 성공을 중요시 여기는 정도가 내외 통제집단 간에 차이가 있는지를 알아 보았다. 이러한 연구 문제를 검토하기 위하여 국민학교 5,6학년 학생 704명을 대상으로 아동용 내외 통제감 척도(정은주, 손진훈, 1981)를 실시하여 내적 통제 집단 69명, 외적 통제 집단 64명의 두 집단으로 나누었다. 그리고 이들에게 아동용 자기 지각검사(박정희, 1989)와 성공의 중요성평정척도(박정희, 1989)를 각 집단 별로 실시 하였다. 본 연구의 자료분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 생활의 각 영역에서 자신의 성공을 중요시 하는 정도가 높은 집단에서는 유능감 지각에 있어서 내외 통제 집단간에 유익한 차이를 나타냈다. 즉, 사회영역, 신체영역, 행동영역에서 내적 통제 집단이 외적통제 집단에 비해 자신을 더 유능하다고 지각했다. 둘째, 각 영역별로 자신의 성공을 중요시하는 정도가 낮은 집단에서는 유능감 지각에서 내외 통제 집단간에 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 셋째, 생활의 각 영역 별로 자신의 성공을 중요시 하는 정도는 내외통제 집단 간에 유의한 차이가 없었다.
