Abstract

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)는 바로크시기를 대표하는 작곡가로서 오페라를 제외한 음악의 전 영역에 많은 작품을 남겼으며 다양한 음악 양식을 발전시켜 18세기 음악에 큰 공헌을 하였다. 그의 작품 중 본 논문에서 연구한 종교적 칸타타 Bwv.44는 예수의 예언을 내용으로 하여 많은 교훈을 주었으며 감정에서의 객관적인 면과 구성의 규칙성이 Bach후기의 특징을 잘 나타내었다. 곡중의 Soprano aria "Es ist und bleibt der Christen trost"는 고통 다음 환희를 노래하는 것으로 선율 반주가 시의 내용을 충실히 표연하였다. Richard Strauss (1864-1949)는 독일 낭만주의 작곡가로서 종교음악을 제외한 교향시, 오페라, 가곡에 있어서 많은 작품을 남겼다. 가곡 op.19번을 그의 초기 작품으로 전통적인 수법에서 벗어나 어떠한 형식이나 틀에 얽매이지 않으려는 그의 특징이 잘 나타나 있다. Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky (1839-1881)는 19세기 러시아의 가곡 작곡가로서 손꼽힌다. 그는 서구적인 영향을 배제하고 국민주의적인 음악을 강력히 추구하여 19세기 후기 러시아음악에 활력을 불어 넣었으며 20세기 작곡가들에게 새로운 요소를 제시하였다. 그의 가곡 중 "죽음의 노래와 춤"을 민족적 선율과 주제로 그 당시의 시기적 특징을 잘 나타내어 민족주의 작품으로 선택된다. Hector Berlioz (1803-1867)는 19세기 프랑스 낭만주의 선구자적 사람으로 표제음악이라는 새로운 장르를 만들고 가곡작품에 있어서 관현악반주를 시도함으로서 목소리를 위하여 관 현악화 되었다는 중요한 의의를 가진다. 그의 가곡 "여름 밤"을 이러한 의미에서 그의 특징이 잘 나타나 있다. Gustave Charpentier (1860-1956)는 프랑스 작곡가로 그 당시 사회문제에 큰 관심을 두고 현실적인 사건이나 흔히 볼 수 있는 소재를 선택하여 작품을 썼다. 그의 Opera "Louise"는 파리 노동자의 딸과 가난한 시인의 사랑이야기로 도덕적 관념을 깨어버리고 자유를 향하는 것으로 그 당시 사실주의 Opera로 대표된다.;The writer gave a graduation voice recital on April 17, 1989 for the H.H degree. This thesis aims at investigating the backgrounds and characteristics of the compositions by the five composers. Johann Sebastian Bach (1885-1750), as a typical composer of Baroque period, had many works on almost all fields except opera and made a great contribution to the eighteenth century music by developing various musical forms. Secular cantata Bwv. 44 which is studied through this thesis gave many lessons on Christ's prophecy. And also, with its systematic and objective organization, it represented the very characteristics of late Bach well. Among his cantata Bwv.44, soprano aria "Es ist und bleibt der Christen trost" which is singing for the joy after the trouble, expressed the content of the poem completely with its melody and accompaniment, Richard Strauss (1864-1949) was a German romantic composer who composed many tone-poems, operas and songs. Composition op.19, as his early work, represents the characteristic of composer's unconventional approach not to be tied with any other form or framework. Modest petrovich Mussorgsky (1839-1881) was a composer who worked in the late nineteenth century in Russia. He inspired some activities in that century's Russian music and presented new elements to the composers of the twentieth century by excluding Western influence and by seeking for national music. Among his many vocal music, "Songs and Dances of Death" should be selected as a representative one which contains many features of those days and has national melody and theme. Hector Berlioz (1803-1869), a leading composer of the nineteenth French romantics, made new genre of program Music and attempted orchestral accompaniment in his songs. His song cycle, 'Les Nuits d'ete, maybe best reveal his characteristics described as above, Gustave Charpentier (1860-1956) was a French composer. He had a great concern on those day's social problems and composed OR realistic events or common subjects. Among his works, "Louise", a love story in Paris between worker's daughter and poor poet, is a typical realistic opera which breaks down a moral sense and heads for liberty.
