한국의 도시 빈곤의 문제와 기독교의 책임

Abstract

Regarding the urban poverty-situation in Korea as a social problem, this thesis intended to find out its causes as well as its situations. In the process of this above, I recognized that the urban-poverty in Korea had been caused by the structural contradictions of a society, especially by those of the capitalistic social system. On the basis of such a recognition, I intend to make a study of the capitalistic social system, from which the urban poverty has been resulted, critically in the view of Christian ethics. Chapter Ⅰ, an introduction, makes more precise the following: the point at issue, the purpose, the term-definitions, the methodology, and also the limitation of this research. Chapter Ⅱ deals with the definitions of the urban-poor class, and then investigates the process through which it has been formed, historically. For the purpose of the understanding of the urban-poverty phenomenon in Korea, I introduce the "Theory of formation of the urban-poverty" which is one of the existing sociological theories. In addition, it examines the situations of the urban-poor in Korea briefly and analyzes the causes of the urban poverty, from the both standpoints of the individual and the social one. By this analysis, it is recognized that the urban-poverty in Korea has been resulted from the contradictions of the social system. Chapter Ⅲ draws it's attention to a capitalistic social system in the view of Christian ethics. To do this, the first, on the ground of Max Weber's "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism", the positive relationship of the two is considered; the second the former which has been based to individualism is re-examined; finally, the capitalistic social system is also critically reconsidered. Chapter Ⅳ deals approximately with the Minjung theology, the urban-industrial mission, and the Minjung-church movement, with looking upon them as theological responses to the urban- poverty in Korea. In conclusion, this thesis intends to focus on what should be the responses of Christianity confronted with the actual situations of the urban-poverty in Korea.;본 논문은 한국의 도시 빈곤의 상황을 하나의 사회 문제로 인식하고 도시 빈곤의 상황과 원인을 규명하는 시도를 하였다. 이로부터 한국의 도시 빈곤이 사회 구조적 모순 특히 자본주의 사회 제도의 모순으로부터 기인하였음을 인식하였다. 이러한 인식을 기반으로 하여 도시 빈곤을 야기시키는 자본주의 사회 제도를 기독교 윤리의 입장에서 비판적으로 고찰함으로써 기독교의 책임을 재인식하고자 한다. 제1장은 서론으로서 본 논문의 문제 제기 및 연구의 목적을 밝히고 용어의 정의와 연구의 방법 및 한계를 밝힌다. 제2장은 도시 빈곤층의 정의를 내리고 우리나라 도시 빈곤층의 형성 과정을 역사적으로 고찰하였다. 한국의 도시빈곤 현상의 이해를 돕기 위하여 기존의 사회학적 이론의 도시 빈곤 형성론을 제시하였다. 나아가서 한국의 도시 빈민의 상황을 간략하게 검토하고 도시 빈곤의 원인을 개별적, 사회 구조적 원인으로 나누어 분석하였다. 이 분석에 의하여 한국의 도시 빈곤은 자본주의 사회 제도의 모순으로부터 기인하였음을 인식하였다. 제3장은 기독교 윤리의 입장에서 자본주의 사회 제도를 비판적으로 고찰하였다. 이를 위하여 첫째 M. Weber의 「프로테스탄트 윤리와 자본주의 정신」에 입각하여 양자의 적극적인 관계를 검토하였고 둘째 개인주의에 치우친 개신교 윤리를 비판적으로 검토하고, 셋째 자본주의 사회 제도를 비판적으로 검토하였다. 제4장은 한국의 도시 빈곤에 대한 신학적 모색으로 민중 신학과 도시 산업 선교 및 민중 교회 운동을 대략적으로 검토하였다. 결론적으로 말하자면 본 논문은 기독교 사회 윤리의 입장에서 한국의 도시 빈곤에 직면한 기독교의 책임있는 반응을 모색하기 위하여 일련의 문제 제기를 하는 것을 그 목적으로 갖는다.
