Marcel Duchamp과 Fernandez Arman의 ready-made 비교연구

Abstract

The introduction of the ready-made into modern art resulted in an enlargement of the formative consciousness. The concept of the ready-made, since that term was used for the first time by M. Duchamp, has been viewed in many different ways. A comparative study of the ready-made helps one understand the developing process of the ready-made as one among many areas of modern art. The purpose of this thesis is to compare the ready-made of M. Duchamp with F. Arman and to tell the differences between them. The content of this research is composed of the comparison of M. Duchamp with F. Arman in their ideas of formation, the number of works , and their working processes. The method I adopted in this research was, first, to conduct a purposive sampling of the two authors, next, to analyze their works by matched sampling;and, finally, to show the differences between them. The result of this research can be viewed from the three categories: the artists' ideas of formation, the number of works, and methods of manufacturing. From the standpoint of the idea of formation, M. Duchamr put much value upon the manufacturing process and the idea of the ready-made itself. And them since he suggested the ready-made as a single form and avoided repetition as a working method, the number of his works is quite small. On the contrary, F. Arman put an emphasis on works as completed forms and regarded the ready-made just as composing materials. He viewed the ready-made as accumulated and complicated forms and manufactured a set of works in a great number. In his manufacturing method, M. Duchamp only slightly trans formed his materials through modification and exhibition. F. Arman, however, transformed his much more through modification and destruction. To conclude, the differences in the aft work of M. Duchamp and F. Arman reflet the differences in their ideas of formation, the number of works, and manufacturing processes deriving from those attitudes.;현대미술에 있어서 ready-made의 도입은 새로운 조형의식의 확대를 가져왔다. M. Duchamp이 창시했던 개념이 시대의 변천에 따라 다른 양상으로 전개되는데 이러한 ready-made의 비교연구는 현대미술의 한 영역인 ready-made의 전개를 파악하는데 도움이 된다. 본 연구의 목적은 M. Duchamp과 F. Arman의 read-made를 비교하여 그 상이점을 규명하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 M. Duchamp과 F. Arman의 ready-made를 조형이념, 작품의 수, 제작방법의 세 측면에서 비교하였다. 연구의 방법은 문헌과 작품을 기본도구로 하여 ready-made를 소재로 하여 표현하는 두 작가를 有意標集하였고, 작품은 配合標出에 의해 관점별로 분석하여 상이점을 도출하였다. 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조형이념에서 M. Duchamp은 제작과정이나 생각을 중요시하였고, ready-made 소재자체를 중시하였는데 F. Arman은 완성된 형태를 중요시하였고, ready-made는 형태의 구성재료로 씌였다. 둘째, 작품의 수에서 M. Duchamp은 하나의 readymade로써 단일형태로 제시하며 반복을 거부했고, 제작된 작품의 수가 소량인 반면에 F. Arman은 ready-made를 집적하여 복합형태로 나타내고 연작의 제작과 다량으로 제작하였다. 세째, 제작방법에서 M. Duchamp은 제시와 수정이라는 최소한읜 변형을 가했으며 F. Arman은 수정과 파괴의 방법을 사용하여 변형의 정도가 심하게 나타나고 있다. 결론으로 M. Duchamp과 F. Arman의 ready-made의 상이점은 조형이념, 작품의 수, 제작방법이 차이에서 찾아진다.
