韓國敎會女性敎育과 Letty M.Russell의 女性神學

Abstract

본 논문은, 한국교회여성으로 하여금 여성을 차별하고 소외시켜온 한국의 전통문화와 종교의 억압에서부터 해방되어, 하나님의 형상으로 창조된 본래의 인간성을 회복하도록 교회여성을 위한 의식화교육의 한 방법론을 연구해 본 것이다. 신학적인 가정으로는, 기독교교육자이며 여성신학자(Feminist)인 Letty M.Russell의 여성해방신학을 기반으로 하였다. 교육의 방법론 역시 그녀의 이론에 기초를 두었으나 Freire의 Praxis 의식화 교육 방법을 도입하여 전개하였다. 논문의 내용은 다음과 같다. 한국교회여성의 문제상황은 여러 영역에서 발견될 수 있으나 문화적인 차원과 기독교적인 차원에서만 고찰하였다. 이 두가지 영역에서만 문제상황을 고찰한 이유는 한국 교회여성은, 일반적인 한국여성이 지니는 한국전통의 문화적 유산위에 기독교 문화를 덧 입은 2중 문화속에 있다고 보았기 때문이다. 문화적인 측면으로는 유교의 가부장적 윤리관과 무속신앙의 개인적 기복주의에 대한 문제점을 고찰했으며, 기독교적인 차원으로는 가부장적 성서전승과 상징체제, 이원론적 교리, 여성을 차별하는 교회제도등에서 문제점을 찾아보았다. 위 두 영역의 고찰에서 발견되는 공통점은 남성우월적 이데올로기와 가부장적 제동에서 오는 여성의 종속과 비인간화였다. 그런데 기독교적으로 볼 대 이러한 문제의 근원은 성서에 있음을 발견하게 된 것이다. 교회여성은 이처럼 이중의 억압속에서 비인간화 되었을 뿐 아니라 여성 스스로가 자신을 열등시 하는 남아존중 사상속에서 노예적인 삶을 살아온 것이다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제상황 속에서 비인간화 상태에 있는 교회여성의 인간화를 위하여 의식화교육을 과제로 설정하고 교육의 중심주제는 성서를 재해석 함으로 여성의 참 인간성 회복에 그 목적을 두려는 것이다. 이러한 목적과 과제를 수행하기 위하여 러셀의 여성신학을 기반으로 하였다. 러셀의 여성신학은 하나님의 선교에 기초를 둔 해방신학의 일환으로써 그 중심주제는 파트너쉽이다. 이 파트너쉽은 삼위일체 하나님에 근거를 둔 것으로 하나님과 인간, 인간과 인간, 인간과 창조물 사이에서도 이런 하나님의 파트너 관계가 이루어짐으로 새로운 세계, 구원의 상태인 Shalom이 이루어지기를 희망하는 것이다. 이러한 여성해방신학의 관점에서 교육의 내용이 되는 중심적 성경을 4가지로 재해석 하였다. 즉 창조기사와 타락기사, 예언자 신앙, 예수의 여성관, 바울의 여성관등이다. 마지막으로, 러셀의 교육의 구조이며 방법인 대화와 참여를 근간으로 하여 Freire의 Praxis 교육 방법론을 적용, 교회여성의 인간화를 위한 교육의 한 방법론을 시도해 보았다. 이 교육의 중심은 여성신학적인 관점에서의 성서의 바르고 명확한 해석에 두고있다. 또 여성신학의 사명은 남녀의 Partnership에 머무는 것이 아니고 세계를 향한 봉사(세계와의 Partnership)에도 사명을 가져야 한다는 것으로 결론을 지어 보았다.;This thesis attempts to outline a method of education for Korean church women who have been alienated, oppressed and discriminated against by their traditional culture and their religious culture. My purpose is to concientize Korean church women so as to restore them to their original image as created by God. I have based my theological hypothesis on Feminist Theology as put forth by Dr. Letty M. Russel, educator and theologian. Generally I am following Dr. Russell's educational method but I am also using ideas of Freire as I develop this concientizational educational method. Though the problems of Korean Church Women arise from many sources. I have only tried to deal with two aspects of them in this thesis-namely those which are related to culture and to Christianity. Korean church women live in dual cultures: one is the traditional Korean culture and the other is the Christian way of life which came out of their traditional culture. As I studied the cultrue. I could see probems stemming from the patriarchal ethics of Confucianism and the personal welfare and blessing of shamanism. From the study of Christianity, I could see problems such as the Biblical message of the patriarchal system, symbolism, dualistic doctrine and church hierarchy, in which women are discriminated against. I discovered common factors in these two spheres of influence: the ideology of men's superiority over women and patriarchim where women are passive and dependent on men, and the dehumanization of women. From the perspective of Chrisitianity it is obvious that the Bible has contributed to the inferior position of women. Korean Church women have not only been dehumanized and doubly oppressed, but church women themselves believe women are inferior to men and they belittle themselves as slaves. Therefore, my attempt in this thesis is to help church women to become persons, through right interpretation or reinterpretation of the Beble. In order to restore women as persons, it was essential, as Dr.Russell concluded, to accept Feminist Theology. Dr. Russell's concept of Feminist Theology was bassed on one aspect of Liberation Theology which has its foundation in the mission of God. However the central theme of it is "partnership". This partnership is derived from God, the Trinity: God is constantly working through partner relationships-between God and humankind; humankind and humankind; and humankind and creation. Eventually this partnership will bring salvation and create a new world by was of Shalom. As the Bile is the skeleton of our education from the perspective of Feminist liberation theology, I have tried to re-divide it into four sections, as follows: 1) The stories of creation and the fall of humankind. 2) The faith of the prophets. 3) Jesus attitude to women. 4) Paul's view of womanhood. In conclusion, I attempted to set up the method of dialogue and participation which is the educational method used by Dr. Russell. However I added to that the Praxis educational method of Freire in order to help women become whole persons freed from their inhuman situation. The central theme is the correct interpretation of the Bible from the perspective of Feminist Theology. Therefore, the responsibility, or rather the ministry of Feminist Theology, is to serve the whole world rather than serving men and women only. We are partners to all the elements in this world.
