성차별과 여성신학의 과제

Abstract

Sexism is the first obstacle to be removed from Korean Church and Scoiety for the humanization of women as well as men. Ⅰ. Sexism in the Korean Church To eliminate sexism from the Church and society we have to find out what is the real situation regarding sexism in the Korean Church. Beginning from the situation of women ministers and women Church workers, we go on to consider the situation of lay women, and also women in ecumenical bodies. we look at activities in the local church and the whole denomination through women's eyes. In working with the leaders of Korean churches I have experienced sexism through women's activities in ecumenical bodies. Ⅱ. History of Sexism and Feminist Theological Reflection To find out the real casuse of sexism, we trace the history of sexism through the Old Testment, the New Testament and Christian tradition, and then reflect on it in the light of feminist theology, and also through the teaching and life of Jesus, our liberator. Ⅲ. Feminist Theological Reinterpretation Against Sexism To have a firm conviction to fight aginst sexism we need a new understanding of the Bible and the Gospel. Most of us are brainwashed by a father-image of God and are bounded by it. We need to be free from this by realizing there is also a mother-image in god. Eve was condemned as the original sinner, and is accused of being the first one to bring sin into the world. A new understanding of Eve and Mary will help women to be whole, authentic persons with self-respect. Since most Korean churches do not ordain women, we try to prove that Jesus had women disciples. Ⅳ. The Task of Feminist Theology to Overcome Sexism Finally, the tasks of feminist theology are the building of a new Church community with aspiration for equal participation in the Church, upholding the integrity of creation, recovering relations between God and human beings, among human beings, and between human beings and nature. Our vision for a new global community is one without pollution, a new simpler life style, and a new economic order.... We then consider women's role for the Korean people-though the most homogeneous nation and people in the world, we have suffered for long years under division. Women have a role to play for the reuniting of our people and for the realization of world peace, and the coming Kingdom of Go. Shalom.;성차별은 한국교회와 사회 안에서 여성과 남성의 인간화를 위해 우선적으로 제거되야 할 장벽이다. 본 논문에서는 성차별의 현장을 고발하는 것으로 시작하여 성차별의 역사와 여성신학의 조명으로 성서와 신학의 재해석으로 이 땅에서의 여성신학의 과제를 모색하고자 한다. 첫째, 성차별의 현장을 보면, 한국교회의 3분의 2를 차지하는 여성을 목회하는데 여성목회자는 남성목회자에 비하여 차별을 받고 있음을 알게 된다. 본인이 소속된 개교회와 교단주변에서 쉽게 볼 수 있는 여신도들이 당하는 성차별을 열거한다. 그리고 에큐메니칼 운동을 하는 교회 연합기구에서 본인이 여성위원장을 담당했던 현장에서의 성차별을 볼 수 있다. 둘째로, 성차별의 원인을 찾아보기 위하여 구약성서 속의 성차별적 요소들과 예수가 오신후에도 나타난 신약 속의 성차별 구절들을 찾아보고 기독교 전통 속에서 신학과 교회를 이끌어온 문서들과 인물들을 찾아서 여성신학에 의하여 조명한다. 셋째로, 성차별은 가부장 문화의 유산으로 인식하고 가부장문화는 특히 가부장적 하나님 인식과 관련 있음을 보게 된다. 이 인식을 바꿔주는데 성서 속에 나타난 하나님의 어머니 모습이 큰 역할을 하는 것을 여성의 경험으로서 확인한다. 하나님이 자기를 비워 세상에 오신 예수를 통해 여성이 해방되는 복음을 새롭게 발견하게 된다. 더욱이 기독권의 포기를 선언하는 희년의 의미를 여성의 인간회복과 연관해서 생각하게 된다. 거기에 따라서 이브와 마리아를 재해석하고 여성 제자직의 타당성을 찾게 된다. 넷째로, 성차별을 극복하는 구체적인 과제로서 새로운 교회공동체를 모색한다. 다음으로 하나님의 창조를 보전해야 할 우리들의 청지기 사명을 인식한다. 망가진 이 세상을 고치기 위하여 자연을 보호하고 공해를 추방하여 이웃과 더불어 사는 생명문화 운동에 동참할 것을 제시한다. 마지막으로 우리는 유구한 역사를 지닌 단일민족으로 오래동안 분단의 아픔에 시달려온 것을 인식한다. 한민족 분단의 극복은 또한 세계 인간들 사이의 모든 분단을 극복하는 계기가 될 것이며 그것이 세계 평화의 길이요 하나님 나라가 이 땅 위에 이루어지는 길이라고 우리는 믿는다. 한국의 여성은 이 사명을 감당하도록 초대된다.
