종이 조형에 관한 연구

Abstract

In modern art, development of material was selected by paper which was not concentrate on concern of artists and concerning the paper. Artists develop directly the paper as they please, so they reflected on work. New sight of paper was enlarged width of subject matter and activity sphere of paper itself. What they want to reflect on work, they also concentrate peauliarly on the textures of the paper making In this theory, I studied on theoretical background of history of paper of hand-made paper manufacture to support my paper-making work: I try to combine felt to contrast of the paper texture. When the light changes, the shados by the relief also changes and that make the work alive. The paper was its characteristics of easy mix ture of other materials.;현대미술의 재료에 대한 개발은 작가들에게 관심의 집중이 되지 못했던 종이를 선택하도록 하였다. 이렇듯 종이에 대한 관심은 작가 자신들이 원하는 형태의 종이를 직접 제작하여 작품에 도입하는데 이르렀다. 종이에 대한 새로운 시각은 현대 조형 예술에 있어 소재의 폭을 넓혀 주었으며 종이자체의 활동영역을 넓혀주었다. 본 논문은 새로운 소재로 등장한 종이의 역사, 전통 수제지 제작 현대 종이조형 작품들의 이론적 배경을 연구하여 종이작업을 통한 독창적 표현방법을 작품에 도입함으로써 종이조형에 대한 연구를 하였다. 작품제작은 재순환된 종이를 주재료로 하였고 종이재질과 어울리는 펠트(Felt)틀 혼합하여, 빛이 작품에 비칠때 생기는 그림자가 빛의 밝기와 표면의 계절에 따라 다양하계 변화하는 것을 표현하고자 하였다. 습도, 열, 압력에 대한 종이의 특성은 타재료와외 혼합을 용이하게 하였고 단순한 평면위에 종이만의 독특한 재질(Texture)로써 표면에 변화를 주었다. 종이를 작가가 직접 제작하게 됨에 따라 단순한 소재로서의 종이가 종이의 재질 자체로도 조형작업의 중요한 요소로 존재할 수 있고 예술의 한 분야로서 종이조형의 영역을 구축하게 되었다.
