파우스트의 무대의상 연구

Abstract

무대 위에서의 의상은 배우와 동일시 되어지는 시각적 효과를 갖기 때문에 극의 주제, 시대적 배경 및 장소 등에 관한 정보 뿐만 아니라 등장인물의 성격과 섬세하고 미묘한 심리상태까지도 관객에게 전달시킬 수 있는 시각언어이다. 본 논문은 이러한 전제하에 독일의 문학가 괴에테의 비극, 파우스트를 인물 표현 중심으로 접근 분석하였고. 의상이 상징적 표현성을 지니도록 디자인함에 그 목적을 두었다. 디자인에 선행하여 괴에테와 작품 파우스트를 소개하고 무대의상과 디자인 요소를 이론적으로 검토하였다. 또한 등장인물을 분석하고 각자의 의상에 인물의 극적 심리상태가 상징적으로 반영될 수 있도록 디자인 요소를 적극 활용하여 총 9점의 일러스트레이션을 제시하였다.;The stage costume is a visual language able to transmit not only the information about theme, the historical background and the locale in the drama but also the character and the subtle mental state of dramatis personae to the audience, because the costume on the stage is regarded in the same light with the performer, they merge into a single image on stage. On this premise, this study approached and analyzed the Faust by Goethe centering on the character expression with the purpose of designing the costume to have a symbolic expression. Before designing the costume, this study introduced Goethe and his tragedy of Faust, and investigated the stage costume and the design element theoretically. And then this study analyzed the dramatis personae and also presented the total illustrations by making the most of design element so as to to reflect the dramatic mental state of characters in each costume.
