自然景觀의 이미지 表現에 관한 연구

Abstract

Nature is the basis of human life, and humans as part of nature have been existed within the truth of nature. Man could identify his existence in the law of nature and recognize himself as a being inseparable from nature. On the other hand, nature inspires man constantly. So, nature has been used as a subject of artistic presentation since man could draw things. And the method of expression have changed throughout art history. Getting out of the fixed idea of the past which reproduces the nature as it is, modern art has become to put importance on the artist's originality which expresses the objects individually. In addition, the research and development of new materials and a variety of techniques brought out innovations of the expression methods and extended its domain further. Therefore, the creative plastic arts, combining the external objects with the mind of individual, established the possibility of the artist's self-expression. The purpose of this thesis is to pursue the creative plastic arts through the formalization of the nature image with the trees as main objects. Dying techniques were applied specifically to express the objects. To achieve the goals above, the writer studied theoretical]y the expression and transformation of nature through the existing artistic works and direct observation. In the process of work production, the writer attempted to have artistic experience and to find out the possibility of expression through the reality and image of objects. The findings and analysis resulted from my study and production are as follows: First, the everlasting liveness and worth of nature can be appreciated when the image of nature is formalized by the artist's intuition. Second, trees and forests, which are used to express the nature in my works, are desirable as artistic objects. It is particularly valuable within bleak city environment. Third, in addition to the traditional batik technique, the crack technique and the spreading technique using GX are introduced. These are very effective to express the image of trees and forests. However, light and darkness differences are somewhat stiff and the soft feeling of nature is not implemented as expected. With those experiences and limitations in mind, the writer would like to pursue the creative efforts through continuous study and work activities in the future.;자연은 인간 삶의 터전이며 인간은 자연의 섭리 안에 존재하는 일부분이다. 인간은 자연의 질서 속에 자신의 존재를 확인하며 성장 자연으로부터 분리될 수 없는 존재임을 인식한 반면에 자연은 인간에게 끊임없는 감동을 준다. 자연은 인간이 사물을 묘사하기 시작한 이래로 예술적 표현의 주제가 되어왔으며 인간이 표현하고자 하는 표현방식은 시대에 따라 변화되어 왔다. 자연을 있는 그대로 재현하는 과거 고정관념의 형태로부터 벗어나 현대에와서는 대상과 내면세계를 개성적으로 표현하는 독창력을 중요하게 되었다. 또한 새로운 재료의 연구개발과 기술의 다양성은 표현양식이나 그 영역이 무한히 확대 되고있다. 그러므로 창조적 조형 예술은 자연을 통하여 대상과 작가의 내면세계를 결합하여 자기표현의 가능성을 모색하는 것이다. 이에 본 연구자는 나무를 소재로한 자연경관의 이미지를 재구성하는 과정에서 그 이미지를 실제화시켜 염색공예에서의 표현양식과 그 가능성을 모색하는데 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 이론적으로 자연과 표현 대상의 변형등의 개념을 기존작품들과 직접 관찰을 통하여 연구하였으며, 작품제작과정에서 대상의 실제와 이미지를 통한 미적체험과 표현 가능성을 찾고저 시도하였다. 위와같은 연구를 바탕으로 작품을 제작, 분석한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연이 주는 생명감과 가치는 영원무궁한 것이며 자연에서의 이미지가 개성적 직관으로 형성화되었을 때 진정한 작품으로서의 가치가 인정됨을 느낄 수 있었다. 둘째, 획일적이고 경직된 도시의 환경속에서 향수처럼 늘 기억속에 잠재되어 갈망하던 자연경관의 이미지를 표현하기 위하여 소재로 선정한 대상물-나무, 숲-이 연구자 자신의 내적세계표현을 위한 형태로 적절한 대상이었다고 생각된다. 셋째, 수목(樹木)의 형태를 표현함에 있어서 초기에는 납방염만을 사용하였으나 대상의 이미지 표현을 전개해가는 과정에서 번지기에 의한 기법이나 크랙 (Crack)을 부분적으로 이용한 기법은 효과가 있었다. 그러나 전체적으로 명암의 차이가 경직된 느낌이 있고, 자연의 포근한 이미지가 기대했던것 만큼 표현되지 못한 난점이 있었다. 이러한 경험을 바탕으로하여 계속적인 연구와 작품활동을 통하여 제한점을 개선하고 더욱 독창적 조형세계를 추구하고자 한다.
